Will all the People that degraded Grison, Pagano and Pep apologize?

The Motto

Recommended Posts

All along I've asked Pep to show me how good he is.....   and he's in the process of doing just that!

Been very pleased with him since week 3.     I'd like to see how he does throughout this season.    I'm looking forward to it.

Bottom line is withheld until the season (including the playoffs) is over....

I think Pep is looking good now because he always was good but he has a o-line and just better players now.

Pep is thr only person ive called out. If theres crow to be eatin for me I wont eat it until next season. Still dont have alot of faith in his play calling

I think Pagano's philosophy of trying to turn our offense into the Baltimore Ravens when they had Jamal Lewis has something to do with it. Thankfully the coaching staff is recognizing that it's not gonna work. Luck is not Trent Dilfer.

This is true, Luck is no Trent Dilfer. Dilfer has a SB ring so therefore is a better QB.*

Just as a point of clarification, Chuck Pagano was the DB coach for the Miami Hurricanes when the Ravens had Jamal Lewis and Trent Dilfer. He went to the Browns, Raiders, and then back to college as the defensive coordinator for the Tar Heels before joining the Ravens in 2008 as their secondary coach. By then, Lewis and Dilfer were long gone, and Brian Billick had been fired the year before. Point being, Pagano has no ties to that era of the Baltimore Ravens, and it's unlikely that he would be trying to emulate their specific formula from over a decade ago.

Seems a little patience was all that was needed.  FA signings take some time to get use to a new team, new systems take time to get the kinks out and most of all a brand new culture doesn't happen overnight. Seems all these are coming together well right now.  The whole obsession with what we paid players has always intrigued me.  I know over paying can sometimes hurt the team but we are fine in cap space and it's not my money we are spending.  Plus over paying for FA's is just the nature of the beast it happens.  Our past 2 drafts are also looking much better with how Thornton and Mewhort have improved the OL and Moncrief looks like a future star.  On defense the improvement of Werner this year ,as well as, Hughes has been huge for this defense and Newsome is playing better every game and just from an eye test his game  (not to the same level yet) looks like Mathis’. This doesn’t even mention our UDFA success Kerr, Purifoy, Whalen and Harrison all are contributors.  Our defense has also been rebuilt by FA signings and Walden, Jackson, RJF and Toler are only getting better and where would we be without the trade for Vontae or Cory Redding?  Obviously some of the signings haven’t worked as well as others (Landry and one year WR’s) but that’s to be expected.  Pagano was a first time HC and I am sure it took some time to learn the ways of being a HC (not to mention he missed most all of his first season) but he has done a masterful job this year.   I think his knowledge and philosophy is one of the biggest reasons our Special Teams is so improved. Pep is straight owning people this year and it’s not hard to see.  Overall I am very excited about this time and think the future is very bright.

Yep Crow pie for lots of haters :lecture:

Who's Grison ?

Really feels like the staff needed those first 2 losses to wake up. After that, the offense started to blossom and Manusky schemed better and all of a sudden 10 different players have sacks. And alot of Grigson's FA signings started to pick it up.

So far the only mistake seems to be Laron Landry but hey you can't hit on every draft pick and FA signing.

Everyone was off those first two games. Even Luck.

The whole team looks different than it did in the first half of the Broncos game and the second half of the Eagles game.

I was thinking that there was no way people would find something to fight about today...........color me wrong

Seriously you could have chosen any of the positive views expressed in the OP

As far as people thinking it's not fair to take shots at fans for having an opinion on coaching........I cannot keep this straight

It's ok to call for firing but it's not ok to call out the fans who called for the firing? why?

WOW!

I agree, but WOW!

I will leave it at that.

I'm not sure why you think this?

Pagano has been consistent from Day One.   The two most important things to do are to A) run the ball on offense,  and B) stop the run on defense.

What are the Colts doing this year?     We're running the ball really well,  and we're stopping the run.

Running the ball makes your passing game that much more effective.

Stopping the run makes opposing defenses one dimensional and easier to defend.

Nothing has changed.     We're just doing everything better....    and it's because of A & B....

the schedule has not challenged us..

Don't evaluate at mid-season

I disagree with this.

First, we played two top ten teams in the first two games. So the schedule has in fact challenged us.

Second, you play who you play. The schedule doesn't make you what you are.

Third, evaluations are ongoing, but 7 games is plenty enough to know whether a team is good or not. Things can change, but the point is simple: the Colts are good, and the staff is doing a good job right now.

I stand behind all my criticism of Pep early on because, frankly, I feel the play calling was suspect the first two games.

That said, I don't think passionate fans should ever feel like they have to "apologize" for giving their two cents.

Pep has been remarkable as of late

I know he wasn't with the Ravens when all of that stuff took place I was just making stating an opinion.

I didn't say anything about the defense whatsoever I was just talking about Pep and Chuck. I'm all for running the ball because that's been our weakness for years, and I'm a huge Bradshaw fan. It just seemed like last year and the first two games they was trying to make Luck a game manager. That's all I was trying to say.

WE lost to the best 2 teams we played.

7 games is nowhere near enough to tell, who is really good..(see KC in 2013)

Its okay to root ...we all do....but lets win some road games over winning teams before we talk about how good we are.

We're the Cowboys..we haven't proven anything yet

The Chiefs were good in 2013. Just because they weren't dominant doesn't mean they weren't a good team.

Seven games is plenty. You act like people are penciling us in for the Super Bowl.

And the Cowboys are good, just like we are. If both teams keep up their current pace, they might not have to go on the road in the playoffs.

We are what we are right now. Watch the games, see how the team is playing, and it's clear that this is a really good team. Doesn't have to be the most dominant team in the history of ever. Just keep playing well, like we are.

No.No No.......7 games of 16 isnt a lot..

Go back and look at what the question was that began this thread...

We need to win road games....make the playoffs..get a top seed...

Dont act like we've reached ANY goals..we have not...we've done NOTHING yet. neither has Dallas

there is no such thing as 'pace' Lets just win at Pittsburgh. WE are what we are at the end of the season.

After 2 weeks...many wanted to dismantle the franchise..lets not blow in the wind so much

My point is that the Pacers were rolling during the first half of the season, then completely collapsed.  The team is playing great football now, but it's all for nothing if we go winless after our bye.  I just don't want to be too quick to judge the team when the season isn't even half over yet

I get where you're coming from, and I still don't fully understand what happened with that Pacers team, but it seems that the Granger trade really irked team chemistry, and turned Hibbert into a 7'4" woman.

Another good comparison would be the Bengals. After their 3-0 start, all the "experts" thought they were the best thing since sliced bread. Since then not so much.
