Not ready for primetime? Your memory is not very long.

Our biggest problem was that we did not finish our first 2 games. Our opponents did finish so they deserved the wins.

I am confident that if we played them each again, over the next few weeks, that we would win both games. It does not matter what day or night we played them.

It probably has nothing to do with the fact that we played 2 very good teams in the prime time games and the Jaguars (less than very good) in the non-prime time game.

i don't know if pressure is our issue, losing to Denver @Denver in the opening game isn't shocking or bad, and I think we all agree we let one slip through our fingers vs Philly. We lost 2 in a row for the first time since Luck became our QB, thats pretty damn good, and a lot of teams lose 2 in a row, its not a big deal, and it doesn't signify we have a big problem yet at all.

Meh, Most of us know the Colts have some problems, No team is perfect EVEN if they go undefeated. Always room for improvement. Pressure is not one of the teams issues as a whole. With that said that was a good TEAM win

We came out looking to put a team down early and keep them down...A team that at this point we should be able to do that to....and we did just that. Good win but a win vs a QB who just has not gotten it done in the league and another who came in and started his first game when that team was already down 30. Compared to the league average 41.8% on 3rd down we were great....57%...Which New Orleans is #1 for the year at 62%, I absolutely loved some of the play calls in this game, Especially the early play action passes, I do however think more could have been done to take some of the pressure off Luck that Jax was getting...such as the play at 12:39 1st Quarter......Mewhort was pulling on that play from left to right, Castonzo was Down Blocking on #93 which freed up #56 to come right up the middle...On a design like that I think you have Richardson run the counter and have him either turn for a pass(which he appeared to do not using the Counter actually but I think he needs to get deeper if he is going out for a pass or wave his hands around saying....Hey! look at me!)  or block that Linebacker....Not a knock on Richardson on that play though

I think our problem was playing Denver in Denver for the first game of the season probably worn us down because of the altitude. The first string isn't in full game shape yet. Then follow it up with Philly and we were gased. Our defense was exhausted against Philly in the second half. If we had a different team in the second game and Philly as the third game we would have beat them.

I actually agree with the OP...

I've said as much in a few other threads, that opening up the season with back to back prime time games (and part of prime time includes facing more formidable foes) definitely didn't "help" the team any...

it definitely wasn't the "reason" the team started off 0-2, but I agree that it didn't help any either...

this years preseason saw a lot of starters resting, & little to no real chemistry, or whatever you want to call it, was really developed, so that may have carried over a little into the regular season, as was evidenced by the slow start against Denver...

Not sure why the notion that had the NFL schedule seen the Colts facing off against Denver & Philly a little later in the season that the games may have turned out differently, is such a crazy idea...

but of course it is what it is,

anyways carry on...

It's not what time we play, it's who we play at that time.  Pretty simple.

over simplification,

so there's no home field advantage for an East Coast team playing a traveling West Coast team???

I don't think it was the "deciding" factor or it was such "crazy" pressure that caused the team to buckle and caused the losses, but I don't think two prime time games in a row was to "this" teams advantage either, (slow starts, lack of anything to build from pre-season, etc.)

I guarantee when odds makers were making lines, they took notice that the Colts were playing back to back prime time games...

No, my point was that it didn't matter that they were prime time games. It was more about who we played in those games.

If we would have played the Jags on MNF, I think the outcome would have been about the same.

I don't think we have a problem... AT ALL!  We barely lost to 2 great teams.  Why does there have to be a REASON or BLAME for EVERYTHING!!  We kind of proved what we are capable of against the Jags.  Granted they're one of the worst in the league, but I still think we can score 30+ on just about any team.

This spoiled fan base has reached embarrassing levels.

I know it seems that way sometimes but I think a few people are just really vocal.

But I'll say this, sometimes I think fans give up way too soon.  The year we won the superbowl many people had given up late in the season...........seemed that way to me anyway
