Can he win a 2nd SB & take a similar beating from Seattle or the Niners that's the question? You honestly think Manning can take another physical beat down like that again? I don't.

I honestly think if he faces that swarming defense again it's deja vu all over again. You can disagree with me & so can Gramz. That is your right. But physical & mental beat downs that neutral you are never erased in a violent sport like football.

Will the Broncos make the Playoffs? Yes. Will they make a deep run? Yes. Will they cross the finish line? I don't really see the 4th trip being possible let alone a magic carpet ride myself. Could I be wrong? Sure.

As far as narratives go, I honestly think physical brutality is never forgotten & once a team dominates you in the SB your mind will have a difficult time jumping that hurdle. Hitting the reset button is easier if your last game was a competitive one, but when it was so lopsided in the other direction, starting over fresh is easier said than down when crunch time arrives.

I agree with this except I don't see the Broncos getting back to the Super Bowl. I think that type of loss when you had such a historic season is crushing. It leaves you wondering what else do we we have to do to win? That being said, the Broncos addressed their defense but their defense really wasn't the issue in the post-season as it shut out the Chargers for three quarters and held the Pats to 3 points for three quarters. And despite the lopsided SB score, the defense only let up 13 points in the first half and then watched the STs give up the nail in the coffin TD to start the second half to go along with two more turnovers by the offense.

A team like Denver the way it is constructed on offense will never fair well against the likes of Seattle or the Niners. And at this point, I think the Pats with Revis now can play similar on defense but they will probably need another pass rusher as well to keep the heat on Manning. I also think the Colts showed for three quarters that they could handle that O will consistent pressure on Manning. And then there is KC and the Chargers.

I still expect Manning to put up good numbers especially when he faces teams that are sub par defensively but they will be stopped once they run into a defense that can cover well and put consistent pressure on Manning.

I think Denver's biggest AFC competition this year may end up being the Colts....NOT the Pats. Especially if our offense stays healthy this year. I DO like the moves Denver has made on defense, on offense it's just the odds to me they will go down some.

Back in like 2006 we used to joke on some old forums that the Colts owned the Broncos, the Broncos owned the Pats and the Pats owned the Colts. It usually takes A LOT for us to get by NE.....and we often have to do it at home. Like most teams we tend to struggle in NE. NE struggles in Denver, sure they won when Tebow was there but then again who freaking cares.

NE with Brady has struggled in Denver. But, we will see this year how the Colts do in Denver. And how NE does in our house again. Home field could be huge this coming year yet again.

Denver is one team like KC we have seemed to have the number of for several years no matter who is there while we struggle with SD.

It's been strange that in two years of Manning in Denver we have yet to face off in the playoffs but I think that could change this season. I mean did you think this might all end without the biggest drama of all and that being a playoff show down? I guess we'll see. It would be in the divisional or AFCCG.

I think the AFC this year will come down to Denver, NE, Colts and possibly the Ravens who have also made some nice moves. Home field will be key like it was last year. Denver has the toughest path to the #1 seed IMO because they have to play the NFC West and that could be 2 or more losses right there. I think a NE/Colts AFCCG is quite possible which will make the game where the Pats play Indy in Indy a critical game. Denver also has to come to Foxboro again most likely in late Nov. so that game will be critical as well but Manning has his woes in Foxboro just like Brady does in Denver.

I really wish the season was beginning.
