Steelers Fanzone

I checked one of the Steelers' message boards. Many of the fans are worried about the Colts. They don't think the Steelers can get pressure on Luck; one poster wrote that if Pittsburgh falls behind by two scores, the game is over. I haven't noticed any "trash talk"; the Steeler fans seem to respect the Colts.

I think that Pittsburgh willl play a tough game against Indy. The Colts should win, but it might not be easy.

They appear to be fair minded.  Some still think Colts' defense is a liability, but that comes from not watching our games.  I do agree if we get up by a couple of scores, their offense isn't built for quick points, unless we pull a Texan, and give'm short fields in a span of 90 seconds.

not going to be easy at all, by any stretch.

Just took a browse over there. Only read a couple pages but most have their head screwed on straight.

Apart from the one who said they will use DHB to stretch the field.

If they send DHB deep then I say we don't even cover him. Just let him run down the field. :)

I am down for playing 11 against 10.

When asked what separates Colts QB Andrew Luck from others Steelers faced, cornerback Brice McCain paused, then said, “not much.”

Awesome. A good sign that the Steelers are not very prepared.

If the Steelers really believe this then Luck will light them up.

Rule # 1; always respect the opponent, and especially respect the opponents strengths.

Honestly, do you really think they won't be prepared? Seems a big leap to make from that quote.

Yes. I do believe it shows lack of preparation. A team needs to be very prepared to face Luck.

I respect Tomlin, and he says the right things, but his team has not shown up on several occasions.

For a corner to say that Luck isn't much different than Hoyer, Flacco, Newton, Bortles, and Fitzpatrick; it is not really smart. If the corner really thinks that then he is in for a rude awakening.

Do you agree with McCain or something?

I think you might be over thinking the comment. To me, it reads more of an answer to just stop talking about the question. Either he says something like that or rambles on forever about Luck. If I were a player, I'd do the former.

I don't think I am reading into much at all. It is quite simple. McCain doesn't believe Luck will be anymore of a challenge than any other QB he has faced this year. That is what he said.

The Steelers have not faced Luck yet. They will look at it from a different perspective once the game is over.

I actually thought this game would be close, but if McCain is speaking on the Steelers mindset then this could get ugly in a hurry.

What's he supposed to say? AL is by far the best we've faced and I'm terrified I'm going to get scorched by him? or Conversely ramble on forever about Luck's traits? The Steelers are known to be a cocky, no nonsense team...I see more of that here than anything. At any rate, we can agree to disagree. Not like we'll ever know anyway.

I know one thing....Tomlin knew and stated very well how much they'd have to prepare for us in his postgame press conference after the Houston game.

But the Steelers this season have piled up a lot of penalties and have not been the disciplined, cohesive unit they usually are....which has driven Tomlin crazy at times. So in some manner, McCain's comment isn't surprising.

Pregame talk aside, I expect us to win a close, tough game.

I think we both know the answer.

What would we (Colts fans) think if one of our players said that Big Ben is no different than any other QB we have faced?

Think about it from that angle and then get back to me. ;)

So apparently that horrible black and white striped uni on Sunday. I think they are hoping the entire Colts roster ewill just start vomiting in disgust and wont be able to field 11 players.

Horrible uniforms. Atrocious...Denver's throwbacks are even worse though.

I can't wait to see Roethlisberger hold on to the ball too long and Walden or Jackson rush in and drop him...

Here's what else he said about AL: CB Brice McCain: "He's good with his feet. You've got to tackle him when he tries to move and don't let him throw the ball when he's got people wrapped on him. Sometimes you get wrapped up on him and he still throws the ball. Sometimes it will be dumb passes but we've got to capitalize off that. If he [makes bad decisions] we've got to pick them balls. We can't let him complete those balls or let the ball hit the ground."

He will stretch the field...... It's getting him to catch when he's stretched the field that's the problem

Wheaton has been a disappointment so expect more reps for DHB. While his hands aren't the best, his speed paired with Mike Wallace's speed & hands can turn to be a pain in the rear for the defense if we don't play it right

Aren't they black and yellow?  They look like a bunch of bumble bees.

So we have added makes "dumb" passes to the mix.

Again, what would we say if one of our players said this about Big Ben?

Not smart.

If the Steelers players all look at this game the same way then it will be a very bad day for the Bumble Bees.

I personally thought this would be a close game, but now I am starting to think we could put up another 40.

For the love of God, of course I don't agree with McCain.

I just think there is a huge difference between what he says and what he really thinks.  Of course he knows Luck is light years ahead of those QB's.

Tomlin said we were a fantastic all round team. I'll be interested to see what these words mean in terms of the score, based on your current line of logic.

Whatever it is, I'll be wagering a large bet on the outcome.
