We will be lucky to be 12-4.

Got to factor in 2 losses just because of our coaches

So you're picking 14-2! Sweet.

Mathis was a huge part of our beating the Broncos last year. Plus we were allowed to mug their receivers.

Both are gone for this game. Going to be a tough one.

yea give the media more ammo to bash the colts

Again, who cares? Its meaningless. I haven't heard anyone bash the colts and losing to the broncos in Denver wouldn't be a shocker to any team in the NFL. The colts will be the underdog when the spreads come out. It doesn't mean the colts can't win.

i say 10-6

I think 10-6 is about right too. I see them losing at least one game in the South this year and two would not surprise me. I do believe the prediction is right that our Colts will start the season 0-2. Some teams never come back from that kind of start but I believe the Colts will.

How is that at all relevant to anything football related?

It is just an analogy. How is his refusing to believe that Denver will beat the Colts in week one of any merit. I was pointing out that he was dreaming and there was no basis to his belief. What he was displaying was faith. There is nothing wrong with that but you can't and you never have to back up faith with any facts or evidence. That is just about the definition of faith.

and why wouldnt it be a shocker? denver isnt unbeatable. that is been proven time and time again.

Because they have one of the best offenses in the league. I'm not saying the colts can't win, i believe they can. But if they don't i won't be shocked. I would be shocked if we lose to the browns or redskins. But not the broncos

I wouldn't be surprised if the Colts went 14-2 or 13-3.  They do have an easier schedule this year.  They play in the AFC south and face the NFC north.

The only teams I see giving them a run for their money during the season are the Broncos, Pats, Eagles and Ravens.  The Colts play the Pats, Eagles and Ravens all at home too.

The Colts SHOULD capitalize on their easier schedule and get home field through out in the AFC in the playoffs.

True, they still have both thomas's and Sanders. We will be missing mathis.

davis can handle thomas again and latimore will have trouble with butler, its toler vs sanders thats the wild card and most likely either jackson or freeman will be on j.thomas. mathis is a huge loss, but we've had consistent pressure in the pre-season so hopefully it carrys forward

I agree. Hopefully Davis is preparing for Tom Brady again. If so, he will dominate again

You seem a decent enough kid but my goodness some of the things you post are just baffling.

Not seeing that Denver is more than capable of beating the Colts is one of those items.

we lose and here come the fluke talk and how we got lucky

Total nonsense - there will be no such talk. 1) Denver is a really good team, playing at home. The Colts will be underdogs and expected to lose. and 2) how does losing the first game of the 2014 season translate into anything they have done previously into a fluke.

Who is freaking bashing the Colts? They are near universally predicted to be AFC South Champs and there are plenty thinking there could be a deep playoff run - see Peter King. And more importantly, who cares?

So to sum up - your premise is wrong and based on meaningless and incorrect statements.

Oh Dear God...

Just simply no. It will not be viewed that way at all. Not one credible person will say anything of the kind.

When digging yourself into a hole, stop digging. Let this one go. You have continually made really bad points in this thread so I would just stop.

One more time...

Stop digging.

The discussion, should the Colts lose, will be:

1) Denver looks loaded again.

2) The Colts still have interior line issues that need shoring up

3) Indy sure does miss Robert Mathis.

4) They lost this game but the Colts will be a team to reckon with in the AFC again this year

It will not be - well this proves that the game in Indy a year ago was a complete fluke. There may refence to it, in large part of Manning's return, but NO ONE will call that win a fluke. Absolutely no one.

I hope youre right. course I also hope youre wrong because that would mean we lost

If we play like we did against the Saints Denver will beat us

If we play like we did against Denver last year (minus the random sequential order of our DB's dropping like flies) then we'll Win

If they don't play the way they did last season against them the colts will get killed in this game they have to get to Peyton and they have to figure out away to mess up the timing with his WR's without getting flagged 25 times for that stupid Illegal contact. if they don't do to them what they did last season and get constant pressure on Peyton we will not win this game period.

im sure the flag count will go down. they always go flag heavy in the preseason to get the new rule change enforced

Ryan tannehill is that you? I see you still haven't learned nfl divisions :)

    • Man I feel real strong about Brian Thomas jr. I think it's on and cracking if we get him. His game is just consistent and he is such a hard cover. I like him being paired with Pittman. I really do!
    • This is probably the most exciting nonplaying event of the year and it’s tomorrow. I just hope that Balllard  and the scouting department I’ve done their job thoroughly
    • @2006Coltsbestever @NFLfan   Kirk has been treated much better and with much more respect than Wentz was treated in Indy. And was showed with Love and truckloads of money in Minnesota, and was defended constantly with much more ferocity by Vikings fans than people defending Ballard in Grievances thread.    it'd be crazy to think of injustice against Kirk for a few minority who criticize his play.    We're Going back and forth on Kirk debate which will go on for eternity, but I struck Gold when I saw recently @Superman explaining how he felt watching Wentz playing with other teams before he got to Indy and how it felt watching him play for Colts when you're emotionally invested with the franchise.    There's no other way to perfectly describe Kirk Cousins' career and his QB play.   For every fan around the NFL, especially for fantasy football fans, Kirk will be a hero and am above average QB. But, when you're emotionally invested in your favourite franchise and Kirk plays QB for your team, you would come close to understanding how excruciatingly frustrating his play and smartness and game awareness are (or shortage of them are), that all contributes to team missing playoffs many years and even when they qualify, no one sees Kirk as a threat in playoffs. Ever. Your team would be paying Elite QB Money for that, and you'd be constantly in debate with criticizers Vs defenders. Until he plays for your team, you won't realize that, and I totally understand.    Anyway, happy to pass on that frustration over to Falcons fans, they'd know soon. First of all, Kirk takes at least a season or two to trust his OL, even if you put an elite line and weapons around him, and it's all in his head. I'm going to sit back and read Falcons forums for Fun in 2024 Season! Good Times!
    • I have no idea how it will all shake out, but I have my popcorn ready.
    • There are no owners in the NFL that are perfect people. Some owner's demons are more public, some not so much, but they all have them. There's much more to the free agency issue and the Colts than most are aware of. There are a lot of intangibles most will never consider. That said, there is more to almost every aspect of any organization that most will ever be aware of. Those are often the things that matter most.
