Jets [Merge]

No offense but I havent really considered the Bills real players for the post season in a while, ya got a couple of good wr's but Fitzpatrick while not a bad QB he is not a qb thats even close to a what Tom Brady is, a Peyton Manning. Ben Roethlisberger, Eli Manning is and thats Franchise QB's, Fitz has put up ok numbers but not numbers that are consistently great year in and year out

You forgot Brees, shame on you!

How.Did.The.Colts.Lose.To.Those.Clowns.

And not just lose but blown out as if they were all stuck in quick sand during the game being paid off to lose or something. MY GOD. And by clowns I mean the Jets of course. Only us......I swear. Sigh. I can understand getting beaten week 1 in Chicago in a blow out or the Pats game but the Jets? I want a rematch!!!!!!!!

And NE has been getting a boat load of turnovers lately, Sheesh, that one on special teams tonight was hilarious though earlier on, almost as if the Pats/Jets special teams practiced it or something. You cough up the ball to them and they make you pay. Same with Denver and the 2009 Saints we hold so near and dear to our hearts. haha NE currently has one more interception this season over the Broncos. Oh yeah, Indy is dead last in getting turnovers! Ugh. Please Colts starting picking off some QBs!!!

Remind me why most halfway decent teams and above (note: I am NOT labeling the Pats as a "halfway decent team") have no problem smacking these clowns around and yet the Bills just fold up when they run into these guys?

Imagine the Bills winning out the season and then losing the finale to the Jets at home (which is still a long shot, we need to play the Colts, the Seahawks, and Miami in their place), thus getting swept by them, and missing out on a WC spot...that'd be more humiliating than losing to Pittsburgh's backups in the 2004 finale when our playoff picture then was essentially win and in....

I actually respect the Bills buffalo34. You have a lot of nice pieces there...Mario Williams, CJ Spiller, Jairus Byrd, Fred Jackson, & Ryan Fitzpatrick has some flashes of brilliance IMO. Give Chan Gailey & his staff time to strengthen & revamp that squad. Although owner Ralph Wilson may not be a spring chicken anymore, he is a great historic ambassador for the NFL & he has confidence in the staff he hires, spends money to improve the team, & he lets the coordinators coach without constant interference. I really respect that personally.

The Bills didn't fold like a lawn chair buffalo34, they almost beat NE at home & the Patriots rarely lose on their own turf. Be patient...The Bills are no joke like the Raiders or the Jets my friend. Hang tough alright.

Well that is a vote of confidence for sure. :funny:

I know what you mean though. Bills have talent. They are just so Bills like at times.

I had the exact same thoughts you did Jules. Seeing NE manhandle the Jets tonight made the Colts loss to them so painful & humiliating. A Colts interception would be a nice & rare occurrence to see in our secondary for once. Meanwhile, Vince Wilfork was a 1 man wrecking crew in the running game & the Pats secondary was on fire tonight. Our lack of turnovers & a vulnerable offensive line is why we won't make the Playoffs this year even as a Wildcard option IMO.

Well the o line is what it is. Not much can be done to drastically change them now. However, we are doing better running the ball this year then I had expected at times. 14th in the league maybe? Or were heading into todays games. Luck is gonna take his shots, I knew this heading into the year. Just pray none of them will hurt him badly or concuss him. He's a tough kid, he takes a lot out there. And yeah I know about the playcalling controversies.... ;)

As for turnovers. Come on we can get more! I know we can! Just a few, pretty please Colts. Would help if Vontae stays on the field soon too for the rest of the year. Our secondary has had some errr issues if you want to put it gently. Like Grigson said, if you can't make it as a CB here then you are a leper!!!

For Gods sakes. We picked off Rodgers to start our comeback. RODGERS. Then we can't pick off horrible QBs. lmao

Ahhh this Colts team is a trip and a half. Love em.

Exactly. Shanchez is so pathetic it's hilarious! Tim Tebow couldn't possibly do any worse. Why the hades did you bring him to NY anyway? Headlines was part of it sure, but come on Rex you are paying Tebow a lot of money to stand on the sidelines & maybe run 4 plays. Tebow doesn't deserve this cruel treatment. Sanchez bleeping sucks. He looks even worse that the Bears backup QB Jason Campbell & Matt Cassel put together.

I have never been a huge Tebow fan but I agree. What is he there for? I don't understand. Is he there to help sell tickets as the most famous special teams player in the league or something?

Poor Tim. When they show him on the side line he looks like he is thinking, "Please put me in. Help me. Please put me in. Give me a chance. I was a hero last year. Now I am a backup to Mark *I suck so bad* Sanchez."

Beautifully stated Jules every single word. Yup, concussions is precisely what scares me too. The pocket is always breaking down too much & I don't want Luck blindsided or sacked too much a la David Carr. Without a decent o-line, even a great QB like Luck is playing russian roulette with an inevitable violent hit or collision.

You know, I never thought I'd say this...But, I actually feel sorry for Tim Tebow. You are 100% right. Based on his success in Denver last season, Tebow deserves to be inserted in the starting lineup. Tebow, is a heck of a lot tougher mentally & physically than Sanchez is...My 13 year old nephew who plays center on a pee wee league could knock Sanchez out cold for crying out loud. haha The guy has no backbone whatsoever.

LOL we are in full blown Sanchez/Jets bashing mode. lmao

To be fair though Denver has better talent then the Jets do so I am not even sure how much success Tebow would have.

Is Rexy gonna get fired after this year? Those back to back trips to the AFCCG can only last so long.....

And who didn't see this coming with Mark Sanchez? Just bringing IN Tebow after last year seemed like a recipe to further lower his self confidence.

Oh yeah and the G Men might want to beat GB at home on SNF. Just saying. These NY/Jersey fans can only take so much! ;)

Word is now that Tebow has a few broken ribs. According to Rex.

Huh?

They are saying that is why he didn't play tonight.

Okaaaaaay.

How did he even get broken ribs then? Dude barely sees the field.

Where are those annual SB predictions now? Just your daddy Buddy, perhaps you should have talked less and kept your stadium ego in check Rex...Just a thought. Rex is an exceptional DC though no question.

God, I am fascinated by train wrecks. as long as they don't happen to my friends, me, and the Indianapolis Colts.

I often wonder in situations like this, if you could see the whole picture like an outside body experience, what would you do differently? Not make a public enemy of Bill Belichick and the Patriots, selected QB Josh Freeman in the 2009 draft instead of Mark Sanchez, and actually win the AFC Championship Game vs the Steelers in 2011 just to highlight a few vital points of interest.

The GreenBay Packers and Aaron Rodgers would have still hoisted the Lombardi Trophy anyway in my estimation.

Let's see....

.....a loudmouth head coach with a foot fetish who is clearly out of answers

.....a QB who motorboats his OG in the rass on his way to ANOTHER turnover as they get thrashed in prime time on Thanksgiving

.....a backup QB with 7 passing attempts all season yet somehow gets ripped by his 4-7 butter-soft teammates

......and all of it in NYC

Yes....that is an accurate depiction of the NY Jets

    • Let's talk UDFA: Tevaun Smith
I am also pretty high on Smith.   I don't think he would have received any more attention had he gone to a different ('better') football school, as Iowa was a top 10 team last year and Kirk Ferentz is one of the most-highly respected college coaches by NFL Teams (there was a while when I thought he was going to be Colts' head coach, in fact).  There was a while when Polian was very high on Iowa's program (when we drafted Bob Sanders, Dallas Clark), and I believe either Pagano or Grigs mentioned how NFL ready players from Iowa are when we drafted Blythe this year.   All that said, I think Smith is very raw.  He needs much help on consistency in route running and in using his body.  As you mentioned, he has the size (he is actually somewhere around 6'0" or 6'1", though, not at 6'2") where bulking up should not be a major issue, but right now he either seems to lack strength (though 13 reps of 225 at his pro day is pretty strong for a WR) or lack of knowledge of how to use his size to his advantage.   He does have the hands and the speed, I think, for sure.  If he's coachable and can really improve his route-running, I could see him sticking around on the 53, but right now I'm projecting him as a practice squad player.
    • The Trouble With Andrew Luck
Way too many generalizations and inaccuracies for me.    1) It's not really true that Hilton struggles against press coverage. He actually eats press coverage up most of the time he faces it, which is why rarely anyone tries to press him. This is just the typical knock against a smallish receiver -- he's only 5'10", so he has trouble with physical coverage. Yeah, ask Brandon Browner about that... The only strategy that slows down Hilton is to bracket him with a corner underneath and a safety over the top, and if the only way to stop a receiver is to double him, then he qualifies as a true #1. If jamming him at the line was all you had to do to stop him, teams would jam him.   2) Acting like Gore and Turbin can't produce in the passing game is dumb. Gore has averaged 34 catches/year over his career, with over 8 yards/catch. He's older, so maybe he won't get that many receiving opportunities, but the Colts have a handful of younger guys who have the pass catching skill set and who will compete for the RB3/4 spots on the roster. If the Colts want to utilize backs in the passing game, they'll be able to.   3) Acting like Dwayne Allen isn't capable of producing as a pass catcher is also ridiculous. He's not Jimmy Graham, but he's been an all over the field pass catcher since Clemson. Line him up wherever you want. No reason he can't be a reasonably high volume pass catcher, especially since he's now the undisputed TE1, not sharing the role with Fleener. The writer compares Allen to Martellus Bennett, who had a 90 catch season two years ago, but averages 43 catches/year. Allen had 45 catches as a rookie. He is the droid you're looking for.   I agree with the overall premise of the article. Luck has some work to do, but the offense has to evolve in order to take better use the weapons we have and minimize the weaknesses. The previous coordinator didn't do a good job of this. Chud didn't have Luck for 6 of his 7 games, and wasn't running his preferred offense anyway. We'll see what Chud has in store, but I'm optimistic that he has a good idea of how to get this offense tuned up.
    • Extremly early prediction...
Jones, if healthy, IMO, is our best DL.  I am optimistic he'll be OK because his injuries the past 2 years have happened on different ankles, he doesn't have a long history of being injury-prone (IMO, he came back too early 2 seasons ago, and last season's injury was just a freak accident), plus I'm pretty optimistic from what I hear/read about our new strength coach.  Donald Thomas was weak and he was truly injury-prone (IMO).   Also, DQ has been a pro-bowler the past 2 years and has been a pretty darn good player for us. I don't see Sylvestre being an upgrade over him.   I also don't think we're going to be making any big FA signings at all for the remainder of this offseason, so I don't think saving up cap space this year will do us any real good.  I could see us getting rid of him after this season, but no way can I imagine he won't be on the 53 this year.
    • Let's talk UDFA: Tevaun Smith
I've decided to try and start a thing to go in depth and discuss some of the udfa's we've picked up. It always seems like we bring in a good batch of UDFA but I think this year was very good and can see a couple making the 53.   So to starts things off we will talk about a WR out of Iowa that was born in Canada, Tevaun Smith. 6'2 205 and his 40's at his pro day were 4.41 and 4.38 (Moncreifs' was 4.35 and 4.40 at the combine). He's a very gifted receiver and would have probably got alot more attention if he went to a better football school. He has impressive hands and snatches balls out of the air. I like the way he gets separation using either his speed or a quick double move. He seems very agile and he's good at playing and tracking the ball. A con though is he doesn't play very physical and he's a little light at 205 but he could easily bulk up. He was highly praised coming out of high school and has all the tools you really want in a WR, he seems to have his head on straight and appears to be a hard worker. I definitely would not mind him being #4-5 WR. An obvious and easy comparison is Moncreif and think he won have easily been worth a 5th  I'm no Profesional and there's several on here that have more knowledge than I so please take it easy on me, I would like to continue these especially since it's a lil slow on here. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BIoBxIdZULU

When I first saw this thread, I thought I was late to the party, but then I saw that this thread has been going since 2012.   I'm still late to the party, but story of my life.  I joined in 2015, but have been a Colts fan since I was a kid.   My first Colts memory is getting a hat signed by Quentin Coryatt at training camp, and that same year almost going to the SB.   My favorite Colts memory is beating the Pats to get to the SB in 2006.   Favorite Colts:   1. Peyton Manning 2. Marvin Harrison 3. Reggie Wayne 4. Dallas Clark 5. Brandon Stokely   Needless to say, Peyton (#1) and everyone he threw the ball to (#2-5) won me many, many fantasy football games, and are my guys for eternity.   You might assume from my top 5 Colts that I am a "new-age" "fairweather" fan who only likes offense and points.  You are wrong.  I am grateful for the offensive Renaissance in Indy, but Defense is my passion.  My secret top 5 Colts: Bob Sanders, Dwight Freeney, Robert Mathis, Cato June, Gary Brackett.   I want Henry Anderson to help lead a Defensive Renaissance in Indy.  Luck and TY are great, and I hope the OLine is outstanding, but the D is the Key.

Hey guys,   I have been posting for probably a year or so now.  I reside in Brazil, IN, which is about 20 minutes East of Terre Haute on I-70.  I'm 28 years old and have been a Colts fan since Harbaugh days, but really started following and rooting hard for them after they drafted Manning in 98.  I love our team and my family and I make sure we are ready to rock for every game.  We always have viewing parties at my father-in-laws or my house and are known to holler and scream at the TV!  Hope all is well with all of you, and GO COLTS!
