MNF Bears vs 49ers

19 posts in this topic

Who does everyone think will win tonight? Bears or 49ers? backup qb vs backup qb.

Also, if any mod is on and wants to open up chat for us that would be great! :)

Big game next weekend. 49ers at Saints. Revenge game for Saints in a way from the playoffs. And who is QB for the Niners?

Oh God, the Bears look like toast right now.

Darn it I hope not...because Brady won the SB in his second year when he took over. If my squad gets in, I don't want history to repeat itself.

The time to get scared is if the 49ers end up the second seed like NE in 2001!!!. ;)

I mean assuming they don't just waltz out Smith again next week or something.....

Even scarier would be Brady vs. Kaep in NO a la 2001. And in 2001 the Pats and Rams played each other. Niners/Pats play later.

I am getting carried away...... :D

Hahahaha this is stranger than fiction. If they do bring back Smith next week, he better play like he's never played before or the fans will revolt and it will be the Tebow Effect all over again. If Brady and Kaepernick do meet in the SB, I think we can officially call ourselves seers lol.

He could be "the next Browning Nagle" and still be seriously considered for the job.

Who knows about the AFC right now but I have had my eye on the 49ers for the NFC like I am sure a lot of us have.

I know this kid is only just starting tonight but the Bears D is no joke and honestly who really has that much faith in Alex Smith?

What will Harbaugh do......he seems loyal to Smith but then again they did check out Manning. ;)

A lot of Niners fans don't really love Smith either to begin with.

Barring a big injury or a drug conviction, we're getting nowhere near him.   McCaffrey might fall to us.

Did you ever watch a dark romantic comedy that just collapsed or imploded on it's own face? Well, I just did & this epic 2015 disaster is called appropriately "Trainwreck." Hey, look on the bright side, it's known as foreshadowing right? For starters, this 2 hour & 4 minute picture directed by Judd Apatow is too darn long. Second, in the interest of full disclosure, I have never found comedian Amy Schumer funny. I have listened to some of her standup routine & I stare at my watch waiting for an eternity for her to say anything remotely humorous. It's admirable that she tries to address the concerns of women that are full figured with meat on their bones wider than a supermodel toothpick sure. However, she's just not a woman who has ever made me laugh. Plus, Amy's dialog in this flick is too sexually centered in scope with almost nothing else redeeming about her character. Just in case you were wondering, yes Amy is related to NY Senator Chuck Schumer in real life too. Third, Amy's co-star in this film Bill Hader gave a much better performance in "The Skeleton Twins" than this piece of trash. Fourth, director Judd Apatow known for the tremendous TV show 'Freaks & Geeks' completely missed the mark here. The script is too predicable & can be seen from a mile away. Judd you're so much better than crap like this man come on dude seriously.    This flick is like a raunchy version of "When Harry Met Sally" except without the sharp wit of Meg Ryan & Billy Crystal. Only this time, the opposites attract are between a doctor & a writer for a tabloid magazine like Cosmopolitan filled with articles about sports, finding the perfect mate, & favorite sexual positions etc. etc.    Plotline: Amy Townsend [Amy Schumer]  lives in the Big Apple as a writer for a pathetic relationship ship magazine. Hey, since her character's last name is Townsend, does that mean she is the offspring of Who guitarist Pete Townsend? No, but it's the 1st question that popped into my head though. Amy sleeps around a lot & she basically an alcoholic. There's a reason for that. At a young age, she had her father Gordon [Colin Quinn] explain to her & her sibling Kim [Brie Larson] why their parents were breaking up & getting a divorce. Basically, Gordon used a doll analogy to tell his girls that he cheated on their mother, got thrown out the house, & that a committed relationship with 1 other person for a long time was unnatural & should be avoided at all costs.    Because of this misguided pearl of wisdom, Amy went thru a number of 1 night stands like chewing gum. Her sister Kim chose to settle down, buy a house, get married & have a son. All that changed for Amy when she is forced to do a feature magazine article on the sports medicine doctor & flawless surgeon to superstar athletes like Lebron James & Amar'e Stoudemire named Dr. Aaron Conners [Bill Hader]. Thru the course of writing the article, Dr. Conners & Amy do sleep together, but she is petrified because she has never dated such a smart & kind boyfriend before. She starts to feel genuinely happy for the 1st time in her life so Amy decides to sabotage the chemistry they have together by blowing Aaron off to take a call from her editor as he is giving a speech accepting a prestigious award for his charity work as a member of Doctors Without Borders giving life saving medical care to the poor & disadvantaged in war torn countries abroad.    As a result, Amy fights with Aaron wondering why such a sweet, well adjusted guy likes & even claims to love her. They argue throughout the night, which prevents Dr. Conners from being able to carry out a vital knee surgery the next day. They decide to part ways & shortly thereafter Kim sadly informs her sister that their beloved father Gordon has passed away. This earth shattering news forces Amy to stop drinking, refrain from smoking pot anymore, & she gets Dr. Conners feature article spotlighted in a reputable periodical called Vanity Fair. Amy mails a copy of the magazine directed to Aaron's team office for the NY Knicks & this noble gesture prompts Dr. Conners to start seeing Miss Townsend socially again. Amy ultimately wins her man back by doing a cheerleader floor routine on the court at Madison Square Garden. She fails to use a trampoline properly, but it's okay because this athletic blunder cements their romantic relationship permanently.    There is some nice cameo work by Lebron James in this picture. Both he & Bill Hader have some comical brief moments together interacting on & off the basketball court like 2 brothers watching each other's back even though they are not blood relatives perse.    How do I grade "Trainwreck" as a film? The plot had no twists or turns in it, I just don't find Amy Schumer lovable as a character in any way, shape, or form, there were a couple of memorable lines in it that I can't repeat on a PG based family  forum,  & as a completed work there was virtually no depth or lasting gravity here. In addition there is a sex scene with an underaged magazine intern employee that quite frankly didn't need to be seen or acted out at all IMO. Very tasteless. I get why it used as a mechanism to get Amy fired in the storyline, but it was beyond stupid & totally unnecessary for a widespread audience to visualize up close & personal. I was gonna give this picture an F, but since I enjoyed watching LeBron James & Bill Hader toy with 1 another on screen, I will bump my grade up to a D-. Like the title suggests, skip this 'Trainwreck' at any & all costs.
