IRVING, Texas -- Cornerback Morris Claiborne skipped the Dallas Cowboys' walk-through practice and angrily left the club's Valley Ranch training facility Tuesday after being informed that Orlando Scandrick was replacing him in the starting lineup, multiple sources said.

The Cowboys could fine Claiborne for missing the practice or conduct detrimental to the team. Claiborne has started two of the Cowboys' three games amid Scandrick's 2-game suspension to start the season.

He hasn't done anything to warrant his high draft selection.  He's young and has size, so I think some potential is there.  Perhaps having him work with a secondary guru like Pagano could really bring out the talent?  His attitude does need fixing though

He's done wonders with vontae and butler. Trade a 6th haha

I wouldn't even trade a booger for him. And I don't mean Booger McFarland either.

He's as legitimate of a 1st round pick as Ryan Leaf and Akili Smith. I laughed when people suggested we trade Greg Toler and Kelvin Shepherd for him. That'd be a trade, ridiculously in Dallas's favor.

We all know the Cowboys defense is awful. Was Claiborne good at man to man coming out of college? I would be all for trying to get him if that is the case. Not to say I don't think our cornerbacks are good, when playing well they can be one of the best groups in the NFL. Always open to get even better though.

Like coltsrule said, I wouldn't give up anything more than a 6th.  If I'm feeling really generous, I'll give them a 5th, but then probably ask for a conditional pick in return.  A logical team certainly wouldn't take that trade, given his age and draft status....but this is not a logical team we're talking about here, it's the Cowboys

Claiborne was considered a good-great prospect in man to man schemes but struggled in zone and was thought to be at his best if allowed to press and play man. I believe several analysts said he had the best ball skills in years.

This just needed to be quoted :-)

Some years I think these "analysts" just try their hardest to hype a player. Claiborne was that guy in his draft.

Nah I don't think that was the case with Claiborne at all.  His play at LSU is what hyped him.  He was a great press/man CB which is why Dallas drafted him, to work him into the Rob Ryan defense.  Unfortunately, I think it was after Claiborne's rookie year that Ryan was fired and they brought in Monte Kiffin to implement an entirely new defense predicated mostly on zone coverage, which is not Claiborne's strength.  They basically did the opposite of what the Colts did after going from Caldwell to Pagano.

He's a man to man CB like Peterson was at LSU

He's not a zone. It's like when the Eagles ruined Nnamdi Asougmha with their zone defense

Claiborne is a "Hey, go cover him all game" kind of CB. He's not meant to be in zone
