Probably not. Given that it is Thursday night football and how it puts you behind the 8 ball if you have a bad game.

In fact, in one of my leagues that I am in the final, I have the Titans going against Jacksonville and my 2nd RB is between Herron, Andre Williams, Jonathan Stewart, Toby Gerhart and Joseph Randle. I am hoping DeMarco Murray does not play.

However, chancing a player or two on Thursday night football, when there is uncertainty (when they are not a stud and the matchup is not that good), is something that burnt me in one of my leagues with my Rams D last week. I'd stay away from the Titans D and try play the Panthers' D vs Browns.

The Eagles vs rg3 looks good.

in another league, giants D or Texans.

Available, Patriots, cardinals, browns, Steelers.

Eagles' D plays better at home, are they at home or at Washington? Texans' D is fiesty. When you think they are hamstrung by their QB, their D always finds a way to keep them in games, IMO. Giants are on the road, Texans are at home, I'd take the Texans safely.

Patriots' D hands down vs Jets. Geno Smith cannot get consecutive first downs vs the Patriots defense even at home. If the Jets cannot run well, I do not see them putting up much resistance. It could be a 31-10 type of blowout though Rex Ryan has gotten the Jets to play the Pats tough in the past. I think that ends this time in a blowout.

Looking to see some opinions on my team fighting for the championship this week.

QB - Luck @ DAL

WR1 - Demaryius Thomas @ CIN

WR2 - Dez Bryant VS IND

WR3 - DeSean Jackson VS PHI

RB1 - Tre Mason VS NYG

RB2 - Mark Ingram VS ATL

TE - Jimmy Graham VS ATL

BN - Kenny Stills VS ATL

BN - Drew Brees VS ATL

BN - Julian Edelman @ NYJ

BN - Latavius Murray VS BUF

BN - RGIII VS PHI

K - Cody Parkey @ WAS

DEF/ST - Philadelphia @ WAS

BN - Baltimore @ HOU

A little background is that the opponent is starving for a QB, he is currently rolling with Ryan Tannehill, which i why I picked up RGIII off FA this morning.

QB - I'm Set w/ Luck

WR - I'm scared of Dez on Vontae Davis, especially if Murray misses the game. I'm not sure about WR either, DeSean Jackson cahsed in last time he played against his former team, Edelman is so hit or miss, and I feel Stills is inconsistent, but I guess he is just as inconsistent as DeSean, but then I'm really counting on the Saints, with a WR, and RB ,and a TE.

RB - I'm pretty much locked in here, Ingram is hit or miss, but Atlanta's the leagues worst run defense, so. you know.

TE- Yea

K - Connor Barth is available. Although Cody has been money all year.

DEF - Baltimore is sure to feast on the Texans offense, with there great run stop ability, and also facing a practice squad QB, however Philly Defense and Special Teams is a behemoth.

First off, gl in your championship game..

Im starting Baltimore D on my squad...for the reasons you mentioned already...plus, you do have Jacoby Jones who can break one at any time, just like Sproles..

K..stick with who got you there....

For this week, I would take Brees over Luck, but you have way too many Saints already..Luck's been struggling a bit the past couple weeks, Reggie is hurting, TY is hobbled a bit, and I don't think Nicks or Moncrief are going to be able to fill in those shoes, especially if they rest TY...Plus, the Cowboys D is much improved over earlier this year...Brees had been slumping, but really stepped up last week, and is playing in a dome at home (yeah i know they haven't been the same team at home, but this is for the playoffs, and I don't see Brees messing up now.)

WR is a toss up between Edleman and DeShaun...for the reasons you say..

Good luck in whatever you choose to do...

Go with the higher floor instead of looking for ceiling. Go with Edelman since it is harder to run vs the Jets, easier to pass. Against the Eagles, you can do both. DJax is that high risk high reward guy but Edelman is low risk low reward, better for a championship game.

I have C.J.Anderson, Jonathan Stewart, Dan Herron and Toby Gerhart myself, playing C.J.Anderson and Jonathan Stewart. My biggest worry is Toby Gerhart going off during TNF and I am left second guessing with an underachieving Jonathan Stewart. I am mainly playing Jonathan Stewart over Toby Gerhart because I have Joseph Randle on my bench. Playing Toby in an early TNF game does not give me the luxury of waiting till Sunday to see if Randle will be the starter.

In your options, I would have to go with Jeremy Hill or Pierre Thomas both playing at home. At home, Pierre Thomas is heavily involved in the passing game and they will be passing a lot vs the Falcons, the Saints that is.

What would you do in my case?

My championship roster:

QBs: Tom Brady, Matt Ryan

RBs: C J Anderson, Jonathan Stewart, Dan Herron, Andre Williams, Toby Gerhart, Joseph Randle

WRs: OBJ, Mike Evans, Randall Cobb

TE: Gates

D/ST: Panthers/Rams

K: Dan Carpenter

Would you do any different?

Nope not at all.

My other rb is mccoy with green, Wallace and Tate as my wr and flex. You say to grab Hill or Thomas over stewart?

Hill is going against the broncos.

No, Stewart is your first RB. Get Hill or Thomas for your 2nd RB. McCoy, against the Redskins, forget it.

Jeremy Hill and Pierre Thomas have the threat of a potent passing offense to aid them. Stewart has Cam Newton coming back most likely which will help with his running. Panthers' D has been playing well the last 2 games and chances are, they give Manziel enough grief, IMO, and thus be playing with a lead and their running game & D will dominate.

McCoy has Mark Sanchez, LOL, and a tough Redskins' run D to go against. I'm benching him.

Interesting, they are projecting him 16.4 points. Bortles is starting now. Ten a good play now?

I also have Herron but don't see him as a good play.

Who are they projecting 16.4?

Titans' D is on the road - Jags' offense can operate at least at a mediocre level against a porous run D. Running the ball minimizes Bortles taking sacks. If they run and punt, fantasy does not reward you for punts. If the Titans were a good run D and Bortles had to pass, it would expose his weakness of taking sacks. Against the Giants at home, the Jags gave up just about 11 pts at home and against the Texans at home, the Jags gave up about 10 pts at home in FF (traditional leagues without return yardage). While they take sacks, it will be easy enough to move the ball to score 20 vs the Titans, I feel, for the Jags. The Jags give up more FF points on the road.

I would not be playing the Titans' D unless I am in a 12 or 14 team league and am strapped for Ds.

Sorry, projecting mccoy 16.2. I think I'm going to play a flyer with Gerhart. Siriusxm fantasy channel puts him as the top rb play. So him and stewart. Can't trust hill against Denver D. Thomas is tempting.

Gerhart got one TD but Todman got the big run, still not a shabby 11 points for Gerhart so far. I hope you did not play the Titans' D.

Okay, Got a big Championship game coming up in a friends league that I've done for years. It's a 3 WR, 2 RB league.

I have Joique Bell and Marshawn Lynch starting at the moment, but am tempted to bench Lynch and start Tre Mason.

Thoughts? and thanks

Tough choice but I think the quandary is bell or mason.

I'm still stuck on defense. Have Panthers starting. Have colts and broncos on bench. Can get Giants, Rams, or 49ers.

If you get return yardage, Rams are worth looking at while playing at home.  The Giants are good with their special teams too. Eli has not been turning it over as much lately and Shaun Hill did not look that impressive last game but then, it was against the Cardinals defense. Giants are not in the same class, defensively.

I saw a stat that Kaepernick has the highest pct. per play sack rate of all QBs in the NFL. So, I have this weird feeling that the Chargers, who restricted Brady to 23 and Peyton to 22 points, might be a sleeper special teams pick. Don't hold me to it but those pesky Chargers have been playing better on D than on O. I expect that to continue in a must-win game vs the 49ers.

For what it is worth, I am personally starting the Panthers and hoping it will work out.

The thing with Mason is, if the Rams get into a shootout, Benny Cunningham is the 3rd down pass catching back and sees more downs over Mason. With Joique Bell playing vs the Bears, there is a good chance that the Lions are playing ahead vs Clausen more.

I'd lean towards Joique Bell for that reason.

Martellus Bennett (vs. Detroit) or Dwayne Allen (@ Dallas)? Thanks.

Contrary to popular thinking (Jimmy Clausen vs Andrew Luck making Dwayne Allen a slam dunk), I am going to lean towards Bennett. Most new starting QBs get flustered fast enough and even if the pocket around them is not collapsing, their mental clock goes faster. So, they take checkdowns. So, Matt Forte and Bennett, and not the usual starting wideouts outside will be benefiting from Jimmy Clausen, IMO. Hence Bennett. Plus, Allen has Fleener and other underneath guys to steal targets from him. Bears do not really have a standout slot wideout. So, Bennett.

Lesean McCoy....

I never saw that McCoy thing coming. I benched him in one league but then I was eliminated last week, thanks to McCoy, courtesy of Chip. It looks like when yahoo says something, do the opposite. Chip must read those yahoo fantasy columns and do the opposite, it seems like. Yahoo said "guys that can lose your championship game and highlighted McCoy", the opposite happened. I remember when the Jets used to have very good pass D, yahoo wrote a column "maybe it might be time to bench Brady for this week going against the Jets" but then Brady goes off. They did say "Tre Mason will go off this weekend", I shudder to think what will happen. They said "Kenny Stills will go off vs the Panthers" and then Brees and Stills both lay eggs and I get eliminated in another league.

I hate Chip Kelly to be honest. He gives 2 goal line TDs to flipping Chris Polk on SNF last week, so Sanchez and McCoy lose my FF playoff game last week. This week, Sanchez was lighting it up thanks to 50 plus pass attempts, and McCoy is not taken out for Chris Polk. I hated that with a passion, so much that I was rooting badly for the Eagles to lose out of spite. I cheered so much when Sanchez threw that final drive INT and when the Eagles lost. It made me even happier because my opponent had Maclin and Cody Parkey last week, the one who beat me. When both of those underachieved tonight and the Eagles lost tonight, it made my day. Serves Chip Kelly well for messing up my FF playoffs last week. Bad Karma for Chip :).

Besides, it took Chip to realize he could actually use Zach Ertz now and make him FF relevant??? Really???

I have nothing more to add. ;)

Championship game off to a bad start. Opponent plays McCoy and I play Parkey. Parkey misses TWO field goals. Ugh.

This whole D. Murray thing is hurting me too. If he doesn't play then the choice of players at 4:25 or later is pretty limited.

Good luck to everyone in their playoff games today!

With Edelman ruled out, do I sit Tom Brady in favor of Matt Ryan? I was going with Tom Brady but now, LeGarette Blount and Julian Edelman are both ruled out. Something tells me it will be a low scoring Patriots win dominated by the Patriots run game, D and scoring just enough to beat the Jets but not going off. Rex Ryan normally plays Brady tough and with Edelman going down, he might hone in on Gronk and force Amendola and Lafell to beat him which might limit Brady's production.

Thoughts???

Thank god I dropped Parkey for Barth yesterday before the game and slid DeSean Jackson in for Edelman.

Only thing I wish I would have done was drop the eagles defense in favor of Baltimore.

Tom Brady or Matt Ryan? What do you think, with Edelman out (which I never saw coming)?

I had already said Ryan before. Do I do the same by taking the chance on picking up Flacco or Newton? I only have Brady cause cutler was sat. There's also Alex Smith.

Thanks.

Is it 6 pts for passing TD or 4 pts? If it is 4 pts, Cam Newton being given rushing closer to the goal line always adds value, hence I'd play him.

I am not in favor of Flacco who has been hit and miss on the road. Alex Smith, they have opened the offense more for him and it is a good matchup but out of the 3, Cam Newton is the only one playing at home, right? However, it is a must win for all those teams needing to get into the playoffs.

It boils down to Cam Newton or Alex Smith, whoever you are comfortable with. If you think Jamaal Charles will eat into Alex Smith's production more than Jonathan Stewart will eat into Cam Newton's, you can go with Cam Newton. However, if you are not 100% sold on Cam Newton's return from his injury, I'd play it safe with Alex Smith. Though I have been eliminated in another league, FYI, I am playing Alex Smith in a 3rd place game, just thought I'd add.

More comfortable with Cam Newton. Just don't know with him over brady. It's a 4pt passing td.

Yeah....this is Rex's last dance versus NE, in all probability...I'd be surprised if the Pats rout them with Edelman out.

And the Falcons v Saints is almost sure to be a track meet in the Super Dome.

One note of caution is Shane Vereen though....I can see him used very heavily in this game.

Tough call, Chad....good luck.

I ask nobody to buy colts products for 3 months if you play fantasy football. They say they do not care about those fans who play fantasy, well if they do not care about us then they should not care about us spending our money on them. Take Luck out??? Do they reallize this was the fantasy superbowls this week???? Well that pulling him just cost me $6000 dollars by 1 point!!!!!!!!!!! They probably do not care because it is just stupid fantasy football and $6000 means nothing to them, but as their fans and drafting their players, well guess what that $6000 is a lot of money for me. If you are not going to put your best team on the field and you do not care about your fans, then I guess that myself I have $6000 dollars I can't spend on Colts items. That money probably means nothing to you but it means a lot to me and probably a lot of other fantasy fans or yours. I ask all fantasy players not to buy Colt items off of their site but to wait for 3 to 6 months to let them know there is a lot of us to answer to. Coach please answer to this.
