Sick of the dam Broncos. Everybody talks about them going 13-3, but they'll be lucky to finish 10-6 with that schedule. Our physical CB's will disrupt their timing again and we'll be victorious week 1. No Robert Mathis? SO **&^%$@ what. We're still better than them.

Depends on what you consider better, Statistically on both sides of the ball overall we were not better, The Broncos went further in the playoffs then we did, Finished with a better record then what we did and as hard as it was to beat the Broncos last year the Colts play in Denver this year with no Mathis, On top of all that at the end of the day its all about the SB, Everything else is second place and who beats who during the regular season is ultimately meaningless in that case

Mathis is only one guy out of a much better defensive team than we had a year ago. The thing is the Broncos should be as a well... so I think it will be a big game. Both teams have a lot of offensive weapons.

Not seeing the hype behind Denver anymore. Got flat out embarrassed on national/worldwide television in the SB which sent Elway into a spending frenzy for FA. Now they have all these "big name" guys (most are washed up) and expect to win a super bowl this time around which isn't gonna happen

But whatever, let Denver fans & Elway dream I suppose

It has yet to be seen whether our defense is better, Mathis also made up for for 19.5 sacks of our 42. On paper are we better? Sure but that don't mean anything

Who are these washed up big name guys?

The key to beating denver in the first game comes down to if Laron Landry has improved and if Delano Howell is a good player.

....... Or we just have the entire secondary shut them down like we did last time. No reason to single out players when it's a teak effort

Android spell check/prediction.

Was supposed to read "Washed up guy" and that's D. Ware

Then the injury prone and average in my eyes CB Talib

Ware was dealing with a quad injury all season and is only 31, Its not usual for a pass rusher to play well until his mid or even late 30's, Talib is above average to me, is he what I would consider a shutdown corner? No, but he is pretty good, Someone that your taking a real risk throwing at though he can be beat

All of you think the broncos suck now lol.

Here's the thing. They are better than us. If we win it would be an upset. One loss to Seattle doesn't make them bad. Oh, and Talib is not average.

I swear, this forum sometimes.

I don't think the Broncos suck. I just believe we're better than them. I swear people ride Peyton as if he's still our quarterback LOL.

Weird topic. If we beat Denver...........then we just beat Denver.  If beating Denver Week 1 is a big deal to you, than obviously you think Denver is a better team than us. I don't see any "beat Jacksonville" threads. To the people saying "we are better than Denver".......huh? Are you saying as s prediction, speaking on last year or just showing support for the team? Either way, last year, we drafted before Denver so that says it all about that, and this year hasn't started yet so its hard to say who's a "better" team.

Side note - regardless of who is better, R Mathis will not be playing. Advantage = DEN. To say we dont need R Mathis is asinine. With or without R Mathis we were going to be underdogs. We have a team with question marks at every position except QB. I expect us to compete with every team we play and have an opportunity to win in the 4th quarter. Yes, we beat some good teams last year, but were embarrassed by a few also.

Everybody dreams and they were 15-4 last year....TK...and I dont know if DeMarcus Ware is washed up.

I guess we'll find out opening day.

No, the key was the Colts pass rush....forcing 2 turnovers...

...and that's the concern this time..because they have their starting LT Clady back and the Colts wont have Robert.

Opening the NFL season in Denver has not proven to be much fun the last 2 seasons

Being a fan of another team in Colorado and beating the Broncos is to die for, last year's victory was like a wet dream. Not sure if people realize the a--holes that their fans are, they're a bunch of arrogant * who run their mouths non-stop. I checked out their forum and people are doing week 1 score predictions, not a single person is picking Indy to win. So yeah, if we beat them, AGAIN, I would be very pleased.

But to answer the question....If WE BEAT DENVER.....

....the Colts win the AFC championship!!!

I don't think a win in week one gets you an invitation to the superbowl. We beat both superbowl teams last year in the regular season

The same can be said about Denver. They spent a lot of cash on trying to upgrade that defense that wasn't that great last year, but in the end you don't know until the two teams take the field. As far as sacks go Mathis stepped up when we needed someone to do so. I think we should be more well rounded this year, and come from everywhere.

the reason we won the denver game last year was because our secondary destroyed them. If we can do that again then we will win again. In order for that to happen we need really good safety play. But your right, without a pass rush, it doesn't matter if you have the legion of boom, your not stopping anybody.

And yet Denver almost took the lead not for Ronnie Hillman fumble :)

I have a very bad feeling that the Colts are going to lose badly.  Denver is going to come out with everything to prove after being demolished in the Super Bowl and the Colts are not going to have Mathis or Bethea who were instrumental last season in the game.  I hope that I am wrong but I just can't help but think that Indianapolis is going to lose and they are going to lose big. As Gandalf said though it really can't be decided until the two teams take the field.  I just have a bad feeling about this one.
