Don't worry. Curse skipped him, and got the team instead lol.

That record would mean something if the Lions were not 4-11. At least when Rice got it, they had won the same amount of games that year that the Lions have lost lol. Not saying CJ is a bad player, he's one of the best, but knowing he has that record and the Lions can't even win another game is pretty sad, to be honest.

Rice had a little more talent around him, like a HoF QB. Two, actually.

The sad thing is it will probably go unrewarded.  No playoffs and he will probably lose out on the Offensive Player of the Year award to either Peyton or AP.

Not bad when the third best QB you played with is a former league MVP in Rich Gannon.

Barry Sanders probably would have loved to have Matthew Stafford hand the ball off to him, since he knew Peete, Mitchell, Ware, and Kramer were turnover machines at QB.

Congrats to Megatron!

He's slowly climbing the ladder to the top. I'm not talking about the "top" of today's receivers, or the last 10 years. I'm talking about ALL TIME.

This guy is making history every year and he's only in his mid 20s.

Think was Rodney Peete , may have been Andre Ware but speaking of turnovers

In a  Detroit Suburb clothing store 1 of them tripped me to the floor coming out of a dressing room

Hahaha that's funny! I think they both played there, Ware before Peete. Peete could not stop turning the ball over, remember those 4 INT games very clearly.

The Lions record does not diminish Calvins record in the slightest. There have been many bad teams in the past, and not a single one of those teams had a 2,000yd WR.

As for Rice. The guy was great, but like with anyone on those teams, you can make the argument he wasn't even the best player on his own team. Which is just crazy to think about. Montana, Young, Lott, Craig, Deion, the HC Walsh. Crazy in its own way.

This is an incredible accomplishment.  Even more when you consider that his QB is Stafford (and he is on Detroit's offense) and not a guy like Peyton who will put him in good positions.  I'm a huge Calvin fan.  The guy is an absolute beast, definitely the best receiver in the game today, and is so humble about it.  Great guy on and off the field

    • Hmm just looked.  Didn't know they where getting signing bonuses that big.     However I would say that UDFA's are meat for the grinder.
    • You're welcome
    • I agree . . . probably doesn't help that his own team's fans are booing him.     Guy is in a terrible position because he can't win.  See an ordinary field player could go out there, play really well and show people "See I was worth the pick!!".  A lot of good players have been fueled by that.  JJ Watt still mentioned being fueled by boos on his draft day.  On offense or defense you can do that at any position.     At kicker. . . he could hit every field goal and it wouldn't matter.  Shoot he could set the NFL record for the longest successful field goal and it still wouldn't matter.  Everyone is still going to say he wasn't worth a 2nd round pick.  There is nothing he can do to win.
    • Not "literally". Actually the 4th round draft picks have been getting signing bonuses of half a million dollars.   4 year 3 million $$ contracts.   Not too shabby.    Even 7th rounders are getting $2.5 million dollar salarys with almost $100 thousand signing bonuses.
    • This is the Chargers response to that-   Our contract discussions and offers to the representatives of Joey Bosa have been both fair and structurally consistent with the contracts of every other Chargers player.   Our offer included:   • An initial signing bonus payment that is larger than any player in the League has received in the last two drafts.   • More money in this calendar year than every player in this year’s draft except one (QB Carson Wentz).   • The largest payment and the highest percentage of signing bonus received in the first calendar year of any Chargers’ first-round selection since the inception of the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (2011).   We gave Joey’s representatives our best offer last night, which was rejected today. The offer that we extended was for Joey to contribute during all 16 games and beyond. Joey’s ability to contribute for an entire rookie season has now been jeopardized by the valuable time he has missed with his coaches and his teammates. Since Joey will not report at this time, his ability to produce not just early in the season, but throughout the entire season, has been negatively impacted.   As a result, we will restructure our offer since Joey will be unable to contribute for the full 16 game season without the adequate time on the practice field, in the classroom, and in preseason games.   So even if Joey signs somewhere down the road, the Chargers are already reducing the amount of guaranteed money Bosa can get due to not being able tocontribute on the field for a full 16 game season.  It is going to get very ugly.
