I have an idea... (RB situation)

If Vick is really hurt, hope he's not, but if he is than I believe the Colts should offer Detroit a seventh rounder for Leshoure. I say seventh cuz Detroit clearly doesn't want him and I think he's got a lot of upside if given a REAL opportunity. Mikel is only 24 and I think he's worth the gamble.

Just a thought..

Yeah I would say he is worth a shot but I doubt they would take a 7th rounder for him even though they don't want him.. I would say prolly a 4th. He has some upside..

I think the Colts look in house! We need to keep our picks and look inside the organization.

Chris Rainy, has some good speed could be a different pace back as the 3rd running back!

Zurlon Tipton, he looked great the first day of training camp and reminds me of Ballard but a little more bowling ball like! He was catching some nice passes out of the backfield and looked good out there.

Think Grigson is just going to ride with what he has on the RB position, he's not giving up another draft pick on a RB, might be a player for player trade later in camp. But I think he just rides with TRich, Bradshaw and Herron

I get what your saying but bradshaw is another injury away from being in same position and herron im not sold on at all. Trent is trent, we just don't know. I seriously would give a low round pick for leshoure. kid just needs a chance. can run and catch.. Id roll the dice and go get him

Leshoure is just another back just like Herron. Leshoure is the 4th back on his own team. He is not an upgrade over Herron IMO. I'll just go with Trent, Bradshaw, Herron, Tipton let them battle it out.

I could be wrong but I just doubt Grigson makes another trade for a RB

No need in making a big move now. I think we'll be better off waiting until cut days. I'm sure there will be a few decent rbs available, especially after the final cut down to 53.

If he gets IR'd, we'll add someone. Might as well be a back. But I agree, there's no urgency to go out and sign someone else right now. We have other backs on the roster.

Yeah we'll definitely sign someone. I was referring to the trade ideas. No need for that at this point

don't worry, ballard would not have not got many carries, trent is going to be super and he wont need much rest since he wont have many long runs, just 3 to 10 ypc.

Obviously we need to find a replacement but IF (and that's a huge if) Richardson can give us anything this year and Bradshaw can stay healthy we'll be OK at running back.  Brown was way too expensive for us to keep but without him being our insurance policy at RB we could really be in trouble especially if Bradshaw can't stay healthy.  I expect Richardson to give us more than he did last year but I don't expect him to be able to carry the load and be a star.

@gmbremer: Free agent RBs include Willis McGahee, Ronnie Brown, Felix Jones and Michael Bush. #ColtsCam

None of those names stand out

None of those names stand out.....    to you.

And that's fine.     But they all stand out to me.

Those are four decent running backs for this late in the off-season.....

I'd be interested in bringing all of them in for a look-see and a physical.    And I'd consider signing any of them.

All we're looking for is a decent guy to be our 3rd string running back.    We're not looking for a new #1.

I kinda got my eye on Mark Ingram from the Saints, I don't think its likely he gets cut but if he does I'd bring him in for a look. Or Chris Polk or David Fluellen from the Eagles if/when either get cut and stay healthy

Mark Ingram would be really interesting!! I like him a lot!! If he got cut and we picked him up I would have a good feeling about him...

But I still think we will stay in house

There is no reason to panic there will be a lot of rookie running backs that can run the ball cut as well as veterans just take your pick. Please don't start giving up picks before we get in pads.

Vick wasn't doing much this year anyway AP has the whole world believing you just come back from an ACL injury. Cleveland drafted Terrance West then signed UDFA Isiah Crowell and got Ben Tate as a FA I would  watch for Crowell.

We still have Trent Bradshaw Boom Tipton and Rainey stinks but not a huge hit.

It just shows in a blink a deep WR group could look dangerously thin... same with any position group.  All teams suffer through it.  I was a Brown fan and always rooted for them to get him on the field more often as a few carries here and there didn't give him enough shots to break it open... but he's gone and was too expensive to keep.  But, to all those who are totally unconcerned because we have TR... keep in mind that if we bring anyone in, won't they be incapable of success because they didn't get a full Colt training camp?  I mean, if you buy the TR apologizers, then no one else could possibly come in and be workable after the final cut to 53 right? ... yeah.. whatever.

It took Brown 5 years to get the system down and your gonna throw TR under the bus so easily?

we don't know that. Trent hasn't showed anything to prove he can do that. All we can do is hope.

No, you missed my point.  Many of the TR apologists suggest he couldn't do well simply because he missed training camp and a full offseason with the Colts.  So.. if you agree with that viewpoint, then how could any other player, especially one without early first round pedigrees, be expected to be able to contribute in any meaningful way if they've already missed all the pre-training camp and now some or all of the preseason?  It shouldn't be one way for Trent but not for others.   I hope as much as anyone that Trent does very well.  What other choice do we have if we hope to make and do well in the playoffs? I think Bradshaw is a proven talent, but he's fragile and should he have any problems, we're left with TR and whoever they put in the #3 slot.  On the otherhand, if Bradshaw stays healthy all season, then I am not worried regardless of how Trent does because Bradshaw is a great power runner and perfect for our system.  So I am not throwing TR under any bus, I AM throwing the argument of it being all about offseason and TC which caused Trent to fail last year.  Let's hope he can get in gear and live up to his 1st round status and everyone will be happy.  I wouldn't be surprised if he gets it together nor would I be surprised if he didn't.  But we really shouldn't have such meager expectations at the cost of a 1st round pick.   Would you truly be shocked if he was average or below this year? Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

Nope, Brown has had to learn 4 different systems the last 4 years), Tom Moore-2009 system then Clyde Christianson(Moore was still offensive assistant then in 2010)-2010 and 2011, then Arians-2012...Finally Peps-2013, Brown also had a decent 2011 season on limited carries (8.3 per game). Im not really sure why its so hard for some to accept he was a decent Back in limited touches when healthy, My only complaint about him was early on he had this darting type running style

Not so much. He Stank at reading blocks for 4 years. The End.

I think he taught Mark Sanchez how to run between the tackles. Must have left out the part about holding onto the ball. A light came on last season and i hope it was permanent.
