Gronk targets opener for his return

The league is a better place with Gronk in it. I just admire the guys work ethic, his humor, & what a lethal threat he is on any football field. Gronk dude I love you like a brother man just do me a favor & restrain yourself from crazy antics on a dance floor okay. I want NE at full strength when INDY goes toe to toe with the Patriots for the AFC Championship Game this year.

I respect your contributions on the forum too AMF. I crave colliding with our beloved Foxboro foe because these games are always destined to become NFL classics.   I always want the Colts to win, but if you get the upper hand on us in round 1, SW1 will tip my cap to ya because we will see you again & the outcome won't be the same. I have no hatred for your franchise just mutual respect for your team's intellectual prowess, longevity of winning, & the fact that all our games come down to the 2 minute warning which spells victory or defeat.

Okay, maybe not all our games against your club were tight 2 minute nail biters. No need to throw facts or percentages at me BTW. My only point was this: It just feels like whenever INDY plays NE that it comes down to who has the ball in the final seconds. That's why I love this rivalry so much.

Well said SW. I love the rivalry too. I am glad unlike last year, we get to play in the regular season which should have implications on the post-season.

I have my lucky rabbit's foot for Gronk. Although it seems like he is always injured, the article points out that he played all 16 games his first two seasons in the league so here's hoping he makes it three seasons and the post-season. ;)

He's a rare bread does it all can block run routes has good hands trucks DB's and gives 100 percent on the field every down . Just gotta love what he brings to his team hopefully he can stay healthy .

What kind of bread would that be? Italian style or sesame? :)

And he'll be injured by week 4....... Nothing to see here

:sleepy:

That was more generous than I was going to give. lol

Seriously, I don't wish injury on anyone, but let's be honest:

Gronk rivals (if not surpasses) Bob Sanders in the injury dept.

Well since you guys can't seem to beat New England WITHOUT Gronk, I would think this news would be of more interest to you.  ;)

(Calm down, just playin'...)  :number1:

Predicting injuries is a sure bet since every active NFL player gets injured an average of two times a season.

Yeah FE, but shouldn't Gronk's injuries be separated into dance disasters & normal, wear & tear field injuries?  haha I only kid, because I really like the guy.

In all seriousness, Gronk is due for a monster season & with Gronk & Edelman on the field at the same time Brady is like an unstoppable TD terminator man.  :flyingelvis:

Kobe Beef maybe Italian sausage is to generic   :applause:

Fellas, all this talk of italian bread & beef is making me hungry. No sesame seeds BTW because I always end up using a tooth pick in my mouth like a archeological dig after I'm done eating then. LOL!

Yes I know, the truth hurts. Well played GP. Well played! There's always a grain of truth in the best humor. With or with Gronk, NE is still capable of winning & yes beating INDY. I don't run from the truth. Until INDY can neutralize the Patriots in Foxboro in December, keep making that argument because it's an accurate claim.

Hopefully, this year will be different. That's the difference between SW1 & most NFL team homers: I don't deny reality or look for scapegoats. All improvements begin & end in your own backyard.

The lynch pin in NE favor this year is this: Revis Island & the return of run stuffer Vince Wilwork. The dude is a B-E-A-S-T.  :worthy:

It does feel that way Lollygager. Even diehard NE fans have to be thinking about committing an animal sacrifice just to keep Gronk healthy at this point. No, I am not condoning cruelty toward any animals by the way.

My only point was this: At this point, Patriots fans would do almost anything to guarantee Gronk's health for about 20 weeks once the season starts.

Brady's confidence & comfort level just changes when Gronk is on the field. He's a darn nice security blanket. Big hands, thick body, very limber, & the dude finds the endzone like a bloodhound. As a rival, I really respect that. I can't lie.

haha  Hang in the AMF. Maybe you need to send Gronk one & tell him to carry it on him at all times. Just Kidding! I wish Gronk longterm protection from injury too.

On a personal level, I would love to see Gronk work with HOF TE Shannon Sharpe because there is so much he could teach him since Gronk is Shannon Sharpe 2.0 IMHO.

Unreal what they can do with ACLs these days. Glad to see this news and I hope he stays healthy for 2014!

Yeah. Amazing how his forearm took so long and yet the knee is put back together in just a few months. It is fantastic. I really hope he can stay healthy. I know it is his goal to play all 16 + post-season.

With Gronk in the lineup I predict an MVP season for Tom this year. Gronk just opens up the offense so much for NE. He takes them from division favorites to AFC favorites imo if he and the rest of the offense can stay healthy. Bill has a great defense coming back....really improved. I'm looking forward to playing them this year....but only because of the quality they have...not because I think they have a weakness. That is a very sound football team over there. They just don't make mistakes...if they lose its usually by a play here or there....they don't beat themselves. You have to go in and take it. Not like Denver or us who have ways of not protecting the football or giving up big plays. Gronk imo is still the best TE in football when healthy...and it isn't even close. Jimmy Graham we saw can be shut down...Gronk is virtually uncoverable.

No infections this time. I think three of the four (or two of the three) surgeries he had last offseason were related to that nasty infection. It's hard to remember this but Gronk played in every game his first two seasons in the league... let's hope he returns to find better luck on the injury front!
