The thing that gets me. Who is the person reporting that we are calling about trading up getting their information. We know it isn't from the Colts front office -
Agree with a lot of this... Sometimes I even wish he would be less physical and make a few more business decisions, like TY used to make. Because Worthy would regularly try to run over people or gain extra yards with the knowledge he will suffer a hard hit and he still does it. There are some very ugly reps where he gets thrown around by defenders like a ragdoll, because he didn't slide down or go out of bounds and I can't help but think... he should probably have spared himself that one. -

this is how I feel. Devin Witherspoon last year felt like a sure thing top ten pick, and he had a great rookie year. I don’t feel that way about anyone this draft. Mitchell would be the one of anyone, in my opinion. And maybe that’s who we are reportedly calling around about trading up for. But it doesn’t feel the same as with the guys you mentioned and Witherspoon. -

It makes sense to trade down for the same reasons. Two positions on OL, and two positions on DL might leave next year and even if not, will be open in couple of years and some of the re-signings will be gone in 3 years if not sooner. That assumes all the re-signing will be success but not all of them might perform at high level, especially at CB and S. If the strategy is to draft and re-sign, then you will need to continuously draft a lot of players in all positions because not much is coming from free agency. You've got to make lot of draft picks, and not all of the drafted players are gonna work out. That's the very reason for multiplying the draft picks and plunging on much larger pool of talents in second and third rounds of the Draft. Holder's logic only works out if all of re-signing and drafting are going to be success, and the "proven" players aren't close to elite except for some on DL and OL, RB and WR, and NCB.
