fullback

"The less one dimensional fullback, the better."

There's nothing inherently wrong with a FB, what's wrong is our FB might as well wave a flag saying "We're going to be running this one between the tackles guys". Use them in the passing game, use them in P/A, at least make opposition D's think a little.

I'm suprised no one else has brought this up yet this off season...

The problem I have is that whenever the fullback is in the game in our offense everyone in the stadium knows it's a run play.

It felt like all the RB's did better including Trent when we where in a single back formation.

Yep. Saints game

Trent's best 2 runs came from the Pistol & Shotgun

When/if Pep realizes that Havili is a pass catching FB then Havili will be more affective because then defenses will have to think about the run and pass. Havili was only targeted 21 times last year in 13 games and that's just silly, Been saying it for a while now

I don't think they necessarily need to get Havili involved in the passing game, but I do think they need to more effectively pass out of formations that include the FB.  They did seem to pass more out of 21 personnel when Hasselbeck and Harnish were in, but when Luck was in it seemed like every play with 21 personnel was a run.  They need to switch that up and pass more out of those sets, and pass effectively.

I have said the exact same thing Harvey might as well run in with big sign saying WE ARE RUNNING IT. I don't want to start on Pep I think I have made my opinion of the guy and his NFL ability known.

Get rid of the FB, I did in Madden haha

BTW, for you Madden players. Colts using Denver's playbook= Untouchable :cheer:

And it makes sense since we have all these weapons. I always have at least 3 WR's on the field 95% of the time. The 5% being when I have Allen at traditional TE and Coby Fleener flexed out in the slot

Trent Richardson so far has 660 yards rushing with a 3.6 YPC stat (180 touches). 25 Receptions for 200 yards

Going into week 7 next time I play Madden

This.

Just use Allen in the FB position since he can do it all. You can call him hback, hybrid, xfactor, Dwayne the Pain, whatever. Since Havili and Harvey aren't lighting the world on fire, give Allen a shot at it.

We need a fullback, that's just how our offense runs. Our FB needs to be able to run block great. We haven't seen the package with a FB yet. So hold your breath until the season starts. We could run a package with Nick, Wayne and TY spread out wide with our RB and FB in the backfield. Havili is great catching passes out of the back. He can't block well though. That's why Harvey is being used. Please everyone just be patient with the run game.

    • Honest question, have we gotten any indication that they want to make the defensive playcalling more diverse?  In terms of incorporating more man coverage, that is.
    • If all these players are available then that would definitely give Ballard a reason to trade back a few spots.  Since he could still one of them.
    • I think Q Mitchell will be gone as well. Main reason I’m all for moving up this year. Imo the elite guys at each position will be gone by our selection. We’ll be picking from the 2nd tier of players. Hopefully we can get to #9 somehow. I’d rather have a higher end guy than what might be left.
    • Ok for the Colts "Cluster" at 15.  Ballard will stay put at 15   WR BTJ AD Mitchell   CB/Safety Arnold Q Mitchell Dejean   Edge Verse Latu Chop Robinson   One of these guys will be a Colt tomorrow night.
    • You speak as if we don't understand how life without Kirk will be. And, you had no clue how it was with Kirk either, which you don't seem to understand even after pointing out (now for 3rd time). You also speak as if Kirk has Vikings at the top of the division, lol   The best part of life without Kirk is it will be a step towards getting a permanent franchise QB, because (a) Kirk is not that (b) no use in waiting for a 36-year old to become franchise QB. We'd rather have Darnold and pick closer to top 10 or better rather than paying 40+ million for a finish in draft range of 14 - 25.    When you say Vikings had more patience because he was good, you overlook the amount of money he was milking while being slightly above average. Whatever worth Kirk was being better than Wentz, he got paid very well for that too, so that only adds to more frustration about finding a franchise QB.    If you pay 40+ million for a QB for average results year after year for 6 years, you'd feel the frustration but at this point you're not able to look from others' perspective so no point in discussing further.
