Hmmmm....the 'active' top 10 has Hines Ward. Tells me this may not be 'scientific.' :funny::spit:lmao

How in the world is Saturday even close.....to some of the other linemen listed.....let alone Brady as mentioned....I think I saw Reggie at 172 when I 'glanced' at it.....Brady is not even mentioned int the top 10 active...and Hines Ward is.........:) HMMMMMMMMM!

I would like to see Madden make a list like this.

1 through 25 would be Brett Favre.

"Brett Favre could through a 70 yard bullet underwater!"

Brent & Lollygager you guts always crack me up man! Classic fellas just classic...There was a serious bromance between John Madden and Brett Favre, but unfortunately for the HOF Raiders Coach, it was exclusively 1 sided wasn't it John? 1 sided romances/obsessions or infatuations from a distance never really blossom do they Madden?

Just distract with a turkey leg Brent. Whenever Al Michaels and John Madden cover a Thanksgiving game, usually the Cowboys vs the Lions, located in Dallas, Texas John seemed more mesmerized by which player was gonna get the 1st crack at biting into that tender bird vs the outcome of the actual game IMO.

@Southwest: as it Aikman's mom's nasty blueberry cobbler (straight from the barn) or Madden's Tinactin Turkey that made the players ill after? Wow.....I always wondered why the MVP of the game never seemed hungry.....

Did Madden's turkey clear 'scratchy' throat too.........:dunno::spit:

Items that you never see John Madden endorse in a TV Commercial:

--A treadmill

--Brett Favre "Is the King Of NFL interceptions & is way overrated as a QB" t-shirts

--The Sophisticated Book of NFL Broadcast Vocabulary. [sorry Pat Summerall. You deserved a much better TV colleague in the booth IMO.]

--A pilot's guide to airplane safety. [John had an extreme fear and phobia about flying, which is why he rode the Madden Cruiser Bus everywhere he went.]

  • 2 weeks later...

On the plus side, at least there are no children & custody issues to worry about since John has a phobia about flying & would never travel to China or Russia to adopt a kid from a foster home abroad.

Oh wait, they probably have dogs...Who is going to retain custody of the dogs man?

Brett's seems broken up & distraught over who retains custody over which dogs. Easy there #4...You're gonna have a nervous breakdown. Chill Bro...

I love picking on John Madden & his love affair with Brett Favre. Hey, how come #4's name isn't pronounced Fav Ray anyway? I've never understood that. That's how citizens of France would say his name.

Teasing Madden & Favre is a lot like shooting fishing in a barrel. It's almost too easy...almost. haha The hard part is getting Madden out of his gigantic larger than life cruiser first.

What was the cause of your separation John? Why did the relationship fizzle out between you two? Was it over former NY Jets massage therapist Jen Sterger? Careful Brent, this harassment suit is gonna be expensive for you man...

Think of your wife Deanna Brent. She won't look this happy ever again.

    • I would but would want a deal where it was a third round pick, but couldn’t see Saints doing that.  Woukd have a high end CB and still have our top two picks
    • nice     Edit:   Also both the trades mentioned here pretty much followed the draft value chart.     Talking trading up to #38 from #44 and offering a 4th   Difference in #38 and #44 is 60pts(avg 4th round value)   Ended up trading up to #41 from #44 for a 5th.   Difference in #41 and #44 is 30pts(avg 5th round value)
    • Our defense will never be GREAT as long as we play * defense by having corners 10 yards off the ball on 3rd and 3. And an unbelievable unwillingness to blitz more than 4 times a game. And also, it doesn't matter who is in the secondary if the front seven can't stop the run(we can) and get to the passer(we did ok getting to the passer, but we need more blitzing from lb'ers). Our first pick should be an offensive lineman like Fuaga, Powers-Johnson, or Barton. Then target a receiver like Polk, Pearsall, Washington, Corley, or Roman Wilson in the second or third rounds. As much as I would like to get Bowers I just don't see it happening. And we need a very good linebacker to go along with Speed and Franklin.
    • Yeah, could very well be. I think I remember Ballard said he did it to have more flexibility when asked. if it is Paye, I would rather see him play out the year before extending.
    • The idea of DeJean going in the late first round is due to his instincts and overall very competent play in nearly all aspects of DB play.  Cover 3 FS is more valuable, IMO, than a cover 2 FS.   Contrast DeJean's overall RAS and talents with Hooker, who was only good at being a single high deep guy...especially his rookie year where he picked off bad QBs for a while...and DeJean at 22 or later with a 3rd round pick gathered from a trade down is a much better decision than Hooker was at 15.   BTW, Blackmon had the same ACL injury as Hooker and did well as an overall S as a rookie, but wasn't a single high speed guy, and is probably still a better overall S now than Hooker is in DAL...both having the exact same injury years ago.
