Hope all went well with your procedure. Stay safe!

  2. I remember running to the bathroom when the commercials came on but now I watch the commercials and use the bathroom during the game.

  3. Kung Hee Fat Choy!

  4. Bummers!  My boss lady, the queen of the house said it’s time for me to downsize.  No no not dieting but my Colts apparel.  I admit I have couple shirts that still have the sales tag and some I haven’t worn in years!  Bummers got to decide.  At least I get to keep my memorabilia.

  5. Indy here I am!  Luckily I brought my thermal swimwear!  It’s a little chilly.

  6. It’s gonna be a cold this weekend!

  7. Game on TV!  Got to get up bright and early!  Go Colts!

You must be INDY's good :clover: charm because whenever you attend a game live the Colts win buddy.

I think Jim Irsay should fly in for every home game at a bare minimum. Works 4 me.

I'm telling ya man. If you would have been at LOS on Sunday, the Raiders would not have won alawai.

Not scientific proof of anything concrete I know, but I like that theory & I'm sticking to it.

  9. Indy 500!  As a little kid I’d get up at 0 dark thirty to listen to the Indy 500.  Yes listen on my transitor radio with the black leather casing. No live TV but tape delay.  With a little luck got stationed at Ft. Knox and made it to the 500!  Good times!

Cool trip down memory lane there. There's no other medium like radio; the 1 on 1 intimacy of it between broadcaster & listener. Okay, maybe modern day podcasts fit into that category as well I suppose.

It's the closest thing the world has to Fireside chats man. Nice. Thanks for sharing alawai. :hat:

  10. My favorite “F” words are FREEDOM 2. FOOD 3. FRIDAY 4.......

Lol!  Oops forgot football and fan forum!

  11. Had a great deal today.  Went on base for Valentines Day Luncheon Buffet.  Me and the boss lady.  Prime rib and chicken marsala and yes I ate my share of the cost.  In fact I ate my share and wife’s share of the cost!

  12. The good on Christmas/New Years is I get to eat all my goodies, the chocolates, the cookies and the candles!  The bad is I get to eat all my goodies the chocolates, the cookies and the candies!

Lucky for me that at Thanksgiving I set my scale back double digits so I’m doing ok.

  13. I’m not hurting today because I didn’t do the marathon.  The good I’m in no pain, the bad is I miss it.  Being doing it before many of you were born but health issues put a stop to it.  Nothing really bad but it was also time hang it up!

  14. Loving my new TV.  Big difference from my 13 inch B/W.

    1. Nadine

      Nadine

What? You are not serious. Do they even make black and white tvs anymore?

    2. alawai

      alawai

At least I got my daily exercise by walking to the TV to change channels!  Lol!  I had a smaller 32 inch but decided to treat myself to a bigger one.  There’s couple problems, I have several rolls of aluminum foils that I can’t use and where’s the switch to change channels?  Lol!

  15. A salute out to all the Vets!

  16. 808’ers message me.

  17. Got the reservations down for the Bills game and now working on the Titans game.

Oh, since DillyDilly will be present in the stands tomorrow, it's a lock now. INDY's got this. Like a lucky rabbit's foot on steroids, I'll take it. That's my story & I'm sticking to it.

      Have fun my man!

  18. Finally made it home!  A delay and a flight cancellation but I made it home.

  19. Darn, losing makes the long trip back home even longer!

      southwest1

I'm glad you returned home safely DD & yes, INDY loses do indeed blow. Hang in there my man.

  20. Started to pack for my journey to Indy.

Have a nice trip DD. I expect pictures & a full report when you return BTW. Just Joking buddy. :hat:

Can you do a slide show? Nobody does those anymore man. No, not a powerpoint presentation or computer laptop program. I mean an old school slide show straight out the 60's or 70's when you had the tripod pull down screen & slides that made a sound when you pushed the button & the next photo came up.

I'm just messing with you. haha

    2. alawai

      alawai

SW1, Slide show from the 60’s and 70’s?  Are you talking 1860 and 1870?

    3. southwest1

      southwest1

Bah! Ha! Ha! You sneaky devil; You got me good on that one. :spit:

You're lucky I didn't request a sequence of glass plate photographs just to throw in an extra wrinkle. Just kidding!

  21. I can’t get the kid/sports nut out off me!  Yup up bright and early to watch the Indy 500 on TV.  Thought I’d out grow the getting up early thing but now it beats listening to the 500 on my transitor radio - LOL!  Even better I’m able to watch it in color instead of black/white

    1. PrincetonTiger

      PrincetonTiger

I already watch Monaco this morning

    2. alawai

      alawai

I thought about the Monaco but that would’ve been very early wake up call for me!  Lol!  I need all the beauty nap/rest

    3. PrincetonTiger

      PrincetonTiger

All I had to do was adjust when I got ready

  22. As a kid I was such a sports fan that I’d wake up early on race day and listen to the Indy 500 on the radio!

    1. southwest1

      southwest1

I always wonder how descriptive announcers got on the radio about car crashes. You know, since the fan isn't there live in person how vividly do they document the broken fiber glass, the tire that catapults off the vehicle, & the safety of the driver.

I miss the mystique of radio that TV & the internet shattered after they arrived on the scene. It's not as easy to chronicle ambiance as some people think with just your speech, words, & tone.

    2. alawai

      alawai

Yup and they created the atmosphere.  Just listening to the Indy 500 you could smell the fuel and burning rubber!

  23. Dinner’s ready.

What's on the menu Dilly Dilly? Aside from Bud Light given your new call sign I mean.

Do you need any taste testers? Notice I didn't say additional cooks. haha

  24. 100GFB will soon be leaving the forum.  It’s been great but it’s time to leave the building.  It’s nothing on anyone just time to start a new chapter or even a new book!  Yikes I hate to read!  This forum has been great as I can’t go to the bar down the street and talk Colts football.  I don’t live in Indiana nor any of the neighboring states so this provided me with news - good or bad it was news on my team.  I enjoyed reading the friendly and sometimes outrageous banter but it was Colts news.  I’ll always be a Colts/Indiana fan.  As a Colts fan let’s just say my fan base goes back to The Horse, Johnny U, Big Daddy and Mutz.  My favorite toy as a youngster was an Indy 500 replica.  Lol!  It was metal and heavy.  SW1/Ruston you could say it was heavy metal.  I may be back but it’s time to leave the building.

Well Nadine I’ve been with the old site and I was in the Colts Fan Club.  I have a T-shirt that say “member Colts fan club charter member”.  Yes it’s been a looooog time.

  25. HC?  Draft prospects?  Are theses significant issues in ones life?  Try getting a breaking news text, “Incoming missle attack, take cover this is not a drill.”

Holy moly man! That seriously happened? Whoa...Glad to hear that you & your loved are alright GFB.

That announcement would be so unnerving to hear. Like air raid drills in London under Churchill.

    3. alawai

      alawai

Yes it did and it took over 1/2 hour to get an official “false alarm” notification!

    4. southwest1

      southwest1

Next thing you know somebody will knock on your door & ask you if you wanna buy an underground bomb shelter again. Deja Va Cuban Missile Crisis reboot. Only kidding!

In all seriousness, that had to be a very frightening experience even with a false alarm. Like you have got to be joking right?

Here's hoping that never happens again. Why does bad stuff always happen to people I like instead of colossal jerks anyway? Just once can't we reverse that trend? LOL!
