Scouting Dept now that Telesco has been gone for 2 years

Scouts remember and maybe keep info from years past, so if Telesco takes his own scouting reports he had from the past, is that proprietary to the Colts or Chargers? Same with Grigson and the Eagles.

The only comparison you can make is their draft picks they have made and free agent signings (NFL, CFL etc.) they have made once they got into the Colts and Chargers organizations. It takes about 4 years for a rebuilding mode (both the Colts and Chargers went through it) to see full fruition of the GM's efforts. 2 more years and we might have a better idea, IMO.

Telesco has cherry picked a few players off the Colts, which is to be expected. I think it's a tad early to compare the two, but my initial thoughts right now are:

Grigson: is better at finding diamonds in the rough, scouring every nook and cranny for gems.

Telesco: is better at letting the draft board fall to him and making adjustments on the fly.

It hasn't been two years -- yet.

Telesco left after the 2012 season.

He ran San Diego in 2013 and now for 2014.

And part of the reason he's done so well,  is his team wasn't/isn't that good, so he's got higher draft picks than, say,  Indianapolis which has won 11 games both years.

They're picking higher, so their picks -- in theory -- should be better.

By the way,  we didn't fire Telesco.   Just like we didn't fire Arians.    They both got better job offers.    We're happy for them.

I hope this is not going to turn into a  "Telesco is a better GM than Grigson"  thread.    At least,  not yet.
