BA could be back

BA said he was looking for "the perfect fit".  Makes me wonder if his "list of demands" for the potential teams was what prevented him from being hired rather than the fact that teams thinking the other guy was a better coach.  He probably was not willing to negotiate much on his "must haves" since he seemed like he would be perfectly happy returning to the Colts.

On the flipside if we end up with Wallace in FA I will wonder if obtaining him was not part of a deal offered to BA by the Colts as an incentive to stay on as OC.

Why would getting Wallace be that big of a deal to Arians? Not to mention we already have 3 receivers very similar to him-- tiny and very quick-- and one of them (Hilton) is already better than Wallace IMO. This is assuming we resign Avery, which isn't a given. However, if we let Avery walk and look to add a different WR, I would hope that it would be big target. One that can help Luck with jump balls and become a red zone threat. Luck doesn't have that right now and I think it would help him a lot more than adding another tiny speedster. He has enough of those. I suppose neither one of us knows the mind of BA, but I just can't imagine he is clamoring for Wallace given that we already have three guys just like him.

On BA, I am glad it looks like he is staying barring any hire by the Cardinals or Jags out of left field. I think the offense will look much crisper next season, and I think with an improved OL and more coaching up to not hold onto the ball too long/look for the shorter route that Luck can really take off next year in this offense. Not to mention that all of this year's other rookies not named Luck should know the playbook in and out if they did not already.

I don't see Arians going to Arizona or Jacksonville. Neither team has much of an immediate future and neither has even a decent QB. I think that would be a prerequisite with Arians. He likes to work with promising young QB's and neither team has one, nor do I see very good young QB's in this yrs. draft. IMO, I think Arians stays here rather than go to either of those 2 bad teams.

Arizona isn't that bad. They have a decent defense and have very talented wide receivers. They have a high draft pick which they can either build the O-line and trade for a QB (Flynn/Smith) or go QB (Smith or Glennon whom both have strong arms) with that first pick and add OL through the draft and FA.

The Cards aren't that far off and its not a HC job I think he's desperate for. I think it would be a good job for him if they can add those few pieces I think they are good.

If I were Arians, I would be upset not getting the HC in San Diego or any other HC job elsewhere.  He would likely stay with Indy and show other teams that they missed out on a good thing.  I hope Irsay pays him $$$ if he does stay with Indy.

Me too. He did an excellent job. Obviously, he's good enough to be an HC. I would be happy for him to stay, but also feel badly for him not getting an HC position.

If the Colts can Arians, that would be a huge positive going into next season. Luck doesn't have to change OCs, which is great for a young QB, and he can grow in this system.

With Arians, it's like having two head coaches on your team calling play for their respective teams. I think the last thing the FO wants to do is to look around and hunt for an OC. I hope he doesn't go to Zona.
