Where Will the Colts be Ranked in the PFT Preseason Power Poll?

If anyone knows me, they know I have no use for "Power Polls" or rankings.  This isn't college football, it doesn't matter where you're ranked.

BUT... since it's dead time...

ProFootballTalk has been doing a daily write up on teams, ranking them from 32 to 1.  Today they have San Diego at 16.

So, the question is - where do you think the Colts start out AND where do you think we SHOULD start at?

(Apologies to the Question of the Day poll)

I think they will be rated eighth or ninth behind Seattle, Denver, San Francisco, New England, Green Bay, New Orleans, Chicago......

Power rankings are the equivalent of journalists listing their favorite bands for a quick article.

You guys are worrying about stupid stuff. Preseason don't even matter, and power rankings for preseason? Are you for real? Come on....

What.....    you think Saints fans don't care about such trivial matters?

Be serious.    It's the nature of being fan.    Or haven't you noticed?

4 at highest -- behind San Fran, Seattle, Denver (I personally think we should be better than Denver, but no way will anyone put Manning below Indy to start the season)

6 at lowest -- with New England and New Orleans having a chance of sneaking in there (I think we are better than either team, but the media tends to love Brady and Brees)

We beat the top 3 teams pretty handily last year -- unfortunately injuries crept up and hurt us pretty bad. An improved o-line, the return of some of our injured players, another year for Luck, an improved d-line and LB corps should have us a much better team than last year.  Pagano and Grigs always said we were going to be a team that could run and could stop the run -- the additions of Art Jones and D'Qwell Jackson should immediately improve our ability to stop the run -- the loss of Satele, another year for Thornton, a healthy D. Thomas, Jack Mewhort, a healthy Bradshaw and a more confident T. Rich coupled with the weapons Luck has to throw to (teams have to respect our pass game with Reggie, Nicks, TY, Allen, Fleener on the field) should also immediately improve our run game. I also think another year under Pep's belt will bring major improvements as I think he is starting to figure out how to mask plays better and make better play calls.  Fingers-crossed to good health this year, if we can avoid losing any major starters (or at least less than 5) for extended periods, this will be the most improved team in the league.

You know what's more pathetic? Griping about preseason polls on a teams board that your not even a fan of.

Sometimes you just have to laugh at that level of poor comprehension and response.

BTW, Philly came in at 13 today.

1. Patriots

2. Colts

3. Broncos

4. 49ers

5. Seahawks

The last 8 super bowl winners are 0-4 in the playoffs the following season. The Seahawks should buck that trend but it's not a given.

I bet they don't. If they don't win the division and open on the road could spell trouble. Say in GB or NO maybe ATL. The 49ers are good the Cardinals are improving and Fisher is a great coach the Rams will not be a push over as we saw last year. Wilson is still a young player winning on the road in the playoffs isn't easy.

I wouldn't put SD ahead of us after that beat down on MNF.

You wouldn't that is smart because they aren't better than us DHB dropped a sure long TD in the second quarter and that game was sandwiched between the Seahwaks and Bronco's both games we won. Trap game?

19-9 is a beat down? What about the 27-17 beat down the Raiders laid on SD how does that fit in?

Everyone please read the comments below the article. Entertaining. Especially the Ravens and chargers fans. The intentional tanking conspiracy is still alive. Bitter much ravens?

Funny stuff. I don't think I could care less about the tanking conspiracy.

Some people never grow out of the "My daddy can beat up your daddy!" phase.

My prediction for power rankings toward the end of the season (That's what really matters).  If somehow Denver chokes again, I think Colts have a great shot at making it to the SB.  Call me crazy, but the AFC isn't that strong (well last year anyway).  I think we will all see Indy taking control of the rivalry with NE this yr.  Other than that I don't see Cin, Bal, SD, or KC, making significant improvements from last season like the Colts' potential.  Although their could be a surprise team in the NFC ahead of us in the power rankings.  We have way too easy of a schedule and too talented to not win 12 games and have a 1st round bye in a weak division and conference.

That is hilarious although I think the Chargers have a gripe they are better than 16 in my opinion haven't seen the list so not sure who they have in front of them nor do I care these things are silly thanks for pointing out the comments made it worthwhile.

Painter actually holds the single season passing yards record at Purdue he passed a guy named Drew Bress by 2 yards. We drafted in the 6th round see nothing wrong with giving him a go. Funniest thing of all is in 2012 he signed with the Baltimore Ravens.
