now that this win is out of the way we have unfinished buisiness with the jags.

I think we will win this game, but I'm a little concerned about this one. It always seems like we can never just dominate the Jags the way we should. We let them hang around and then bad things happen late. We need to reverse this trend this week!

I predict a shoot out since it is being played on a short week.

What did Collingsworth say, "You're only as good as your last loss when referring to Andrew Luck and the ugly, ugly loss to the New York Jets and bad picks and so forth." I mean, if we lay an egg vs. Jacksonville, one of the worst teams in the league, a real stinker, then perhaps you can say that but CC really is a non-Indy fan for some reason, or perhaps that is just perception.

I like the pressure that we were able to put on Tannehill in the Dolphins game. If we are able to produce the same king of pressure against Gabbert, we stand a good chance to win. We know that the Jaguars will try to run against our defense, being that Gabbert is ranked 30th in the league in pass yards. Our run defense has to get redemption, even if MJD is out for this game.

On offense, I think Luck should continue playing at an improved level, as he has been the last two games. I also think we'll have a better rushing attack this week. The Jaguars may be too focused on stopping Wayne, Luck and the passing game.

Lastly, I think we should always look out for teams with nothing to play for. They'll take shots deep and do the unexpected out of desparation.

Ease up guys! I'm keen on gettin' 6th win and revenge over Jax, but...we gave 8 injured players.

Satle is substitued by Shipley well, but Avery and Mathis are already out, I think. One of our best defensive player and one of Luck's most productive (and dangerous) weapons.

IMO this gonna be a struggle again, however I think our D is effective against run, and Gabbert won't throw an other 80 yds TD pass in the next decade again.

Well said, my wine consuming friend. I want a W as much as anyone, and I always believe the Colts will win, no matter the circumstances (vision?). But in fairness to the task.... we are as thin in depth at a couple of positions as we have been for some time, including last year and we face a division rival (throw out the records). Also, we go on the road. Not insurmountable, but a tall order.

    • How the heck did I miss that?! Wow
    • It is fact. You do understand where the money to pay player salaries and such comes from right? I mean it’s right there in the CBA…   the league basically places the money in an escrow account every year directly from the league, which is a portion of the revenue set aside for player salaries from the leagues various sources(tv deals for example). It never touches the owners pockets first.  Jim Irsay could have only 10 cents in his account and it wouldn’t matter when it comes to player salaries.  yes, guaranteed monies and such have to be put in upfront but if you read the fine print, that money is basically reimbursed the to the team the year it’s paid out. So 2025 guarantees would be paid back to the team in 2025 from the player salaries fund.    and yes, I’ve linked it every year for the past 5-6 years. Ever since the beginning of the Ballard era, which seems to be when this notion of Irsay not having cash for this or that came up as a rationale for not signing big name FA. It’s not though when one actually looks up how that all works.
    • Looking at OTC now.  Seems like we may have around 10-12M cap space left to go after players in FA.  Do the Colts sign I player or break it down to a few small signings.  Still seeing who is available and limited on time.  Still am high on WR Quez Watkins and seeing the Dolphins are also interested in him.  Watkins played under Shane and figured he would be one of his targets in FA.     Both SS, assuming Cross is the starter, but FS is main focus and probably in the draft.   Not sold one too many true FS from college and sure you seen prior post about how slow these CBs are and a move to FS probably best for their career in the NFL.  Especially Khyree Jackson who has a lot of the overall skill set of Cooper DeJean and might be a viable option later in the draft.
    • I’d like Crossby!   I really like Mitchell, but I just don’t see more youth being a good thing for our CB room. Even if the Sneed thing is made up I still think we should go for a vet.    I hope we can get Cooper in the 2nd. I’d prefer a WR (or Bowers) at 15, but right now I think we’re looking at DE.    Powers-Johnson looks greats, but of all the things we could do I think OL is probably the least likely at 15.    Lots of needs. Safety is probably the biggest, but I don’t think any of them are worth the 15th overall.
