Largest Front 3s (3-4 teams)

Are we actually the largest front 3 now for all 3-4 teams?

Jones 337

Chapman 341

Redding 318

That makes it an average of 332 lbs per man. Assuming Jones loses 15 or so pounds after off-season, that still makes it 327 pounds per man on average.

maybe with this size, we can do more than just contain a man and push the pocket back into the qb, almost as good as a sack

Pushing the pocket back is a good thing for Mathis screaming around the outside. He will have

a monster year if they can do that.

Mathis had a monster year last year.  The DL must have been doing something right. ;)

Hey anything above 300 sounds good for a D lineman! If some of them want to get in better playing shape that is fine with me! I'm still happy about what the Colts have done with the D line! Let's stay healthy and give our linebackers some easy plays!!

For whatever it's worth,  Jones -- now listed at 337 -- says he plans to play much lighter than that.

Says he'll use camp to get into better shape and play at sub-320.

Not sure I buy it...   but that's what was reported by the team.

IMO his regular weight has always been 330+ ish...NFL nor ESPN measures the players...only teams do, and oftentimes it is self-reported or outdated from college weights.

Here's him next to 340 lbs of Haloti Ngata...he doesn't look a gram under 340 in this picture.

Again looking very 330-340-ish.

It sure is a far cry from the 260 pound dt's from the Dungy era

But but but, speed kills...well unless you're a 260-270 lb td playing for the colts who just gets swallowed up. That's why we always needed to have a lead so they can just rush the passer. So glad that era is over also!!

Ahhhh... The old "bend but don't break" defense.

Brings back memories
