I really liked the signing of Avery at the time, and even more now. Low risk, high reward, and we cashed in on that reward!

Yep just pick up Quinton Patton through the draft and our WRs will be set

I agree he has been playing better than I thought. He just needs to catch those easy ones that sometimes get away from him.

I'd rather sign Wallace or Bowe and focus on O/D lines and a safety and pass rushers

Avery was signed as the "deep threat" that would add a vertical component to our offense.

Not only has he made a lot of deep passes, including a big one today, but he's become a reliable receiver. He's running better routes.

We're definitely getting the "reward" part of this risk-reward signing. He's here to stay.

Can't believe that even after today there are those here who won't mind if we don't keep Avery.... and they want another WR either from FA or the draft...

You want a better offense?

Get a better offensive line. That's the issue. We're not struggling because of WR issues. We struggle because of OL issues.

If we find another WR -- fine. But I don't think it's a priority for this team. We have too many other serious needs that are much higher on the priority list than finding another WR.

Just my two cents....

He played well today. Was a big part of the win.

I still dont see him being more than a stop gap at the #2 spot. Just MO.

Exactly. I would rather build up the oline ext year for the future even if it means the team doesn't do as well in the second year because of it. Protect luck now so he can play into his 15th year for us. We have to solidify that oline and pick up an impact player or 2 on the defense, we need players who can make turn overs to give the ball back to the offense more.

Avery is invisible at times, but he has stepped up a few times this season. I'm happy we signed him.

Hilton & Avery statistically had the best game but all of the receivers contributed to todays game.

Allen & Fleener looked good even though they had 1 reception each. Fleener's TD catch & Allen running 40 yards looked like a big hummer going down the field.

Wayne made some great catches especially on that last drive and almost had the first game winner.

    • I know Gore missed getting 1,000 last year but it was just by a little bit.  He had no room to roam and his coordinator was fired midway thru.  Luck was only around for 7 games and wasn't much at that.  He now has more beef up front to block for him too.  I like Frank to go over 1,000 this season provided HE himself stays relatively healthy.  So many on the outside see him as washed up and old (ask SF fans if they would like to have him back!) but after watching his highlights from last season I still see the burst there and his knack for finding tough yards in small spaces.  He doesn't look like a RB who is ready to hang'em up just yet.  This is what he can STILL do people if the Colts can just get him more opportunities.    I am posting a link to his highlights here.  Since I'm relatively new, I'm not sure if it is OK to post the actual video or not, but after reviewing the board rules I didn't find anything about it being prohibited unless it is illegal, which I don't believe this is.  If this is in violation, admins please remove.  Otherwise, enjoy!   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sp40C0PTiMA
    • I'm not just that thought about the Colts. I wish every move of every team started a new history. For instance, the NY Yankees were once the Baltimore Orioles. The modern Orioles were once the St Louis Brown's. I seriously doubt anyone in Los Angeles even knows what a Trolley-Dodger is, nor people in Utah understand why they are the Jazz.
    • I'm ready.  I like the expectations (or lack thereof) for them this season.  I think the pressure is off, Luck got paid, just time to go out and prove the doubters wrong.  They aren't talking Superbowl.  Just work hard and good things will happen.  I like that Chud is running the offense.  I like that most everybody is healthy.  I like the additions of the coaching staff.  I like that most people are talking about how good the Texans and Jags will be.  Meanwhile the Colts just lie in the weeds (as Doyel put it at RATS).  I like where they are at right now.  No promises.  Just let the chips fall where they may.  And I like their record in the recent past in that scenario.
    • Not everything is as it seems. This is most certainly a 'conditional' reinstatement.  Here was what was reported a while back-   "Gordon was suspended two games in 2013, 10 games in 2014 and for the entire 2015 season for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy. He was denied reinstatement in April after reports he failed a drug test because of a diluted samples that also tested positive for marijuana. The level of marijuana did not meet the NFL's threshold for suspension, but the diluted samples are considered the same as a positive test. "   Also there are reports Goodell had met with the Browns, to get their position on Gordon, and likely get pledges or assurances that they wouldn't cut him straight away, or trade him.   So Gordon gets reinstated, but yet he does not.  He is immediately suspended for 4 games to begin his reinstatement?  Something isn't right.  He's certainly on the thinnest of ice.  He diluted a urine sample as recent;u as this past April.  He was level 3 in the NFL drug program leading up to that.  He can be tested multiple times this year for THC and other substances, each with  a3 hour notice at the facility or on game day.  What are his chances he has quit everything cold turkey?  I wish him well, but fear it won't be enough.  We will see.
    • The Green Bay receiver who missed last season with a knee injury begins training camp on the PUP list (physically unable to perform) Does this surprise anyone? Are they just being careful.? is this a big deal? The season begins in what?   7 weeks..   He's so important to them...and I had heard that he was well on his way to a full recovery. I think they have 5 pre-season games and he really doesnt need to play in mor e than one or two of them   Is starting camp on the PUP list nothing serious
