did their defense really miss willis bowman aldon smith and bunch of players in their secondary? and before you say oh kaep has so many weapons and good o-line which is true, but I dont see kaep like someone that can lead a team like luck or wilson. I put him more at RG3 level

Broncos played great.

Von Miller and D Ware were dialed in all night. If Broncos offense went for the kill all 60 minutes, we are talking over 60 points. But SF didn't have some key starters.

If they play again with all the starters, there won't be much of a change.

This is very much like 43-8 in the SB. Seahawks were not 35 points better than the Broncos but on that day, with the mistakes on O, D and special teams that the Broncos made, things snowballed from there. Broncos were missing key starters in Von Miller, Chris Harris, Ryan Clady etc. last year as well in the SB.

Same thing in last night's game. You miss key starters, you drop a few passes and settle for FGs vs Peyton and before you know, you are on the road and down big. Things then snowball from there due to the lead which gives the Broncos' D more leeway to take risks, jump routes and be disruptive by pinning their ears back and go at a team that has to be one dimensional on offense because of the lead.

42 points in 43 minutes for Manning. Think if he played 60 minutes. Did you watch the game?.

If you have any different opinion, want to hear it.

you think missing three all pros and a number of players in the secondary didnt affect their defense?

Yeah but Denver starters didn't play the 4th quarter. Once all the starters are back for niners and Denver play full 60, will be the same.

its a different ball game when you got willis and bowman in the middle and the smith brothers coming from the edge

Kaep is overrated and will likely be Harbaugh's downfall.  He would have been wiser to stick with Alex Smith.

Just like with RG3, once you take away the threat of the read option play these guys are pretty pedestrian.

I agree with the bolded, but if Kaep could refine his passing game, he'd be really good. He has an absolute cannon of an arm.

Denver looked very sharp and very amped for the record last night. It was an emotional high for the team, fans and Peyton. Pretty much equated to walking into a buzz saw at max rpms.

That said, the 49ers have been hot and cold this year and they looked utterly lost out there last night.

Denver will do the same to Chargers in few days.

Arm Strength helps but it's overrated.

Granted limited arm strength can limit you pretty badly but once you get to a certain point all that extra arm strength doesn't help you that much.

Most of the guys that people would say have the strongest arms in the league are rather mediocre QB's overall.  Meanwhile Peyton Manning's arm has turned into a noodle but he's still routinely putting up 300 yards and 3 TD's.

In fact this may go to show that the most underrated aspect in a QB is intelligence and the ability to read defenses which Manning is a master at.  If Manning wasn't so good at that I can't see him playing in the NFL right now.

And Denver did run up the score.

Ehh there is a very fine line between running up the score and making sure the game is out of reach before you pull your starters.

If an offense suddenly gets hot in the NFL it can score quickly and often.  Is it likely to happen that late in the game?  No but can it happen?  Yes.

Also I would have to mention that given that Ronnie Hillman scored 2 TD's in that game I would point out that they ran the ball plenty near the end of the game to try and kill clock.  The fact that the 49er's couldn't stop the run is meaningless.

No solution. It is not a problem. I would have preferred he played the whole game and put even more. Just making the point that they did run it up.

you are contradicting.

They didn't run up the score. When the starters are on the field, they play to score. You can't expect them to throw incompletions. That is why he was benched 17 minutes before the game.

Oh yeah I get it. It's just amazing to see him sling the ball that fast and far. I'm just saying with an attribute like that + the ability to read defenses well and make reads would = a really good QB.

Kaep has the tools to be really good, he just needs to be more... cerebral i guess

No contraction just stating what happened. I have no issue with it. Score as much as you can when you can.

Denver is by far and away the best team in the AFC and possibly in all of football.

Denver has a slightly better offense and, arguably, a better defense than Indy. If nothing else both offense and defense are close enough to be a wash.

I'd give us the edge by a mile in special teams, though. I think Indy is a more complete team than Denver, and we can hang with/beat them. Just depends which team plays harder and gets more breaks on any given night between us. We'll probably meet in the AFC title game, but I wouldn't sleep on NE and SD if only because of their QB's.
