So, I got to thinking, would it ease anyone's mind about playing Houston if we beat New England? That is what leads to this poll.

Would the Colts rather play Houston at home or New England at home?

Our D plays better at home and I feel we will have a better chance passing the ball vs the Pats than vs the Texans. We will also have a better chance against the Pats' O-line than the zone blocking of the Texans, IMO.

Kansas City.

Especially how they played against the Steelers! They tried everything they could to blow that game.

I wonder if they know that Luck graduated last year and there's no use in tanking the season to get the 1st round pick?

They would just go from 1 USC QB Cassel to another USC QB Barkley, LOL. :)

lmao

Imagine when we go to KC this year and if they said to each other, "What? I thought Luck was still at Standford. Oh noooooo!!!!!."

Patriots. Houston always seems to come out insanely strong against us on the road.

I voted for Houston, since we will play them on the road every year. Plus, New England gets all the breaks and I hate watching them...not to mention I would love to have them off our schedule for a while. However, if we manage to win at New England, then that is always the sweetest win of the year in my book.

Probably happens next year. We wont be winning our division the way the Texans are going and the Pats will. So, we will in all likelihood host the Dolphins or Bills or Jets next year. I would love for it to be the Jets so that we can get back one for this year though Revis might be playing???

Yes, let's bring on the Jets!!!

While I think the Texans are the superior team, I would rather play in Houston. Our edge rushers are much better indoors and the Offense plays much faster indoors. I never like our chances outside on a sloppy New England winter field.

I would rather face the Pats on the road. I think if we beat the Patriots in their own house, that will show the rest of the league that The NEW Colts have arrived and we want to go all the way. It will show that all the heavy hitters in the league like the steelers, the ravens and the 49ers better move over because we are the new TOP TIER team on the list!

I think if we take out new england at home, we will earn the respect that left with Manning. No disrespect to the Texans who are quite a force too, but they are a division rival, I think it's more of a statement to kill a heavy weight team outside the division in their own house!

Sorry....I do not want to see either on the road.....but we have to. My answer is neither. I do not like the games at New England, and Watt is going to bull rush McGlynn to the IR in that loud stadium.....

I want our guys to go play as hard as they can for 60 minutes, and put themselves in the position to win a football game whether it is at LOS or the 56th St practice facility! Every snap is important....every kick...tackle....every second of film study.....Go out and play every team like there is NO tomorrow! :coltshelmet: :coltshelmet: :coltshelmet: !!!!

Good advice Brent. Just line up, stay focused, & tackle the guy across from you. Simple as that. Well said buddy!!! :colts:

Always go with none of the above.

A valid point Gandalf! A number of people forget about this option. Think outside the box or just smash the box entirely.

I prefer to stand on one on occasion. Preferably a soapbox.

I do not want to go up to New England in January(too cold and outdoors) I rather face the texans in a controlled environment and have Matt Schaub have to beat me rather than a proven playoff thriver in Tom Brady in his environment

I guess I missed the purpose of this poll as we must play them both on the road :dunno:

That being said, I feel we match up better with the Pats. They are a team on the wain (aging defense, QB etc). The Texans would be more of a quality road win.

If we're talking December that's another story, but I'd rather go to New England. They aren't better than the Texans either.

    • Let's talk UDFA: Tevaun Smith
Smith is one of my favorite UDFA's. My buddy is a Hawks fan so I have seen him play a lot.  He has speed, breaks tackles, is a willing blocker, and the most important thing catches anything close to him. His route tree is limited mainly because Iowa plays such a conservative offense.    I was surprised he went undrafted after his pro day. He is a hard worker and I think he at least makes the PS. I just mentioned him in another thread. The kid has a future on Sunday. He's the WR I'll be watching.    I think Tyms has an advantage over all the WR's because he's proven he can be a good gunner in the league during his time in NE. Bray obviously has an advantage because of return duties

    • Haeg got first team rels at RG over Clark?
I don't think Reitz or Good are going anywhere. In fact one will start at RT. I would be surprised if Harrison isn't around 1 more year at least to be our back up C. I'm not sure only having 2 rookies at the C position is the way we go.    I guess we keep 10 or stash Blythe on the PS keep 9.  Castonzo Mewhort Kelly Thorton Reitz/Good start Harrison and Haeg are the primary back ups. Clark gets a red shirt year for the most part.    I think Blythe can be a fine pro but he needs to get stronger. If he was a 3 position back up out of the shoot you think we get him in the 7th?  We cut the dead weight in Holmes.
    • Extremly early prediction...
In my mind he'd be the 4th back. Turbin is here to be the back up. I think it's his job lose maybe Vsrga takes it but he'd need a really good preseason.    I'm hoping we keep Ferguson or Williams as a scat back. I can't remember a guy like that on our O. Ferguson looks to have really good hands. We could do different things with him. He's another guy that many had being drafted.    That would leave Varga fighting it out for 4th spot or as you mentioned we could stash him on the PS and keep 3. That would leave the door open for an extra WR.   A guy like Tevaun Smith. My buddy is a Hawkeye fan so I fell asleep watching them ast year.  When he did wake me up it was often with the name Tevaun Smith. I was surprised he wasn't drafted after he blew up his pro day. I really like that kid

When I first saw this thread, I thought I was late to the party, but then I saw that this thread has been going since 2012.   I'm still late to the party, but story of my life.  I joined in 2015, but have been a Colts fan since I was a kid.   My first Colts memory is getting a hat signed by Quentin Coryatt at training camp, and that same year almost going to the SB.   My favorite Colts memory is beating the Pats to get to the SB in 2006.   Favorite Colts:   1. Peyton Manning 2. Marvin Harrison 3. Reggie Wayne 4. Dallas Clark 5. Brandon Stokely   Needless to say, Peyton (#1) and everyone he threw the ball to (#2-5) won me many, many fantasy football games, and are my guys for eternity.   You might assume from my top 5 Colts that I am a "new-age" "fairweather" fan who only likes offense and points.  You are wrong.  I am grateful for the offensive Renaissance in Indy, but Defense is my passion.  My secret top 5 Colts: Bob Sanders, Dwight Freeney, Robert Mathis, Cato June, Gary Brackett.   I want Henry Anderson to help lead a Defensive Renaissance in Indy.  Luck and TY are great, and I hope the OLine is outstanding, but the D is the Key.

Hey guys,   I have been posting for probably a year or so now.  I reside in Brazil, IN, which is about 20 minutes East of Terre Haute on I-70.  I'm 28 years old and have been a Colts fan since Harbaugh days, but really started following and rooting hard for them after they drafted Manning in 98.  I love our team and my family and I make sure we are ready to rock for every game.  We always have viewing parties at my father-in-laws or my house and are known to holler and scream at the TV!  Hope all is well with all of you, and GO COLTS!
