Even though I want to see Mewhort play with the 1st team, it's nice to see Donald Thomas back. I really want to see the O-Line battle at Guard and Center. Lets root for no injuries!

I agree, especially the way the team has been hyping Thomas this offseason. They've mentioned that hes way stronger both in his lower body and his upper body. I'm interested to see if he becomes a mauler up front for us. Maybe Mewhort surpasses Thorton?

I'm thinking that as well. Actually think that Mewhort could beat out Thorton right now. He'll get every opportunity for sure. We need as much help as possible at the O-Line and I just want someone to dominate at training camp today, show us that Luck is in good hands, whether it be Thorton or Mewhort.

Agreed. After watching some tape of last season, Thorton had a few games where he really impressed me. Im not sure if he did anything to change his body the way that Thomas and Khaled have, but if he gets better this offseason, (especially after being moved to his more natural position of Right Guard) then I would be ok with him starting. Just need to see improvement.

I'll be there today checking things out! Glad it's going to be a nice day.

Awesome! I'm going to the night practice next Thursday.

Could you report back with your thoughts on the receivers. How much did Reggie play? Is TY starting over Nicks? How much did luck throw to his Tight ends?

Thanks man.

Sounds great bravo! I don't live in Indy, so I'm kinda dependent on the internet and what I see on NFL network. I had to choose whether to go to a game or two, or go to training camp. I made a choice to go to games, so now I have to watch training camp on tv. Hope you can give us some type of update if anything exciting happens. Have fun!

Absolutely, also worried about Trent Richardson. I was hoping if you could tell us if he is making significant improvements, reading the playbook well, finding holes in the defense. Just some stuff I want to see that will affect the offense.

Probably will be hard to tell anything until pads go on.  And I don't think they can do that until Sunday per NFL rules.

Too early to matter, but I wonder why Mewhort wasn't backup RG if they expect those two to battle?

Well maybe since Mewhort is an NFL baby at these positions and he is BEHIND Veterans, they will work him some at his Best position some to bring him along. Then maybe after they think he is coming along some at his Best position they will work him at the next position they like him at, after they see him against NFL Caliber players. You do know Jack has heavy feet? In his year one he May Not be as strong nor athletic as Link (Paganos 5 position player)  was in his year 5.

I dont see Mewhort beating out Thomas if he is healthy. Thomas has too much experience and familiarity with the playbook/blocking scheme.

Makes sense. Just wondering because, with a healthy Donald Thomas, Thornton/RG would seem to be the most vulnerable position in the starting lineup.

    • I can too. And that will tell us everything we need to know about how the view him. It will tell us their feelings on the tight end room, and what direction they pick from there will tell us even more.    but if they take him at 15, we won’t know much about what might have happened, as they will be landing someone they had rated highly and fell to them.
    • Glad that’s over…    if I wanted to argue about it, I would have responded far more in depth than pointing out how you were attempting to gaslight me. I did not. Meaning I was ending my part of whatever the argument was. You “putting a finality to it” and then listing bullet points tells me it was the argument you wanted all along, which makes sense why you brought Grigson up in the first place. Bait, hook, gaslight. Almost got me buddy. You are a funny guy, Doug
    • Putting a finality on an argument you want to have.   There is a theory that Ballard won't draft a OL high because ARs injuries were not caused by a poor oline.  I felt it important to note that since Luck's major injuries were also not caused by his oline, Ballard could still want to improve it like he did in 2018 simply because AR is The Franchise. And its important to point that out because there has been a running (false) narrative for about 9 years that Luck's oline was the (main) reason for his injuries that kept him out of games.  The (false) narrative is based upon, IMO, a detest of Grigson, and not reality about the facts (or strong rumors) behind the kidney laceration and snowboarding shoulder. Therefore, mentioning Grigson and the (false) narrative was germain to the point about Ballard possibly drafting Oline high this draft to protect AR. Mentioning Grigson shouldn't trigger a CB vs RG discussion, unless people reading it are gaslighted by their own reading lens.
    • That is a very inaccurate description of what happened.  At this point it’s history and doesn’t need to be revisited but I will say Chloe adds value to this board and should be and is by most encouraged to post, even if people don’t always agree with her.
    • My response was in regards to another posted suggesting that the Colts need to get the pick right when it comes to picking a WR. I agree with you .
