My 2013 FA/Draft

12 posts in this topic

Resign: Avery( as 2nd or slot reciever)

Reitz (back up)

Justice (back up)

Moala

Fokou(depth)

Freeney ( i know what youre thinking but if we can get him for a good deal and sign him like we did for wayne last year,we will be golden)

Powers( nickelback)

McAfee (obviously)

Sign: mike wallace (WR)

Jake long or ryan clady ( if we can afford them)

Andy Levitre (G)

Arthur Jones (DE)

Nnamdi asomugha ( i know hes not listed as an FA next year but lets face it, with the situation in philly and the fact they released someone like babin, i can see the release of Nnamdi coming shortly)

Draft 1st: Chance Warmack G from alabama

3rd:sean porter or chase thomas

4th: jesse williams, robert lester or devin taylor.

To me,safety isnt a massive priority as it seems to me that joe can play safety in place o Zibby if need be. My biggest concern is our 2 lines hence why most acquisitons are lineman.

The question with Long/Clady is not whether we can afford them, that's a given. It's whether they're available.

S isn't a big priority because we have a good backup? We'll see how Lefeged plays.

i have several problems with this

1 we can't afford all these free agents

2. Jesse Williams is a high 2 nd rounder

3. If we sign Wallace, Avery is worthless, they are clones

4. Nnamdi is overrated and expensive, rather use a pick on a cb

5.warmack is rising fast, and may not be there when we pick, I would prefer nix or dion Jordan or Justin hunter or Keenan Allen

if that happened and we used delone carter instead of ballard omg we would be good but i hope we could afford all of them? and i also hope that arthur jones is good because we need jones chapman redding to be good for us. no more of flipping moala jeeze

1. With $40 Million, I think we will be able to sign a reasonable amount of these free agents

2. People drop in drafts all the time.last years showed Chris Polk, Chase Minnifield, Alfonzo Dennard, Vontaze Burfict and even Josh Chapman ( considered 3rd rounder in some mock drafts)

3.Avery can still play a role in our offense if Wallace is signed, namely a deep threat in the slot. but with your comment that's like saying with Avery on the roster, someone like TY Hilton is worthless because they are basically the same player.

4. Asomugha was playing in a zone based defense in Philly, we play man here and so did Oakland when they had him. If he even performs near to how he played in Oakland, I ( and possibly others) wouldn't mind at all signing him to big contract.

5. http://walterfootball.com/draft2013charlie_1.php, according to this Warmack has a chance of being around by the time our pick comes around so he would be a good choice.

Drop Avery, sign Wallace... Drop Powers, sign Shields... sign Levitre and Jones... add a Safety in your draft plans and I'm on board with this

alternatively we could sign and trade Avery and Powers ( like they do in NBA) as a result getting some draft picks for them. As for safety, i've got in the 4th round maybe Robert Lester from Alabama, not a big name like Elam or Reid but can get the job done.

I didn't say we couldn't sign them we just have to be careful because I don't want our cap to be tied up for years

Your right people fall but they fell due to injuries and behavior Jesse Williams has neither

Avery and TY are Wallace clones no point in having all 3

I didn't say Nnamdi was a bad player, just not worth our cap space

WalterFootball is always wrong especially about where they would be picked and warmack is going up draft boards quickly not saying he won't be there but you never know

    • Sign WR James Jones - It makes too much sense.
Jones is slow and struggles to get seperation. That's why he didn't have a team last September when the Pack signed him off the street. He seems like a good guy but I don't think we need him here.   We will only keep 5 or 6 WR's. We know barring injury Hilton Moncrief and Dorsett are on the 53 man. I think we can pencil Bray in because of his KR duties. He may slide to 5th on the WR depth chart but I think he finds his way on the roster. That would leave us with 1 maybe 2 roster spots.   We have guys that can fill those spots in camp. Brian Tyms is the guy I think has a real shot 6'3 205lbs. This will be his 4th year in the league. He had a huge 2014 preason looked like a break out player. I stashed him on my fantasy league roster. Then he was hit with a 4 game suspension to start the season he didn't see a lot of chances on offense after that but was a good gunner on ST's. One of reasons I think he has an inside track. He missed all last season with an injury.    We have a lot of talent that we brought in as UDFA's. I really like Tevaun Smith from Iowa. After his pro day I was surprised he went udrafted. 6'1 208lbs catches anything close. He ran the 40 in 4.38. He had a 38-inch vertical and 10-foot-2 broad jump.short shuttle in 4.26 seconds and the three-cone in 6.72 seconds   We also have McKay 6'5 kid from Cinn.  A sleeper i will be watching is Leak from Maryland, Rodgers Gramblimg is intersting. Then we signed Stangby back in Jan. If we decide we need WR help It should not be hard to find. We could have signed Hartline or Jones this week. I'd take Hartline of the two.   The TE panic I really don't get I think we keep 3. The 2 TE sets are gone. We have a proven starter and back up in Allen and Doyle. The camp battle for the 3rd spot between Swoope, Griswold, and Miller should be one of the best battles in camp this year. I predict Griswold takes it. We look good at TE from here.
    • Training Camp Battle-MLB
Irving is known for his run stopping ability and not his coverage skills... Losing 20lbs may help him in coverage, but he isnt known for that.
    • Colts' Scouts: What they liked about LeRaven Clark....
We can disagree. That's perfectly fine obviously but I'd still like to know why you disagree with anything I said regarding my first two paragraphs. I mean its a fact that O Linemen who have had bad combines have went on to have great careers. What will help in Clarks transition is if he shows the ability to process information and translate that to the football field more than any combine numbers will (For the record I was specifically speaking of most of the drills with the exception of bench press and position drills NOT everything else that goes into it like interviews and med checks. That would be absurd to think that of course).   As to specifically his arm length.......That wont help him consistently enough unless he learns how to use them better. They certainly don't mean he has a higher upside or be a big factor on if he becomes good or great even. They will help him against the same quality of player he is currently which is really below average but not horrible(To be specific...against D Lineman that cant separate). But against quality D Linemen he will have a hard time regardless of arm length until he gets the fundamentals down

Whenever I read stuff like your first two paragraphs I seriously wonder about how you process information......   Let's just say we'll have to agree to disagree........     because I don't want to get into it with you and crash the darn website!!      (Sigh.....)

Yea, well not my fault I didn't click a topic reading, "Am I reading this right"

Hello my Name is Robin. And i'm from Denmark. even though i've been member on this forum for a long time, and the old one as well. I would like to Introduce myself. I became a Colts fan in 2007, when I watched my first NFL game. My brother introduced me to NFL, the superbowl between Colts & Bears, And as we all know the Bears scored first, so I had to rude for the "underdogs".. and from that day on I was hooked. I've watched every game since, even the primetime games, that starts 2:30 in Denmark, it's a long day working with no sleep but damn its worth it. Can't wait for my next big Colts adventure, when I get to see them playing in London

I have been a fan since 1984 when I became an early teen and really started to understand the game. Colts moved to Indianapolis in 1984 and eventhough we stunk for a while, things obviously got better. We traded for Dickerson in 1987 and won the Division, then we had Harbaugh's magical season in 1995, the Peyton ERA where winning 12 games was a piece of cake + winning a SB in 2006, now the Andrew ERA where we have already had 3 11 win seasons and a deep Playoff run.
