Hi, Colts Nation!  :)   A former Colt and a certain future  Hall-Of-Famer and his team will be on the national and worldwide spotlight as they are featured on NFL's Thursday Night Football.  Philip Rivers and the 5-2 San Diego Chargers, visit Peyton Manning and the 5-1 Denver Broncos in the Mile High City in Colorado in the battle of the top two teams in the AFC West Division.

Both the Broncos and the Chargers have adjusted, practiced, and prepared to accommodate for NFL's Thursday Night Football coverage, and both teams three days off between games. If Denver wins tonight, the Broncos will command a two game lead in the AFC West. If San Diego Wins, both the Chargers and Broncos would be tied at 6-2.

Peyton's record head-to-head with the San Diego Chargers as an NFL QB overall is 8-6, including two playoff games split as a Colt, entering tonight. Manning is 4-5 in 7 regular season, and two playoff games as a Colt player between 1998 through 2010, and 4-1 as a Bronco in 2012 and 2013, including Denver  winning the AFC Divisional Playoff Game over San Diego 24-17 in Denver, back on Janiary 12, 2014, on their way to Super Bowl XLVIII.

Chargers are also coming from a home loss to the Chiefs, Kansas City winning that game with a 48-yard FG by Cairo Santos with 0:26 seconds remaining in regulation. Broncos won their game  42-17 to the 49ers in Denver . on Sunday Night. Highlight of the game that evening was  Peyton Manning's  passing  (in quantity) Brett Favre's prior NFL record with 508 touchdowns. Peyton now owns the NFL's all-time record for passing touchdowns in his career with both the Colts and Broncos, and still counting each game. Peyton threw four passing touchdowns to break Favre's (another future NFL Hall-Of Famer) all-time TD passing record, and Manning current has 510 passing TD's after Sunday Evening.

Jim Nantz and Phil Simms, are announcing the live TV game commentary, along with sideline reporter and interviewer Tracy Wolfson, simulcast in the USA on The NFL On CBS, including WISH-TV CBS Channel 8 in Indianapolis, and internationally on The NFL Network live on HD.  THNF Pre-Game Show begins on The NFL Network at 6:00PM Eastern Standard Time.

Brooklyn Nets and New York Jets Preseason Game TV play-by-play broadcaster Ian Eagle, and NFL Network and Notre Dame TV analyst Mike Mayock are also announcing the Chargers/Broncos game throughout the USA on the Westwood One Radio Network, including locally in Indianapolis on WNDE Sports Radio 1260AM.

Sunny and clear skies at 66 degrees, is the local game cast inside the Sports Authority Field At Mile High Stadium in Downtown Denver, along with 31% humidity, 0% precipitation, and very mild east/southeastern winds at 4 miles per hour.

Visiting Chargers are wearing the white helmets and jerseys, and navy blue pants, while the host Broncos are wearing their matching navy blue, with orange trim, helmets, jerseys and pants.

No further injuries, and we wish former Indianapolis Colt, and current Denver Bronco QB Peyton Manning continue to excel in his NFL career. And thanks also Peyton, for crediting the Colts to be the player and QB you are now, in your 18th professional season in the NFL, wearing # 18. Go for win # 6, and just for this Thursday Night, GO BRONCOS!!!!!   :nfl:  :ribbon:  :pass:

Sometimes I feel I'm the only Colts fan that is not a Broncos fan would love to see a chargers win tonight . Not that I expect that with the Chargers being decimated by injuries but the Chargers have been Peytons kryptonite .

Since he's joined Denver they're 4-1 against them

During the previous stretch I think they were 5-2 and with different faces.

Stephen Cooper used to have Manning's number as a signal caller on D and they had Merriman, Olshansky, Jamaal Williams, Shaun Phillips, Jammer, Cromartie. That 2004 Charger team was a nightmare match-up I'm glad the Colts never had to test in the play-offs

I'm surprised the Broncos have made a switch at RT and benched Chris Clark ...Freeney is probably licking his chops right now

Rivers 6 and 3 in Denver should be 7 and 2 minus a blown call

The only thing Freeney is doing at this point is cashing a check. He has had one problem after another since signing with the Chargers. Freeney is just a shell of the player he once was.

That's hilariously wrong. You know, it's not required to comment on things if you have no idea what you are talking about.

Of course Freeney isn't who he was when playing opposite of Mathis 7 years ago... no player is who they were 7 years ago.  However, he is playing very well and contributing greatly.  We are not at all unhappy with the acquisition.

I want Denver to lose (it would help us in our pursuit of a bye) but it's not going to happen.

2 sacks and 3 solo tackles don't make him too feared.

He leads the team in QB hits and pressures

We've seen this before when his stat-line doesn't reflect his impact on the game eg 2006 where his sack total was low but his presence was felt

Why? It makes no difference who wins between the two. Both have two losses and are in the AFC. Both teams are capable when reaching the playoffs.

Nah, the Broncos have 1 loss. NE has a tough stretch coming up with CHI, DEN, GB, and Detroit, so I expect some losses there. I don't think they'll get a bye. A Broncos loss tonight could only help us. The 1st or 2nd seed isn't that far out of reach.

Of course, none of this matters because the Broncos are going to kill the Chargers. And we have to worry about PIT.

The Broncos also own the tiebreak with us if we are tied
