Really? Not counting the Colts, how many?

1 the Steelers who drafted him in the 5th round in 2012 was signed to a four year deal  picked up battery charges led to his release then signed with us. That  guy doesn't know what he is talking about .

I am surprised can't wait to hear what this knuckle head did. It is to bad he was having a good camp from all I read and really explosive player.

The rap on him was that he's just too small --  couldn't run inside and couldn't block. Might have been OK as a kick return guy, but not worth keeping him around if he's hell-bent on being a knucklehead. He may have been an "explosive" player, but it looks like he pretty much "self-detonated" whatever hopes he had for an NFL career.

I think it depends strongly on who you are though.

Rainey is a guy that is expendable so there is no reason to put up with anything from him.  But if say TY Hilton breaks some team rules, there might be consequences but it's unlikely he gets cut at the first violation.  We probably wouldn't even hear about it.

Rainey also has a track record. I think the coaches here are willing to allow a minor mistake one time, but then they keep you on a short leash (see Brazzill).  TY is a stud, so yes there is likely less chance we'd let him go if he made a mistake, but he also doesn't have any other past with making mistakes due to conduct/off-field activity.  Guys like Rogers, Montori Hughes, etc. I imagine are all being kept to a pretty tight leash, whereas guys like Luck, TY, Wayne, etc. who have no record of misbehaving off field probably have a little longer leash in the minds of our coaches and front office.

I am happy they do it this way -- a whole lot of young people (not just football players) have made mistakes in college or right out of college (not all get caught for it) so I think it's good Pagano and Grigs give some of these talented young guys a 2nd chance.  However, it appears to me as though they do a very good job of letting the players know this is their last shot and if they screw up again they are gone.  Luckily for us, the Colts have a very good mix of young and old players who are upstanding citizens and good role models (see Reggie Wayne -- I am sure he has been instrumental in Rogers' development both as a player and as a citizen/professional or Cory Redding -- I am sure he's helped keep Montori in line or Mathis -- even though he's facing a suspension, he has been a consummate professional and citizen his whole career and I know he holds the younger guys accountable for their behavior and work ethic or D'Qwell Jackson -- see his tweet about Josh Gordon and you  can tell he served as a mentor to Cleveland's troubled young talent when he was there our younger guys like Luck, Allen, Fleener, Castonzo, Art Jones who all are very professional in all interviews and who are involved in the community in positive ways).  We have no cancers in our locker room, and it seems as though the culture that has been created by Pagano/Grigson and our veterans will not allow for any of that to fester.

Who's rap? Those aren't the things he was expected to do regularly. It was just this weekend that Pagano was singing his praise told the story about how he got he high school tape of the kid went on and on about how he tried to get him to North Carolina in college. It looks like everyone else is standing still when he has the ball etc He looks like that again. He loved the kid yesterday. He did something stupid. If it wasn't too stupid he will  get a shot somewhere else.

Agreed not good enough to put up with any nonsense.

Not a big loss at all.

IMO It's not a loss period. I mean at best he was going to be a 3rd RB and possible Special Teamer?

I betcha we would've willingly traded him & cash for a better mess hall staff at Anderson.

I like that our organization doesn't deal with the crap. Follow the team rules or you're gone.

Doesn't the fact that he was on the roster in the first place kind of disprove this theory?  He was proven knucklehead before Indy signed him.

I don't think it makes any sense unless they see somebody better out there or what the conduct reason is on what was said on twitter as the reason they waived him but we will see until I see what the conduct reason is I think its stupid.

He broke the team rules

colts must really like boom and tipton

:sigh:

Has nothing to do with his performance. It's about his behavior

They wouldn't cut him after one week of camp due to performance unless he stunk it up which he didn't cause Chuck was just raving about him a few days ago

If he wasn't a marginal player, he would still be here

The Colts are one of those teams that barely ever releases details until a good amount of time after the fact. They keep most things in house..

As previously stated he was not waived due to performance. He was actually having a great camp. Plus it would make no sense to release him after Chuck was saying how much he liked his play and Ballard went down.

Colts wouldn't release details but all that was said was he "violated team rules." That's all they would say. You could assume a large number of things.

well ive also heard boom has been doing well and tipton has shown flashes and I already believe moncrief and whalen had the return jobs underwraps. perhaps it was a way to save face after all the nice things pagano had to say about him

Yeah they have been doing great! But so has Rainey! He was our starting kick returner all through camp.. They were gonna try him at tailback.

Here's the thing... They already had a roster spot open with Ballard getting hurt. It's not like we had to release anyone. If Rainey was going to get released due to play it would have been after training camp during the roster cuts.

Normally if a guy is playing well in camp they are not just going to release him because other players ( Boom, Tipton, Whalen, Moncrief ) are playing well. We had a roster spot open before he got cut and it was sudden.

Also NFL and Colts stated he broke team rules. We will find out what he did in the future probably..

Not trying to argue.... I'm just sayin

Can't embed the tweet

......... Why so difficult??? :Gaah:

Just click on the time of the tweet (it will either show the time, or how many minutes ago it was tweeted), and that takes you to the actual page of the tweet. Then copy the URL from that page, and simply paste it here in your post. It might take a refresh before you see the actual tweet embedded, but it usually works just fine.

On a more personal note: You seem to be having a bad day. Do you need a hug? Did you run out of apple juice?
