Our best O-line is...STILL TERRIBLE!

I've stopped caring at this point to be honest. I just want the O-line to play well enough to not let Luck die on the field. That's it.

Costanzo is the only player worth keeping long term. Satele is ok. Everyone else is junk...a one year or two year stop gap until Grigson finds better players.

Not sure the beatdown of Castonzo. Very view Left Tackles in the NFL can hold out the defenses best pass rusher for the amount of time these longer routes are taking. What I find so interesting about OLine is that much depends on QB and play calling. If Peyton Manning where on the team with that offense. Castonzo would be consider a very good LT. Because Manning simply would get rid of the ball so fast it wouldn't matter. How many lineman did the Colts have that became free agents, signed to other teams, and did very little or nothing at all?

Seriously, I think Castonzo will be very good one he gets a little more help and he doesn't have to block for 6 seconds on every play.

People dogging Castanzo are foolish. He's been the ONLY reliable guy on the Oline this year. He'll never be Anthony Munoz. He'll never even be Tarik Glenn. But he's a solid NFL lineman. IF Grigson can find another top level tackle and a starting calibre guard in free agency and the draft next year, our Oline won't be half bad next year.

Eh your right Luck does have the tendency to hang onto the ball to long, sometimes thats because he misses a checkdown and other times do to long developing routes, But sometimes when I see one of our O Linemen getting beat bad its like HOLY CRAP MAN! But I think Castonzo needs to improve his run blocking quite a bit.

I can't disagree with this. I love Luck's aggressiveness with the deep ball. Who wouldn't? But the kid has to learn to take the underneath stuff. Once he figures out when to take his shots and settle for the dump off passes when it's not there, watch out. The INTS will stop. The sacks will go down. And the Oline will look better.

Let's not forget...in his 2nd season, Tarik Glenn wasn't even Tarik Glenn (the way we all remember him now). Castonzo's played some fierce pass rushers and held his own, and is an asset in the run game. He's clearly developed from his rookie season and he's probably not done getting better.

I agree that it is obvious that the interior of our O Line is a real concern(Thats obvious). We have two Guards and a Center who simply have not gotten the job done this year(to me it was a given from day 1 it was not going to work well at all) and while Justice not being a world beater, he has played decent but dont see him as being the answer at RT.I think pre injury Ijalana was better suited at LT and to help not expose Justices slow feet he could have been tried at Guard.(This was all pre injury), Next year I would do something different. As for who we put out there for the rest of the season, ......Castonzo-LT LG-Linkenbach C-Shipley RG-Mcglynn RT-Justice

You don't know if Ijalana was better suited for it or not because he played less than a half of football during the regular season in a fill in role. You can't judge any player on that little of a sample. The only other action he has seen was with the second and third units during the pre-season that year when he was just okay at best. If other teams second and third teamers were making him look just okay it's not unrealistic to think that other teams starters would tear him apart.

Castonzo on the other hand has been more than solid at left tackle there is no reason to take our best lineman and start moving him around. Yes he's had his trouble with other super star pass rushers but there isn't a left tackle in the league that doesn't have his issues with other teams super star pass rushers at times.

IF Ijalana is brought back he would probably be tried at either guard or most likely right tackle. If he was just dominating there and Castonzo really started to struggle then and only then would they think about moving him to left tackle. Till then they aren't gong to take their best o-lineman who hasn't been an issue this season and start to move him around. They are going to keep letting him grow into the poistion and use Ijalana to see if he can fill one of the four other holes on the line rather than taking the one poistion they have and saying hey let's try a guy who has played less than a half of football in two years at left tackle!

Justice I have said before I think if he's your fourth or fifth best lineman you are okay with it unfortunately for us he's been our second or third best lineman this year depending on who is healthy. So I think if we were able to land a really a couple of good guards and a center who is the answer then I think you can stick with Justice. With that said I wouldn't be shocked at all if we brought in a guy who can play right tackle either.

    • Looking at OTC now.  Seems like we may have around 10-12M cap space left to go after players in FA.  Do the Colts sign I player or break it down to a few small signings.  Still seeing who is available and limited on time.  Still am high on WR Quez Watkins and seeing the Dolphins are also interested in him.  Watkins played under Shane and figured he would be one of his targets in FA.     Both SS, assuming Cross is the starter, but FS is main focus and probably in the draft.   Not sold one too many true FS from college and sure you seen prior post about how slow these CBs are and a move to FS probably best for their career in the NFL.  Especially Khyree Jackson who has a lot of the overall skill set of Cooper DeJean and might be a viable option later in the draft.
    • I’d like Crossby!   I really like Mitchell, but I just don’t see more youth being a good thing for our CB room. Even if the Sneed thing is made up I still think we should go for a vet.    I hope we can get Cooper in the 2nd. I’d prefer a WR (or Bowers) at 15, but right now I think we’re looking at DE.    Powers-Johnson looks greats, but of all the things we could do I think OL is probably the least likely at 15.    Lots of needs. Safety is probably the biggest, but I don’t think any of them are worth the 15th overall.
    • @Solid84   Still holding out hope we trade our R1P15 to LV for Maxx Crosby give them draft capital to move up for their QB.    If we sit at P15, draft CB Quinyon Mitchell.  Latest report seen was the Colts haven't even talked trade for Sneed.  False news, who knows, time will tell?    If Mitchell is gone before P15 then see a trade back and draft WLB Edgerrin Cooper or OL Jackson Powers-Johnson.
    • I like it overall, but I don't think there's a snowballs chance in hell we're drafting Kinchens after his atrocious Combine. With a RAS of 2.27 he's not even a blip on Ballard's radar lol.
    • Sorry late to the party line chat on Page 57 of 94   Skyy Moore, deleted that draft class and notes but Moore seemed to have some potential but wasn't sold on him.  Viewed Moore as an average receiver not much more.  I wouldn't trade for him.   If you were looking to trade for any WR, I would suggest targeting the Packer's Dontayvion Wicks.    As for some of these other comments that I have read up and not going to ready through 30 pages.  Colts spent 200M on most of their own (top NFL) players,    Recent news I saw is that the Colts haven't had any communication talks about trading for Sneed.  How true that is or not to be seen.  Seems the Colts have done a lot spending 200M on their own and doubt we have much cap space left to sign a big-name player like Sneed.  Still haven't seen latest cap space figures since our latest signing.     The Colts build through the draft and those expectations will not change this season.  Again, our organization was lucky enough to sign some of our best positional players.  Sadly, not everyone can get resigned and do expect Blackmon to move on.  Latest rumor is Blackmon signs with the Bills.
