CJ Spiller Speculation (Merge)

Recommended Posts

I doubt it, unless they're delusional. Nobody is going to give up that much for an injury prone, 27 year old in a contract year.

Im just sayin (without actually saying) if this does happen and Grigson gets him Ill be relieved after I see what we gave up...Hopefully,

Who said it would be long term and a high draft pick?

The Colts won't get Spiller for less than a 3rd round pick (a miracle if they get him for a 4th). If they trade for him, they would at least want to keep him around for a little bit (beyond a year).

Either way, it seems like this is purely speculation, even with La Confora saying it.

I kind of think it's pure rumor myself. When someone starts off by saying they wouldn't be surprised if something happens then it is rumor IMO. If something was going to happen it would be a done deal before we as fans would know it.

I looked on NFL.com and he's only missed 3 games.  He's played in every other game.  I might be wrong though.

You are right he is just always banged up gets little or no time he is a fantasy nightmare but he is always dressed. It is usually he ankle or knee.

I really don't see that trade happening. If Grigs trades for another RB I will lose my mind.

There are plenty of RB's that will be released to fill our need if we have one hard to tell how they feel about Tipton. Trent, Bradshaw and Boom are on the team. IMO

Trent hasn't been that bad until Pep goes Power or whatever he calls it. I like to call it hey you guys see the FB coming in we are running up the middle load the box.

We should try more singleback runs with 3 WR and 1 TE.  At least then they'll play the pass most likely and then Richardson won't have as many defenders on the line of scrimmage waiting for him.

That is when the entire offense is at it's best the only thing holding us back IMO is the guy calling the formations.

It was only one year ago that you were singing the praises of CJ Spiller.    And you were singing loudly.

And CJS had a good year last year.

Why have you cooled so much in just one year....?

I haven't. I love him as a player. I would love for him to be a Colt. He's just not worth a first. No RB is.

We are not trading for Spiller. This tweet is pure speculation. That tweet is simply saying that if TRich is a bust and Bradshaw is hurt/ineffective that the Colts might consider it come time of the trade deadline. A time that might merit the lowest value for said RB.

Hey I ain't saying what we should do to get Spiller, but if Grigs does happen to go that route I'll be all for it to be quite honest as long as he doesn't make the mistake of giving away a kings ransom.  I think he'd go well with Bradshaw, and I'd love to have that 4.28 speed in the backfield.  A big back with speed and great moves! I'm cool if you call me crazy, but getting him from Buffalo could have a similar impact as when Faulk was traded from Indy to the Rams.  Or something like when Corey Dillon went from the Bengals to the Patriots.....

The Bills need a MLB the Colts have some very nice ones...    I can totally see a player like Freeman and a 3 or 4 for Spiller.    CJ is 10X the player Trrent is.

Spiller going to the Colts? Let's see how T-Rich does before they get into another long-term commitment that will involve a high draft pick.

Freeman is much more valuable to the Colts then adding Spiller would be, Freeman is our teams best cover ILB along with D Jackson

Running Backs

Joe McKnight-Chiefs

Marcus Thigpen-Dolphins

Jordan Todman-Jaguars

Leon Washington-Titans

Are some of the running backs Im looking at...Not to start but to challenge Karims Return job these next two games (We don't need another starting running back right now)

CJ is a beast, and no doubt id love to see him wearing the horshoe. But at the same time, I really don't think RB is the problem. 99% of the time Trent is hit in the backfield. So if we were to trade, hopefully it'd be for Boone, and even then it is hard knowing that our offensive weapons with contracts coming up are going to be expensive and we will need all the $$$ we can save.

I really hope the Colts don't drop big money on receivers and tight ends. The Patriots and Packers usually perform really well because they understand that since they have a franchise quarterback that they dont have to overpay receivers. Money would be better spent on defense and a line. Grigson seems to have a knack for finding receivers out of nowhere.
