One angle, sort of critical, is that we don't have any of Grigson's 6th rounders on the roster right now. Maybe Andrew Jackson hits the PS. So we have to determine how valuable a 6th rounder is to our team.

 

Still, I'm fine with the move. I think Burley is better than Purifoy, based on preseason, but Purifoy was okay also, and can return punts. Fair move.

 

I think of all things, I trust Pagano's input on the DB's and his evaluations along with position coaches.  That's always been his wheelhouse.

Poor Champ Bailey..

Dude is quite rich, still healthy enough to play football and young enough to enjoy the rest of his life after a stellar career.  He's among the last people I would feel sorry for.  Father time is undefeated, but for him, he got out with his health and his money and his amazing career intact! Someone may actually still pick him up but even if they don't, he's leaving on a high note of life.

Sam actually had a good preseason so saying he's not good is a tad bit invalid

According to Jeff Saturday, as a pass rush, Michael Sam was not to be feared or even concerned with.  Slow first step, no power or speed move to worry about.  He said the only thing he had going for him was that he'd make you keep your fundamentals going the entire play because he has a high motor and relentless effort.  He said there's just no need for his skill set.  It was also said he could not play ANY special teams and was vying for the 9th D lineman spot with the first 8 locked down and battled it out with a guy who could play every position on the DLine and on special teams.  Face it, the guy was a specialist in College Football and it isn't translating to the NFL.  He might still make a team somewhere desperate for any pass rushers, but it doesn't sound like anything we'd have reason to consider.

it's about time. chalk up another horrible tread for grigson, a starting lb for nothing. will this or the richardson trade be worse over time? i really think richardson would be cut also if he didn't have a guaranteed contract. that's why cleveland got rid of him.

I didn't know Grigson was in the tyre business with all this talk of horrible treads... Maybe the tyre kicking business :P
