Playoff Scenario

13 posts in this topic

Well, I guess I could root for the Texans this week !

haha, if you want to go to Mile High and visit Peyton, you should be.

I, on the other hand, will be rooting for the Ravens, Bengals, Redskins and Vikings.

Kind of interesting how we are each rooting for another team in our division  :dunno:

The Bengals are playing some of the best defense in the NFL right now. Maybe the Texans will get things back on track (particularly with their o-line and secondary), but if they don't they are in for a rough day.

I'd rather play the Broncos in the divisional round. The Ravens played them well a few weeks ago and then things fell apart, but they showed a lot positives (holding Manning to 208 yards and just one TD). The Broncos are on a winning streak that is bound to end and the bye week will halt their momentum, while a win for the Ravens will provide great momentum.

Still have to win tomorrow though!

What has to happen for the COLTS vs. BRONCOS to play in the playoffs ??????? I would love for the two teams to square off !

its simple the colts have to win and the bengals have to lose. that would put us on a first class trip to denver for a meeting against manning and the broncos. if the bengals win and the colts win then its a first class trip to new england to play brady and the patriots.

This set of playoffs is as wide open as I can ever remember.

I dunno, both Denver and New England are formidable teams right now.

I would prefer my Ravens go to New England, simply because I want revenge for last year - but I'm not really sure that the Pats are any easier to beat than the Broncos.

Another factor, I suppose, is that Peyton put a beatdown on us 3 weeks ago in our house.  I don't think we'd have much of a chance against that team at Mile High :(

EDIT: Just reread your post.  Are you talking about the games this weekend, or the playoff picture as a whole?

I meant the whole picture. There are teams on a roll, but everyone has lost a game they shouldn't have, and had impressive victories. Any.....given....Sunday. (or Saturday since it's the playoffs)

I agree, wide open. I took Hawks, Colts, Pack and Tex this week in my pool. I could go 0-4 quite easily.

fast track to Denver.. Colts win and texans win.. next weekend in Denver.

Colts win and Bengals win .. we go to foxboro next weekend.. Colts win there and should go to Denver for AFC championship; HOWEVER... If Colts win and the Bengals win then AFC championship game will be in Indy and No Manning this year.

Go Colts...

I live in Colorado and my Broncos fans ( keep thanking me for Manning, but many have said they are more scared of the Colts than anyone else... they keep feeling the mojo, enigma.. is too much like the Saints in 09...

just thankful to be where we are ...

If we were to advance and play in the next round? I would rather the Colts lose to Manning / Broncos, than to lose to Brady / Patriots !

    • I know it depends on how he plays. And I think he is going to play awfully.. but we will see.
    • I think it had to do with the fact that any little injury has to be on the report with one of the designations. so it was a way of basically saying it's something minor but he will play. It was supposed to give a better picture as to the availability of a player. I can see Teams like the Patriots using "questionable" like they used probable in previous years. Now every week Gronk and Brady will be listed as questionable. Seems infuriating for fantasy football,  as well as for Teams trying to cater gameplans around certain players.
    • I just like the Rod Woodson school of reporting/approach I guess where you are confident in your experience, do your own thing, don't let other personalties manipulate your POV, & you basically ignore all the twitter social media crap out there. I hope Wayne follows this model of broadcasting protocol & JJ Watt too when he's done playing ferocious, pass rusher too.    Yeah I know, Mr. 99 reasons is on Twitter & FaceBook, which is alright since he always handles himself the right way. Keep plugging away at rehab JJ. Love ya man! The league ain't the same without ya...Heal fast okay? Just kidding!
    • Robinson is really an unknown commodity at this point. No one knows if he was pushing for a payday last yr or if he actually just hit his stride in the NFL. It also could just be that he needed a better supporting cast than he had in New Orleans (it's not like they areknown for their defense).    But all things considered,  I suppose this is similar to what Washington did with Josh Norman,  as he really only had 1, maybe 1.5 good seasons in Carolina.  Only difference is our cap hit is much lower and Robinsons ceiling isn't quite as high. If they have reason to be optimistic about it so do we.    Also I'm not sure i trust grigson signing offensive line depth. He hasn't managed to get a good free agent lineman yet. But I guess even a broken clock has to be right twice a day. Probably wouldn't have hurt to bring someone in on a small contract.
    • I get what you're saying RTB & to be frank, there's nothing I'd love to see more then to have Reggie rip Deion Sanders a new one since his condescending smugness always rubs me the wrong way & royally ticks me off. I just deplore his over the top bravado. I find this quality charming in Rex Ryan but I wanna smack #21 hard every time his belittling comments rear their ugly head. Marshall Faulk is much more fair & balanced than Deion ever is.    The one I always have a crisis of conscious over is analyst Shaun O'Hara because I love the NY Giants lineman because he's very funny & great at breaking down plays, but he always slams the Colts line on TV for as long as I can remember. He's not malicious; I just don't think our o-line is as horrific as he likes to claim that it is on a frequent basis.    Getting back to Wayne, I agree you should never forget where you came from & a bias for the Colts is fine as long as Reggie can admit what our true vulnerabilities are because you never get better as a team burying your head in the sand pretending your weaknesses don't exist. Reggie knows this.
