From what I could tell he played as well as Zibi. Hard to tell on TV. We'll need some reports from people who were there.

He did kneel down on a KR for a change, which was smart.

There wasn't enough done to say he was leagues better than Zibi, but he definitely didn't do anything to embarass himself today. I think he did a solid job filling in. I'll say that. I think Lefeged did have something to do with that 3rd and 5 the Colts stuffed the Lions on late in the 4th quarter that gave us the final possession that won the game.

I didn't think he made much of an impact to say how good or how bad he was.

I thought he played well. It was only one game and I never really saw the ball thrown near him. Most of Stafford's passes went to the right where Vaughn and Bethea were. He should start again. Atleast one more week to see more of him.

And lol it's Lefeged hambone35.

Didn`t see Joe do that much. He couldn`t catch someone from behind on a long play.

Zib shows up being isolatated and USED pretty often, they didn`t go after Joe. A good sign.

We definitely need to develope a better Safety.

I didn't get to see the game, but I read a few articles from bleacherreport (I know the complaints) that said he was responsible for the big td that Johnson got. Said he was cover the back end of that. Can anyone confirm?

No it was one of our CBs. When Stafford rolled out, that CB left Johnson to cover the TE or other WR I believe, leaving Davis to chase after Johnson from behind...Not really much of a chance there.

I was excited to see Davis (who played awsome) and Butler start as our cornerback duo.......but that did not happen. Can someone shed light as to why Vaugh is STILL starting? Vaugh is just OK, but thats about it. Davis and Butler could be a very good combo.

Lefeged played well. I want to see more of him. Zibs had his chance.

Right now our D is playing consitently better that it ever did in the Manning era!!!!! (I don't care about stats) Chuck Strong

I think that like Zibikowski if I've not noticed him they've had an ok game at least. To be honest what with everything yesterday I forgot he was playing but that's not a negative. Worth another start, sure why not.

Butler started as well. The way Manusky was handling the coverages kept Vaughn on Johnson for some reason. Butler was on the field just as much, but he didn't have to cover Johnson much.

I thought Lefeged did alright. Not spectacular, not terrible.

Why the heck was Vaughn on Megatron all day??? At the very least put Butler on him.

Why was Davis not following Johnson all day??

I thought Lefeged tackled well, but I didn't see anything spectacular. Overall, he seems to be better than Zib, but I saw nothing that would keep me from drafting a 1st round safety next year. Check that: watching McGlynn and Linkenbach trying to block Su and Fairley could have me drafting an OG like Barrett Jones of Alabama...

again vontae just came back from injury so covering megatron wasnt the best idea the coaches probably figured megatron would get his catches nomatter who was on him so they had their best dbs shutting down all other options to force him to go to megatron all the time. The same strategy we used against denver when marshall set record for receptions

What was the coverage there? I went back to look and we only rushed three. There had to be a blown coverage. With eight men back, somebody had to have the high zone. Who was it?

P.S. Lefeged was...solid. No obvious flaws etc.

Vaughn is not OK, he is garbage. He gets picked on each and every week. I cannot wait until we have a new outside and nickel CB to go along with Davis next year.

    • That was last year.... not the case for this year... we are playing like zombies out there
    • My point when I explain what the Colts did in 2013 is to remind posters here that we DID try to address the problem.   Posters repeated ask why hasn't Grigson tried to do more sooner?      What was he waiting for?      I'm simply reminding fans that Grigson invested serious money and draft picks hoping to solve our OL problem in his 2nd year.      We needed to give those moves time to either pan out and work,   or not pan out and get cut.      In the last few years,  he's added Mewhort,  Good, and Kelly,  and Reitz improved the quality of his game.      But we are still not a cohesive unit yet.     Unfortunately,  the OL often takes time to gell and became a solid working unit.       And that's where we are now.....    waiting for the unit to come together.   But we will likely take a step back this week.     Good is out with a bad back,  and I'm not sure how he's going to get replaced?
    • I haven't seen one Chargers game all year not even Preseason football. I know Philip Rivers will play lights out like he normally does. However, it's difficult to make a prediction or score off a team I haven't watched once since Sept. 11th though.    I guess I abstain from any projections due to a lack of visual evidence or game viewership on my part. If our DBs are banged up our out, Rivers will have a field day with our secondary unfortunately.
    • so true, but they are as banged up on offense as we've been on D. Looking at their skill positions and they will be without Gates, Oliver, and Johnson in addition to Woodhead and Allen...  I guess I'm not buying Melvin Gordon, yet.    I'm a homer all the way, but I still think that we win this one by more than a TD.
    • 1 less than glowing complement about our GM does not mean that I am throwing out the baby with the bathwater CC1. You will recall that I complemented Grigs on Kelly, Anderson, & Parry correct?    Not exactly demanding that Grigs be tarred & feathered am I now? It's a little hard to make the case that SW1 is Mr. "negativity" after that. Also, there's a difference between crucifying a GM & pointing out that no front office execute gets gold stars for failures that never came to fruition BTW. The NFL isn't Kindergarten; No one gets a participation ribbon for just trying or showing up.
