Robert Mathis suspension: Saturday is the day

@KBowenColts: Pagano says starting Saturday at 4:00 p.m., Robert Mathis' suspension begins. Can’t be in the building for four weeks.

We'll miss you Mathis!!!!!

@KBowenColts: Pagano jokes about the zero contact with Mathis, even at the grocery: “If he’s in the deli, I’ve got to be in the produce."

Why do they ban them from the facility and practice and contact with the team?

Seems like making it so they can't play and arn't getting paid would be enough.

That's the NFL for you. I too believe that's a bit much. They should be able to travel with the team and everything except practice and pkay

I think it's so they feel the full effect of the suspension. That their decision means they can't even be with the team in any form or fashion. Even though in Mathis' case it wasn't his fault, but it'd be too controversial and tedious to give out different stipulations for every suspension.

I think they should be able to practice, but not travel with the team or play.

Honestly I think having the contact with the teammates during practice might make it more likely that they stop doing whatever drug they where doing.

Having that contact during practice might give them the fuller effect of "I've let these guys down" more then keeping them out of contact.

Also people practice and work out specifically so they can play on Sunday.  Making them put int he work but not be able to play on Sunday could help too.

I guess Goodell was a kindergarten teacher at some point in life. Using timeout principles

The suspension layouts are similar to timeout when you got put in the corner and had to face the wall without interacting with anyone.

Ah.... Those were the good days. Corners became my right hand partner I spent so much time in them haha

You say that as if it were in the past. Well, as for me...
