Gotta respect a man who gives back to the military so much. :worthy: The guy is exactly right to if you shake the hand of a service man or woman they really appreciate that acknowledging their service and sacrifice. Unlike World War II, society isn't really asked to ration goods anymore and sadly we must never neglect the care these men and women they don't deserve brain trauma, lost limbs, mental physical therapy. The hardest part of war other than lost comrades is the horrific images that a person can't erase from their own mind. Why wouldn't they take a guy into the military with tattoos? It doesn't mean that person is a thug or drug dealer.

Good choice brother. I hope this guy wins. :goodluck::D

Carly actually sings from her diaphragm. Very impressive! She's too sweet though...The music industry is cut throat. She needs to be protected by a lion for a talent agent once she lands a record deal.

Let her sing the "Star Spangled Banner" at the SB or "Ave Maria" at Carnegie Hall with the London Symphony Orchestra...

Booze containers & a musical instrument all in one... Comedian Jeff Foxworthy would call this "Redneck Rum on the GO!" Holiday Cheer Indeed!

Delain "Stay Forever"

Delain "We Are The Others" A Gothic rock song against bullying & advocating for fair & equal treatment of everyone...

"I'm walking with Sophie tonight

She lives in the air that I breathe

I can't get it out of my mind

how you were left to bleed

Was it how you dressed

or how you act

I can't believe

how they could act so violently

without regret

well, we will not forget

We are the others

we are the cast-outs

we're the outsiders

but you can't hide us

we are the others

black-eyed and battered

you're not out there on your own

If you feel mistreated

torn and cheated

you are not alone

we are the others

As simple as air in your lungs

as simple as words on your lips

And no one should take that away

no one should argue this

Now with our heads up high

we'll carry on

and carry out

that we won't let them get us down

or wear us out

'cause we are not alone

We are the others

we are the cast-outs

we're the outsiders

but you can't hide us

we are the others

we are the cast-outs

you're not out there on your own

If you feel mistreated

torn and cheated

you are not alone

we are the others

Normal is not the norm

It's just a uniform

(we are the others)

Forget about the norm

(we're the outsiders)

Take off your uniform

(we are the others)

We are all beautiful

We are the others"

I think they need to develop a new genre of pictures called mid-life crisis breakdown flicks. Now, this category can overlap with romantic comedies or "chick flicks" as they are sometimes referred to, but not always. The appeal of mid-life crisis breakdown flicks is two fold in scope. Either they resonate with an audience because viewers went through a similar experience themselves psychologically speaking or a ticket goer finds comfort in the knowledge that their life might be boring & mundane, but at least my life isn't as pathetic or sad as what you just watched on the big screen for an hour & a half. It's the same reason people watch TV shows like "Hoarders" because no matter how bad your your life might get. There's comfort in the fact that you aren't surrounded by trash you refuse to throw away with dead insects, rodents, or small animals buried underneath all that garbage. Translation: By comparison, almost anybody else's life looks golden next to that trash train wreck.    Recently, I watched a 2016 midlife crisis flick "Alex Of Venice" directed by Chris Messina. It has a running time of 1 hour & 16 minutes with no real twists, turns, or earth shattering moments that shock you. Why am I reviewing then? In 3 words, actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Who in the hades is that you ask? Many of you will recognize her as Lt. John McClaine's 18 yr. old daughter Lucy in the 2007 film "Live Free or Die Hard." Translation: Mary based on her portrayal in "Alex Of Venice" & other pictures like "Smashed" & "Kill The Messenger" is well on her way to building a solid resume as a good character actor who just seems believable as a common person who could easily pass as your neighbor, teacher, & mom. Having an everyman chameleon quality that can slide in & out of roles with authenticity is a rare gift & it guarantees that you will be in high demand with no shortage of work as she grows older either.    The storyline is straightforward. Alexandra [Mary Elizabeth Winstead] lives in Venice with her 10 yr. old son Dakota [Skylar Gaertner] & her stay at home husband named George [Chris Messina]. No, not Venice, Italy, but Venice, CA BTW. Alex doesn't own the house where she resides. Her father Roger [Don Johnson], a has been actor living off old TV royalties does. Not an 80's "Miami Vice" TV show joke, but it's the 1st thing that popped into my head when I saw Don Jonson on screen though. I can't lie. Anyway, Alex plays a workaholic environmental attorney committed to derailing a large spa facility from being built in her hometown by a rich real estate developer named Frank [Derek Luke].   Alex is a driven lawyer so driven in fact that he husband George feels overwhelmed & under appreciated by his spouse. He cooks, cleans, does the laundry, helps his son finish his homework, & makes sure his father-in-law takes the correct pills everyday even though Roger appears to forget things more & more frequently now. George is getting tired of holding down the homefront while his wife gets to play earth champion & environmental savior at work. Tensions finally bubble over when Roger refuses to take his meds or follow his daily pill routine that George has spelled out for him. George tells his wife that he's not the family's maid & it's obvious that he's reached his breaking point. Alex doesn't seem to realize how dire the situation is or how much she relies on George to keep the household running smoothly. He tells her that he needs a holiday & just walks out. Whoa. This is somebody bent on a permanent change with no signs of returning.    Fortunately for Alex, her dad was smart enough to call in reinforcements AKA Lilly [Katie Nehra]. Lilly, a tall blond lady, is a freaking riot. She curses a lot around Dakota as his aunt, but she means well. Besides, I like people who swear frequently because it typically means they sugarcoat nothing & they are as genuine as you can possibly get. Lilly is a good ally for Dakota to have as his parents move closer & closer to their inevitable divorce. She listens to him, encourages him to pursue his talent for drawing sketches of other people, plays hooky with him away from school, jokes with him about a girl he has a crush on in school, & she reminds Dakota that he's an awesome kid that both of his folks still love despite this newest rocky road in his life.    Alex appears to be denial about the demise of her marriage to George. Thankfully, Lilly helps her sister get back in the dating scene again. Lilly has a dirty mind & she's very blunt in texting a coworker of Alex's named Josh [Tim Sharp] about meeting her for a drink socially. I can't repeat what Lilly told her sister Alex about getting back in the saddle again, but rest assured her brainstorming is priceless. LOL!    Alex feels swamped at the moment. She is being pushed hard by her boss to stop that spa development by Frank that is killing tadpoles in local lakes, her son Dakota seems too quiet for his own good, her pops Roger has been diagnosed with alzheimer's disease which explains why he can't remember his lines for the play titled "The Cherry Orchard," & she starts sleeping with her spa rival Frank on the side while the case is still pending. Uh oh. Can you say conflict of interest & blurring one's professional judgment? Not a good idea Alex.    When the verdict is handed down by a local judge, Alex lost her case, knew that her decision to fool around with Frank was not her finest hour; grasped that her union to George was officially over for good, & that she had no idea how long Roger would still be coherent before the disease stole him of his family memories forever. Alex is barely hanging on by a thread. She puts on a brave face, but the audience knows the real deal here.    Everybody shows up at the local theater to see Roger give his live performance in "The Cherry Orchard." Don Johnson actually pulls off a darn good scene here playing a butler on stage forgotten by the wealthy family he looked after for decades & he gives this moving speech about legacies & how we all want to be remembered & not dismissed or forgotten leaving some kind of mark on this world before we die. The film ends with Alex & Dakota buying ice cream, strolling down the sidewalk, & the 10 yr. old kid says "I like it that something written a long time ago still holds up today. People have the same hopes & dreams no matter what yr. we are in."  Profound observation there Dakota. Well said. [That's not an exact quote BTW, but it's basically what the kid said.]   "Alex Of Venice" is predictable & far from a masterpiece, but actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead just feels genuine as a mother doing her best to be a competent lawyer, love her son, care for her father, laugh with her fowl mouthed sister, & feel like a vibrant, attractive woman again. Let's roll with a B- on this one because we know Dakota, Lilly, Roger, & Alex are gonna make it & be just fine eventually.    Keep an eye on Mary; She's making a name for herself in contemporary cinema. Even though this picture evokes themes of "Kramer vs. Kramer" regarding a divorced couple with a son, good acting is good acting regardless of a simple, TV of the week script.
    • Interesting article on Moncrief last season
probably not, but it could probably could be extrapolated. If my memory serves me right, I felt he got better as the season progressed.    The interesting points to note in that article were his expanded route tree and how well he executed them as early as week 3.
    • Predict the AFC South's finishing records
Colts 10-6 (9.5) my over/under Texans 9-7 (9.5) my over/under Jags 9-7 (8.5) my over/under Titans 6-10 (6.5) my over/under -I will continue to stick with this. The Colts over/under should be placed at 9.5. They will at least win 9 IMO and if Andrew stays healthy I say 10. I am banking on Andrew staying healthy.
    • Predict the AFC South's finishing records
I'll make a little friendly wager with you Bogie. If the Colts at least finish 9-7 or better you have to change your avatar to an Andrew Luck one passing the ball and if they don't I will change mine to a Drew Brees one passing. Just for 2 weeks, then we can change back. Out of respect for Prince I shouldn't even offer the bet but I think it would be fun. If you lose you can change it back in 2 weeks. You predict 7-9 so I am even increasing your count by 2 games. We wont find out what happens until December anyway.

When I first saw this thread, I thought I was late to the party, but then I saw that this thread has been going since 2012.   I'm still late to the party, but story of my life.  I joined in 2015, but have been a Colts fan since I was a kid.   My first Colts memory is getting a hat signed by Quentin Coryatt at training camp, and that same year almost going to the SB.   My favorite Colts memory is beating the Pats to get to the SB in 2006.   Favorite Colts:   1. Peyton Manning 2. Marvin Harrison 3. Reggie Wayne 4. Dallas Clark 5. Brandon Stokely   Needless to say, Peyton (#1) and everyone he threw the ball to (#2-5) won me many, many fantasy football games, and are my guys for eternity.   You might assume from my top 5 Colts that I am a "new-age" "fairweather" fan who only likes offense and points.  You are wrong.  I am grateful for the offensive Renaissance in Indy, but Defense is my passion.  My secret top 5 Colts: Bob Sanders, Dwight Freeney, Robert Mathis, Cato June, Gary Brackett.   I want Henry Anderson to help lead a Defensive Renaissance in Indy.  Luck and TY are great, and I hope the OLine is outstanding, but the D is the Key.

Hey guys,   I have been posting for probably a year or so now.  I reside in Brazil, IN, which is about 20 minutes East of Terre Haute on I-70.  I'm 28 years old and have been a Colts fan since Harbaugh days, but really started following and rooting hard for them after they drafted Manning in 98.  I love our team and my family and I make sure we are ready to rock for every game.  We always have viewing parties at my father-in-laws or my house and are known to holler and scream at the TV!  Hope all is well with all of you, and GO COLTS!
