OG Donald Thomas re-tore quad.

What happens when the strength of the muscle exceeds the tear-strength of the tendons? Donald Thomas should know. Apparently, he has exceeded the physical limits of his body. The training staff is probably aware that this is an individual limit - it varies from player to player - so one size does not fit all. Stronger does not always mean better.

It's a bad break, however this is your bust alert. 14 million deal for a guy whos played 2 games.. yeeekk. time to move on with injury settlement

I don't think it's necessary to do that.  We first want to see how Mewhort performs.

Secondly and more importantly we are very much not in need of cap space.  Just IR him since he's a vested vet and move on and see if he can come back next year.

In retrospect maybe he should have started on PUP. But he was cleared. Sucks for him, will be difficult to come back from.

Many of us expected he would be on PUP, but like you say, he was cleared. It's hard to pick at the decision the doctors and trainers came to.

Yea lets move on to a sub par vet who hasn't played in a year

I'll be civil and ask. Besides whining and complaining, what do you suggest the Colts do?

BTW, whining and complaining aren't going to win you any likes, nor will people take your post seriously. If you don't care about that, carry on.

I feel for Thomas, bad break for the Colts!

On the positive side...

We get to see if the youngsters got what it takes.

Obviously the "plug n play" Veteran/FA tactic of the past two years has not been successful.

Although not ideal, we get to see what we got in these young guys...

IF it works out our O-line is set for the near future, maybe longer.

IF NOT, it's hard to imagine it being worse than the past two years, ever so, we may need to endure some pain to truly BTM.

Got to build a solid O-line sometime; maybe on the job training, baptism by fire is the way to go.

Scary thoughts, but might be what we are left with!

Firstly I'm not here for likes, secondly these forums are here for colts fans to express their opinions as fans etc., and thats what I'm doing.  Im pretty sure there have been topics you have whined and complained about as Im "doing now".  To answer your question, I think we should give Mewhert or Ulrich a chance at the spot

I feel like I'm watching the football version of "Final Destination" where our IR'd players from last year, who fought back into shape, survived a "Final Destination" like accident and now it's coming back for them. First Vick and now DT . . . Make it stop!

At least it happened early in training camp so whomever is going to take his place will get as much time as possible to be ready week 1.  If it had to happen at least it happened now instead of week two or three.

The question mark hanging over our offensive line definitely got bigger with this injury. Hopefully are young guys can step up.
