Indiana players in the NFL

I cant believe nobody said Ryan Kerrigan yet. He's from Muncie, up close to where my family live. I think Nick Hardwick is from Indy too.

Had the pleasure of facing Kerrigan in high school. He was a man child playing TE and DE.

Played Eifert too but he wasn't nearly as frightening.

If you don't mind me asking PT, what subject did your uncle teach?

Let's see

My Dad taught Social Studies at Princeton Community

My Mom taught 3/5 in Princeton

An Aunt who taught 5th Grade at Loogootee

An Aunt who taught Science and was a Guidance Counselor at Jasper

An Uncle who taught Social Studies at Pike Central

My Uncle who taught at Heritage Hills was an Art Teacher

Eifert was supposedly at the local golf course about 15 minutes away from my house the night he was drafted.

He was at home with family, friends, and news channel 55. haha. I would see him at Granite City every now and then when he was playing for Norte Dame.

No mention of Zack Martin of the Dallas Cowboys who was born right here in Indianapolis, and went to school at Bishop Chatard. Nick Hardwick went to Lawrence North. Chris Jones from New England I think went to Brownsburg. Mathias Kiwanauka of the Giants is a Cathedral grad. Bernard Pollard of the Titans is from Fort Wayne.

The entire list of players from the past who were born here is pretty long including guys like Dick "The Bruiser" Afflis.

I knew he was with channel 55, I saw it the segment the next day, there were just a couple rumors that he was at Glendarin Golf Course for the draft. I heard he did go there occasionally during the summer in high school.

It sounds like you have a long line of Indiana teachers there as the family business PT. Very cool! I'm always partial to Social Studies myself, but the artistic side of me would have been drawn to art too.

I'm good at listening to people too & I briefly toyed with the idea of pursing a career in counseling actually. In any case, I respect your family's commitment to higher education & thank you for answering my question PT.
