Terrible draw to play P$ w/ no Mathis. Anybody else scared about this game? We all know key to beating P$ is pressure & more pressure & w/o it's over! Still think we can win but tough opener.

Yeah I know I'm only worried wk 1 against elite opponent after that doesn't matter we are superior!

It's going to be a tough game regardless because P money is really tough in the regular

season, couple that with being a home game for him and the opener will be extra tough

to go there and beat him.

 

It depends if our O line has improved enough to control the clock a little and the D has

stiffened up a bit from last season to slow him down a bit. With that being said we still

need a couple takeaways on defense to pull this one off.

Beating the Broncos in Denver without Robert Mathis,  while perhaps not impossible,  is not very likely.

Offense and ball control is how the Colts will have a chance vs Peyton and the Broncos, IMO. The positive about it being game 1 is that all our offensive weapons will be healthy, and we need to convert 3rd downs to keep Peyton off the field and sustain drives. That is our best chance.

 

As the game goes on, the thin air will become a factor, so playing with a lead is important which would mean we can make their O one-dimensional.

I remember from the replays of the 2006 AFCG, one of the Colts DB's who was watching from the sidelines used the term "money" to refer to Manning.  May have been a take-off from the MC/rapper known as "P-Money."

I don't know, a few things don't change often. Patriots beating Colts, Colts beating Broncos, and Broncos beating Patriots.

 

23-20 with Vanderjagt kicking a game winning FG in 2003 in the snow vs Broncos, 34-31 in our SB winning year in 2006 with AV kicking a game winning FG while the Broncos RBs ran all over on us and Wayne owning the 2nd DB (R.I.P Darrent Williams) while Champ shut down Marvin, and recently thanks to Kyle Orton at the helm, beating them in 2009 (with DC playing a big role) & 2010 (with Collie's coming out party), and as late as 2013, beating Peyton here at LOS. 5 straight wins vs the Broncos.

 

Yes, we have done well vs the Broncos lately, and I agree, a big reason has been the offense. Like I said, our offense has to carry us.
