So am I correct here? RE: draft order

33 posts in this topic

Do we officially now have the 23rd pick?  I was kinda hoping Washington would win because I believe we would have picked ahead of Seattle due to Strength of Schedule, but we only dropped one place so still not the end of the world that Seattle won.  Still though, just trying to confirm that we do indeed have the 24th pick, which I believe is correct.  Can anyone confirm?

I believe we're 24.

I was going top post this earlier, but didn't have enough time to do so. I believe we have the 24th, but I could be wrong. If anyone knows for sure it would probably be FJC lol.

I know this should go in the draft section, but what position are we going for if you had to guess. Or what player?

It's way too early to tell.

That would be sweet. He'll be having dinner with his new teams owner by time we pick though. I'd say top 5?

Barrett Jones-Bama- Can play all 5 OL positions and excels at them all. Curretnly projection in mid to high 20's hopefully doesnt rise to much after combines.

Rhodes. Don't get me wrong I would love an oline but look what Seattle's secondary did. All them dudes with the exception of Thomas are big

The only ol we should keep is Castonzo, Shipley, Reitz, and Linckenbach.

Yeah, as much as we rag on Link, he is a decent utility guy and decent G. Reitz can't seem to stay healthy.

on the website im looking at now ( i can only find 3 different sites that have a mock draft right now, they have us picking 24th and getting OT Oday Aboushi out of Virginia. he is 6'6 310 lbs. going to the senior bowl also.

honestly i dont see him falling to us. i can see green bay trading up to get him with the unexpected retiring (after the season) of jeff saturday. Saturday has said he does not have it in him anymore, plus lower back pains that isnt helping the cause. but i wouldnt mind jones because like you said he can play anywhere. but would def. need him on the interior offensive line.

Don't really think we would have too much luck building our secondary through FA like we could for the O-line.  Would have to think we would go CB or Safety in round 1 (or round 2 if we can trade down like I hope).   But dont get me wrong if Warmack is there we take him.

If your looking for mock sites check out hailredskins.com.  They always have a good selection of pro's and fan drafts.

I agree, I think we should go secondary late in the 1st, but if Warmack is there we should grab him before we even go on the clock. Kid is a beast

Not sure who'd be available, but a pick at o-line or CB is highly needed. Vaughn is so bad, it's laughable. He looked so lost yesterday.

Green Bay could jump up depends how happy they are with Evan Dietrich Smith who replaced Saturday. I bet Chapman and Jones have squared off quite a few times in practice in the past maybe they will in the future as well.  I wouldnt mind a top CB either as it needs to be addressed either in draft or free agency just think protecting the Franchise needs to be a slightly higher priority right now another season like this one and it could start to shorten his career.

I see GB taking Barrett Jones or Johnathan Cooper (I dont see Cooper being a fit in our Blocking scheme at this point), I see Cowboys taking Warmack

We need a tall receiver that can win jump balls just like Boldin did to us yesterday.

He's going to go to the combine and people will see his short arms and his 'non athletic' build.  A lot of teams will forget his tape and how great a player he was all that time.  So it's possible he may fall in the draft.

I hope we're smarter than that (I don't just mean about Jones, I mean in general).

11 wins and 5 losses puts the Colts 24th  in line. It's like building a brnad new home from scratch only to have a tornado headed straight toward it. It hopefully will miss and hit all other cities in the AFC

Remember Griegson is going to draft by his board and the best available. So as much as we would like the first pick to be one that addresses a big need it may not roll that way. If there is someone else there thats better and its not at a position we really need but is higher on his board were probably gonna take them. I really hope we take Xavier Rhodes right now or a good DE. Address O line in Free Agency to me.

Boldin is only 6 1". He didn't really jump he just flat out owned Vaughn. I would like a receiver taller than 6 ft although... Not Adams though...

My preference for the first round pick is either the best pass rusher, CB or OL on the board.  What we do in free agency will affect my order of preference but I would like to see our first pick be one of these 3 positions, or a trade down.  I read a mock yesterday (can't remember what site..think it was on bleacherreport) that had us taking Barkevious Mingo in the first round.  Couple others have us taking Xavier Rhodes.  I'd be excited about either of these picks. :)

    • three things you should never do:   1. Try to be funny   2. Talk about football   3. Reproduce
    • I am not really sure why he hates Peyton so much. I have never asked him. Peyton was born in Louisiana for one and it's not like he prevented the Saints from winning a SB, Saints beat him. Peyton is without a doubt a Top 5 QB of all-time as well with 2 SB wins and 5 League MVP's. Almost every Saints fan I have came across loves Peyton because he was born there and Archie played for the Saints. I like Drew Brees, I think he is a Top 20 QB ever and one of the best in his era. I like the Saints actually and have never disliked that team. I could see fans from the AFC South hating on Peyton because we won the Division every year or a Patriots fan hating him because of his battles with Tommy.
    • Why even go to another team forum if all you bring is negativity to that team? You know it don't set well with the members of that forum but you do it anyway. It is done with the intent to rub members the wrong way. What does that say about the personality of that person? We have other words we would use for someone like that but really cant be said in this forum. Being concerned or objective is one thing while throwing insults is something else all together. What is the purpose or motive to do that in a teams forum when you know exactly the response you will get? Malice.
    • Regarding Bogie, I like him and we have had some excellent conversations about the history of Football and Basketball and I respect his knowledge. He can be his own worst enemy at times though as he never has anything positive to say about the Colts, puts down Grigs and Peyton quite a bit too. I mean this is a Colts website so I can see why he would rub people the wrong way. You should look at it from the standpoint as well.
    • Titans could win 6 or 7 games (I have them at 6) which would be a huge improvement from 2. Brock isnt going to be any worse than what Houston had, question is will he be much better. Even if he's a little better that could get them 10 wins. I dont see them beating us in Indy again though if Andrew is healthy. Regarding the Jags, there are several people in the media picking them to win the Division believe it or not.
  • Welcome New Members

    • Welcome jseg18!!!  We will pretend that you were not even close to being a Niner fan.   No, from Montana and then Young they were fun to watch.  I hope we all have fun this year.  I do not think the Colts are going to be 3rd in the South.....Have fun.
    • Hello fellow COLTS fans! Well I've been a colts fan for about 15 years. I'm fairly young 25. I am from California. I was almost a 49er fan as I was player orientated. I liked Steve Young when I was a kid because my dads a 9iner fan. Then Peyton Manning happened. We then got Edgerrin James and my pride took off from there. Like most of you fans, I was miserable through those playoff losses to the patriots( dislike anything in Boston since I'm also a Lakers fan). Super Bowl 41 was great. I've been to all of the west coast games for past 10 years, and I've been to LOS once. I'm cut it short, but I'm excited for the 2016 season GO COLTS! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
