Chris Gamble CB-Worth a look?

Recommended Posts

I'll confess ignorance, and a laziness preventing me from researching for myself... Why only 4 games this year? And what convinces you he'll play for less than the $7.9M he made in 2012? If he might, why would he choose the Colts? And what are you suggesting Grigson ought to see in him to make him a value?

Gamble is probably the Most Unharalded Under appreciated Corner in the league.

He ran a very slow 40 as at his draft...like a sub 4.7 but has been a shut down corner since his sophmore season.

And When I say Shut Down, I mean like Darell Revies Shutdown.

But at that age, he is only gonna get slower, so I'd rather get a Daunta Robinson who is more well know but not as good as Gamble, because he can keep up with the fastest reciever in the league.

eh. id say sean smith or keenan lewis. both have good upside but how much would they want is ultimately what it comes down to. both are younger than gamble though

I don't know about Lewis, but Smith is wanting 8-10 million per season. Smith has great size for a CB, but he isn't worth what he is asking for and I don't know how he even thinks he has a leg to stand on by asking for that much. In 2011 Smith was rated 105th out of 109 CB's and in 2012 was rated 76th out of all CB's. He's young and big, but somebody would be taking a huge risk signing him for anything over 6 mil. per season and personally, I hope it's not the Colts. Here's a piece I posted here while back.

But here's the problem: Smith ranked as the 76th-best cornerback in the league this year, according to Pro Football Focus (he was even worse in 2011, ranking 105th out of 109 cornerbacks). Salguero points out that Smith performed admirably on Arizona's Larry Fitzgerald and Cincinnati's A.J. Green early in the season, but after that, Smith had nothing.

Worth a look but he is not at the top of my Corner list as far as FA's go

who is? honestly i see a lot of big names who are not that good IMO...not a fan of DRC, Mike jenkins,...im okw ith cary williams but i think people mention him a lot because a) The Pagano connection b) he is big c) they know the name...none of that has anything to do with the quality of play ...im not saying he is bad but i dont think he is that good either.

sean smith? no way! the amount of money he wants is insane... i kinda like Keenan lewis a lot but there is still uncertainty with him since he has only played as the starter this last season..i think 2 seasons ago he also played a lot but i think as nickel? could be wrong

Any team stupid enough to give Smith 8-10 million per year, is a team Grigson needs to have on "trade speed dial"

Brent Grimes, Tracey Porter(if he could play a whole season), Sam Shields (if he could play a whole season) as far as FA's go, as far as draft picks go

1.Xavier Rhodes

2.Dee Milliner

3.Johnthan Banks

4.David Amerson

5.Tharold Simon

6.Sanders Commings(but he best have his off field issues behind him)

all in various rounds

In that order

Rhodes is wayyy below milliner. Milliner is by far the best corner in the draft. Truant should be on the list.

if Davis stays on the left side like he did most of latst season... Andre Johnson is gonna murder Grimes, way too phisical for him same with Britt... I like Porter but that heart disease is disencouraging and constant injuries same with shields... i think our best FA option is kenan lewis and Shields suppossing he stays healthy which like you said is not a given
