Concerned a bit about Irsay....

I think the photo is pretty funny.

The guy is an owner of a very successful NFL franchise. Why not go out and celebrate? I would be more worried about him if he didn't do anything.

Granted recently he has looked worse, it could have been the stress from the past couple years.

Think maybe you guys are reading too much from a picture?

Sometimes, I think I'd take Jerry Jones over Jim Irsay... And that's saying a whole lot.

"sigh"  really?  why?

Irsay more or less took ownership of the team in 1995 after his dad had a stroke.  Since then the Colts has missed the playoffs a total of four times.  As a fan what more can you ask for from an owner?  He has shown the courage to make difficult moves that has made the franchise better.

Frankly I think fans are extremely emotional and that's where any honest dislike of Irsay comes from.  Look back at this past off-season for example.  When he fired the Polians (a move most fans wanted) he was great.  When it look like he might not fire Caldwell (a move fans did not want) he was an *.  When he did fire Caldwell he was back to being great.  Then when he released Peyton he was back to being an *.

Irsay has proven to be one of the best owner in Sports and I am not sure what else people would want form him.  Yes he might be a little eccentric but he is beyond charitable to the community and has proven he will do whatever it takes to put a winner on the field for fans to enjoy.   That's all you can ask for from an owner of a pro-sports team.

Ok, I have heard the talk on ESPN, PFT, etc. all the time about Jim being a "drunken so-and-so" or something of the like. I don't think that. He battled a painkiller addiction in the 90s, and reportedly has been clean for over 10 years. "Clean" can mean different things to different people. For EXAMPLE (emphasis), he may still have a drink now and then, but probably doesn't take pain pills anymore. But combined with recent videos of him, most notably the latest of him dancing with Pagano, as well as the picture below, makes me worry a bit. I don't think he has relapsed, nor do I think he's the drunk that his father was. That's where most of the "drunken so-and-so owner" talk comes from, people that remember his father and not Jim. But he tweeted this pic last night, and it was posted on Jim Rome's FB page. He certainly looks goofy (what's new?), but he also looks really thin. Maybe he's getting back into shape? But the past several years seem to have taken a toll on him. I don't pretend to know what it is (illness, relapse, etc.), but it does worry me as a fan. I hope he is ok, and this photo was just him being his typical eccentric self.

Any chance this photo is of him on New Year's Eve? If so then this is perfectly normal for most people who enjoy alcohol on occasion. However, the day things start to go south for him will be a sad sad SAD day. I enjoy his closeness to the community and fans.

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like, being rich and famous and everything you do, everything about you is constantly dissected and psychoanalyzed.

Maybe Jim was laughing his butt off before the picture was taken, thus making his face appear red and scrunchy? Maybe he had a few beers? Maybe he was working out just prior?

PS: Is that a painting of a nakey woman behind him? Naughty Jim, you purveyor of pornography you.

I think what some are seeing(including me) is that Irsay is looking really frail and slumped over all the time. I have been noticing it for a  while and was wondering if others had noticed it. Now I know I was not alone. Jim does not look good and he has changed drastically in the last few months. Hope it's nothing serious, but something is going on with his health.

Posting it here: I hope it's nothing more than the hip and hopefully will be out of pain ASAP. Click the image to make it larger.

Seeing these two photos side by side,  I see a definite change in 9 months timespan.   Not judging, or speculating, just stating the fact that he looks more frail in the December photo.  I hope he is really okay.  One thing is for sure,  It's definitely been a year of roller coaster emotions.

Did anyone see Jim's latest Tweet? I like the guy (in all honesty), and I'd be a bit concerned:

Jim Irsay ‏@JimIrsay

With a 1pm game, when is the proper time to crack that 1st brewski? Is 7am a little too early or does the playoffs allow for early prep?

He looks like he's drunk.  Wasn't Kraft a big time boozer when he first bought the Patriots?

Good points brought up it seems like he drifts away from his twitter and at points during the season I wondered why he basically stopped tweeting. Thought it was bc he wanted to take on a more serious tone after our coach's diagnosis.

I'm wondering why he NEVER tweets song lyrics anymore, even on saturday nights which is clearly his favorite time of the week (this always made me chuckle because when you're Jim Irsay every day is saturday).

I just think he wants and likes us fans getting after it. Doesn't necessarily mean that he is partaking. I know when I slowed down on drinking I liked to hear about my friends drinking to almost live bicariously through them--sounds silly but it gave me a laugh when I was trying to quit drinking so much.

Irsay is no different. He's fired up about today like us, back in the old days it might have involved a flask for him but now he's just excited by living through our excitement. LET EM LIVE!

    • I can too. And that will tell us everything we need to know about how the view him. It will tell us their feelings on the tight end room, and what direction they pick from there will tell us even more.    but if they take him at 15, we won’t know much about what might have happened, as they will be landing someone they had rated highly and fell to them.
    • Glad that’s over…    if I wanted to argue about it, I would have responded far more in depth than pointing out how you were attempting to gaslight me. I did not. Meaning I was ending my part of whatever the argument was. You “putting a finality to it” and then listing bullet points tells me it was the argument you wanted all along, which makes sense why you brought Grigson up in the first place. Bait, hook, gaslight. Almost got me buddy. You are a funny guy, Doug
    • Putting a finality on an argument you want to have.   There is a theory that Ballard won't draft a OL high because ARs injuries were not caused by a poor oline.  I felt it important to note that since Luck's major injuries were also not caused by his oline, Ballard could still want to improve it like he did in 2018 simply because AR is The Franchise. And its important to point that out because there has been a running (false) narrative for about 9 years that Luck's oline was the (main) reason for his injuries that kept him out of games.  The (false) narrative is based upon, IMO, a detest of Grigson, and not reality about the facts (or strong rumors) behind the kidney laceration and snowboarding shoulder. Therefore, mentioning Grigson and the (false) narrative was germain to the point about Ballard possibly drafting Oline high this draft to protect AR. Mentioning Grigson shouldn't trigger a CB vs RG discussion, unless people reading it are gaslighted by their own reading lens.
    • That is a very inaccurate description of what happened.  At this point it’s history and doesn’t need to be revisited but I will say Chloe adds value to this board and should be and is by most encouraged to post, even if people don’t always agree with her.
    • My response was in regards to another posted suggesting that the Colts need to get the pick right when it comes to picking a WR. I agree with you .
