For the first time ever I am actually doubting what Trent Richardson will do this season!

Since he's been a part of Colts Nation I have stuck by his side but I am on the edge now! I do have a good amount of doubt!

I'm trying my hardest not to give up! I'm still on the bandwagon for now... Next stop is Denver!

If people really believe that T-Rich will suck that bad, I might as well kiss my Fantasy season goodbye.

He will suck more than what this prediction shows. I think he will be replaced as the starter after the first two games which could both be losses for our Colts (Stampede Blue is predicting starting the season 0-2). He isn't going to get that many yards per carry behind this line.

I think he will go well over 4000 yards because that is the only way this team can move the ball.

He didn't go over 4,000 last year. Almost, but missed it

It's not in Pep's mentality to have a QB throwing for 4,000 yards. That's not how he runs his offense and will eventually be his undoing here in Indy

That's why I find it laughable that the OP thinks Andrew will throw for almost 5,000 yards

imo grigs will pick up o-line help and trent will do good, colts still want to run the ball

How is it that you have all this book on Pep? He has three years as a play caller, college or pros. One year with the Colts. You're talking like it's Mike Martz, and you know for a certainty from 15 years of experience what he wants to do.

Based on the end of last year, and this preseason, I think Pep's play calling will be noticeably different.

Trent will catch moere than 11 passes if he's healthy..

and Whalen will catch far more than Moncrief. I hope Reggie's numbers are there. Thatr's a must.

5.000 is going to be the norm for an elite guy and with no real running game..we need' Mr. 5,000'

I think you're mis-reading Pep.

Luck would've had more than 4,000 yards if he had simply thrown for a higher completion percentage last year than he did (60%)

Pep has no aversion to throwing for more than 4,000 yards.    But I strongly suspect he doesn't want anything close to 5,000 yards because that would mean we're not running the ball well.     And if that's the case,  we're passing too much and Luck is getting sacked and hit way too often.

There's a balance that we're trying to achieve.    The current problem remains the interior of the OL.    It's still not fixed due to injuries.      If that gets fixed,  the offense will be better.

You can still throw for 5,000 and have a running game

A lot has to go right for that like having a defense giving you on average 4 "extra" possessions a game. But you can still do it

I don't think history says you're right.

Brees has had 5,000 yard seasons and the Saints have rarely had much of a running game.

Stafford has had 5,000 yard seasons and the Lions have rarely had much of a running game.

Any QB reaching for 5,000 yards is throwing too much and the team isn't running successfully enough.....

You need balance.

If the defense is doing that you don't need to throw the ball as much. See Seattle. Football 101

Moreno had 1,000 last year and Peyton had over 5,000 yards, but that's a very rare thing to happen.

this guy shows he is a 3 ypc guy why should u think anything other

Because it's not unreasonable to think he'd do better with even an average interior OL.

I don't know if we have that.   But hopefully it's better than last year.    Plus,  he knows the system better.   Plus, he's in better shape.

There are all sorts of reasons to expect a better year for TRich.

The question is....   How much better?    And unfortunately,  no one knows that right now.

Passing

Andrew Luck: 390 CMP/620 ATT/62.9% CMP%/4,863 yards/27 TDs/11 INTs /92.52 QB Rating

I don't see Luck passing 620 times.   That's 50 more than last year.    And I think nearly 4900 yards is also not happening.

Rushing

Trent Richardson: 201 carries / 723 yards / 3.6 Yards per Carry / 6 TDs

Feels about right,  wouldn't be surprised if it's closer to 240-250 carries.

Ahmad Bradshaw: 167 carries / 684 yards / 4.1 yards per carry / 4 TDs

        This feels about right too.

Daniel Herron: 44 carries / 167 yards / 3.8 Yards per Carry / 1 TD

I think Blood on the Tracks could be on to something.    And his numbers could be two to three times what you have.

Andrew Luck: 57 carries / 319 yards / 5.7 Yards per Carry / 4 TDs

Not sure I see Luck running this often.

Zurlon Tipton: 14 carries / 55 yards / 3.9 Yards per Carry / 0 TDs

Receiving

Reggie Wayne: 78 catches / 936 yards / 12 Yards per Catch / 5 TDs

     This feels about right.

T.Y. Hilton: 74 catches / 1,073 yards / 14.5 Yards per Catch / 6 TDs

       So, does this...

Hakeem Nicks: 49 catches / 740 yards / 15.1 Yards per Catch / 3 TDs

I'm hopeful Nicks has more numbers than this, but I doubt he has a higher yards per catch than Hilton does.

Coby Fleener: 47 catches / 526 yards / 11.2 Yards per Catch / 4 TDs

What jumps out here is that you have Coby with a smaller yards per catch than Allen.   If that happens,  then our offense is completely screwed up!     Coby should have the 12.6,  Allen with the 11.2

Dwayne Allen: 40 catches / 503 yards / 12.6 Yards per Catch / 3 TDs

Smaller on the yards per catch, and I expect more catches.    That number is only 2.5 per game.

Donte Moncrief: 27 catches / 310 yards / 11.5 Yards per Catch / 2 TDs

I'd guess that's about right on the catches, but I'd also guess longer on the YPC.

Griff Whalen: 26 catches / 260 Yards / 10 Yards per Catch / 2 TDs

           Feels about right for Griff...

Da’Rick Rogers: 20 catches / 212 yards / 10.6 Yards per Catch / 1 TD

DRR should have a much higher YPC than this.   We don't throw short to this guy very much.

Ahmad Bradshaw: 10 catches / 137 yards / 13.7 Yards per Catch / 1 TD

The only way AB has a 13.7 yards per catch average is if one of his catches is for 70-80 yards!  His number should be closer to 10.

Trent Richardson: 11 catches / 110 yards / 10 Yards per Catch / 0 TDs

Way more catches for Trent, and maybe even a higher per catch number too.  But more catches.

Daniel Herron: 8 catches / 56 yards / 7 Yards per Catch / 0 TDs

Feels OK...  but wouldn't be surprised if all numbers are larger...

*I expect a very big year for this offense, but I think Luck’s passing totals are too high.

This was fun!     Thanks for doing this!!

    • Idk?   I think Ballard has a lot more control on how this is disseminated than you are giving him. I'm sure he has final approval, this isn't like the in season NFL hard knock thing.(Which we still controlled what was put out there) This is a team made draft video to get fans hyped.     It did the job for me     I do agree that, that was just a random comment about a guy(being there at #15) they were actually generally talking about in natural conversations and the sound bite was used there. I don't think it was just a comment made to place at the end intentionally. Whether that guy might be there, or is someone who should no doubt be there is the question, and what should we take from it ending that way    And it might not of even been his idea to put that at the end, but when presented how to end it, agreed this is the best way to get the fans talking about it.     Either way it was a great cliff hanger. Like I said it brought about some conversation, so I think it did it's part.
    • I watched the semi final game between Washington and Texas last night and Odunze and Polk just destroyed Texas. Penix had around 400 yards.
    • I’ll have to search for Hicks’ break-down.  I hadn’t seen much tape of Bowers until a couple of weeks ago when I watched a highlight reel, and that was very impressive.  I’m just nervous about how hard it seems to be to predict TE success…
    • I was thinking a bit about what Ballard said in that clip from "Behind the Colts", about "he's not going to get much bigger". No idea if he was talking about Worthy... but if he is... he's right. Whether Worthy ends up playing at 165 or 176... this is still extremely small and light. Whether he's in the 1st percentile or 5th percentile of athlete's in weight in the league, this doesn't change the type of player and type of worries you would have about him with any significance. So... in a way, I kind of find that conversation a bit pointless. IMO the question should be - okay. he is small... and he will always be small. Can we work with that? And can we live with the risk of injury for that small of a player? And the answer can be no here... I'm not saying we necessarily need to take that risk.
    • You think the Ed Dodds you see in edited clips here is the same as the Ed Dodds who interviews with teams?   I don’t know you or anyone would think that?      He’s very much respected around the NFL which is why multiple teams ask to interview with them most every year.
