  1. I can’t get the kid/sports nut out off me!  Yup up bright and early to watch the Indy 500 on TV.  Thought I’d out grow the getting up early thing but now it beats listening to the 500 on my transitor radio - LOL!  Even better I’m able to watch it in color instead of black/white

I already watch Monaco this morning

      DillyDilly

I thought about the Monaco but that would’ve been very early wake up call for me!  Lol!  I need all the beauty nap/rest

All I had to do was adjust when I got ready

  2. As a kid I was such a sports fan that I’d wake up early on race day and listen to the Indy 500 on the radio!

I always wonder how descriptive announcers got on the radio about car crashes. You know, since the fan isn't there live in person how vividly do they document the broken fiber glass, the tire that catapults off the vehicle, & the safety of the driver.

I miss the mystique of radio that TV & the internet shattered after they arrived on the scene. It's not as easy to chronicle ambiance as some people think with just your speech, words, & tone.

    2. DillyDilly

      DillyDilly

Yup and they created the atmosphere.  Just listening to the Indy 500 you could smell the fuel and burning rubber!

What's on the menu Dilly Dilly? Aside from Bud Light given your new call sign I mean.

Do you need any taste testers? Notice I didn't say additional cooks. haha

  4. 100GFB will soon be leaving the forum.  It’s been great but it’s time to leave the building.  It’s nothing on anyone just time to start a new chapter or even a new book!  Yikes I hate to read!  This forum has been great as I can’t go to the bar down the street and talk Colts football.  I don’t live in Indiana nor any of the neighboring states so this provided me with news - good or bad it was news on my team.  I enjoyed reading the friendly and sometimes outrageous banter but it was Colts news.  I’ll always be a Colts/Indiana fan.  As a Colts fan let’s just say my fan base goes back to The Horse, Johnny U, Big Daddy and Mutz.  My favorite toy as a youngster was an Indy 500 replica.  Lol!  It was metal and heavy.  SW1/Ruston you could say it was heavy metal.  I may be back but it’s time to leave the building.

Well Nadine I’ve been with the old site and I was in the Colts Fan Club.  I have a T-shirt that say “member Colts fan club charter member”.  Yes it’s been a looooog time.

  5. HC?  Draft prospects?  Are theses significant issues in ones life?  Try getting a breaking news text, “Incoming missle attack, take cover this is not a drill.”

Holy moly man! That seriously happened? Whoa...Glad to hear that you & your loved are alright GFB.

That announcement would be so unnerving to hear. Like air raid drills in London under Churchill.

    3. DillyDilly

      DillyDilly

Yes it did and it took over 1/2 hour to get an official “false alarm” notification!

    4. southwest1

      southwest1

Next thing you know somebody will knock on your door & ask you if you wanna buy an underground bomb shelter again. Deja Va Cuban Missile Crisis reboot. Only kidding!

In all seriousness, that had to be a very frightening experience even with a false alarm. Like you have got to be joking right?

Here's hoping that never happens again. Why does bad stuff always happen to people I like instead of colossal jerks anyway? Just once can't we reverse that trend? LOL!

  6. Happy New Year to everyone!

Same to you GFB. Never lose your skewed sense of humor buddy! Actually, you're humor perfectly fine. I'm the 1 that probably needs to be institutionalized. LOL!

  9. Both ND and Navy showed class at the end of the game!  Kudos to the school, coaches and team!

  10. Sat on my lawn chair to watch flyover.  Somehow I love just watching the flyover but it’s sad when they go into the MIA formation!  For all the Vets, thank you for your service.

  11. it was a great week, got to meet up with many friends, met new friends, even met a guy and wife from my home state and got a Colts victory,  I’m on my final leg home and will be with my crusty old pillow tonight.  Go Colts!

Great to see you and give you a     Not sure what your son thought when I hugged  you though.  lmao      It was a beautiful weekend, weather was great for all the festivities, and yes  a Win on top of it.  :cheer:     Safe travels home.

    2. DillyDilly

      DillyDilly

Lol!  I always tell my son that he was a Colts fan and have pictures to prove it.  I helped him get ready for school and many times put him in a Colts shirt!  No my son is a sports fan not really a Colts fan but he follows most sports.  Some may have “Breaking News” on their cell, he has “Breaking Sports News” on his.... Thanks Gramz it was great meeting you!

  12. It may have been an ugly W but L would’ve made my trip home long and unpleasant!

  14. Trying to set my itinerary for my Indy trip

      southwest1

"Itinerary" I always liked that word. Plus, it sounds more sophisticated than just saying schedule too. A+ on your diction/vocabulary during the Natl. Spelling Bee contest 100GFB.

Have fun just not so much fun that you forget what you did. Just Joking Man!

There may be other words that you may like but I can't use it in this family friendly forum!  Lol!

  15. What a way to spend my niece's graduation.  I'm sitting in the stadium parking lot an hour now and have two more hours to go.  The bed of my truck is loaded with supplies so I can't leave it.  Hey it's family so I got to suck it up and be thankful.

You were there at least around the action.

My cousin graduated from college yesterday and sadly it was too many states away so I just got pictures lol. But, still it looked fun. Graduations are a blast and sometimes the after celebrations.

This was my niece's high school graduation and off to college at the end of Jull/early Aug for college.  I wish I had her brains and athletic ability!

Just promise me that 2017 will be a less devastating yr for losing iconic musicians & boxers my man.

In all seriousness, I sincerely hope that a new yr brings good fortune your way 100GFB & all my forum friends actually.

  18. I was gonna give my homies priority of little freebies I got from the Colts game but guess my homies from 808 aren't interested!

    1. shecolt

      shecolt

I don't know what 808 means, but that was really kind of you to offer to share.

    2. southwest1

      southwest1

I googled 808 as an area code & Hawaii popped up on screen. That's what I figured GFB meant shecolt.

I assumed my brother from another mother has close from the Aloha State. I'd love to be chilling there right now as opposed to freezing my ice cubes off in WI. LOL!

We are supposed to get 6-10 inches of snow over the weekend BTW. Son of a...

    3. DillyDilly

      DillyDilly

Yup 6-8 inches of snow is not a good weather forecast!

  19. Any 808/HNL Colts fans out there. Send me a message

  20. Now the long journey back home.  Can't wait to get back to my crusty old pillow!  The Indy weather was not kind to me but bottom line it's all about Colts football!

Why is your pillow 'crusty?' Just messin' with ya buddy. I always do that with cool cats I like 100GFB.

You can wash your pillow case you know or perhaps put less gel in your hair. LOL!

I know; I know with friends like me who needs enemies or warm & fuzzy relatives right?

All kidding aside, I am glad you had a good time & arrived home with no complications or delays of any kind mi amigo.

  21. I arrived on Friday-rain; Saturday-cold and wind; Sunday-cold; Monday-little warmer but cold; Tuesday-little cool but much better; today Wednesday-rain!  Indy does not like me!

Lol!  No it's me as every game/year that I attended there was bad weather!  I do games no later than early November so this is the latest I've been here.  Anyway I've had cold, wind, flurries, rain and that horrendous Artic freeze with a wind chill of negative 5!

      Nadine

On thursday it was 75 and I was hanging xmas lights wearing flip flops

it is always cold when you are here but it's not too bad today

      DillyDilly

Not bad today but lite rain and I don't want to be caught in it.  Although it's lite don't want to take any chances so stayed in

      BrentMc11

You are bringing in the colder weather buddy....no snow this time, but cold mornings.

Southwest1.  It's not an authentic but it is a leather helmet!... Leather is not thick so by saying your head is as thick as leather is questionable!  Now people have asked about me being a leather head and what part of the animal was used for my head?  Now that is insulting!  Well at least there's a reason my head is up my a**!

    3. BrentMc11

      BrentMc11

And here I thought you were wearing it all along like me!! :)

    4. DillyDilly

      DillyDilly

Southwest1/Brent - I should get Adam V to autograph the helmet!  No offense to him but the ageless wonder is doing great!  Yeah he's also doing great!  Lol!... Brent haven't seen you around since Fred and Wilma got married!

  24. It's gonna be a long morning this Sunday!  I've got to rearrange my weekend exercise schedule and get up bright and early to watch my Colts! You won't believe the things I do/sacrifice for my Colts!

    1. southwest1

      southwest1

If it helps, just skip your Sunday workout & say today, I'm just gonna exercise my mind watching the game, eating snacking, & swallowing a thirst, quenching beverage.

A mind is a terrible thing to waste you know. It needs to be flexed like any other muscle man.

    2. Nadine

      Nadine

Thanks for doing your part! :)

  25. Home!  After two weeks I finally have my own pillow to drool on!  Long but but good trip/vacation.  The "Big House" in Michigan, Ford Factory, Rock &Roll HOF, Ft.Ball HOF, Rogue Gym, OSU and last but not least Colts opening game at the Lucas!

    1. southwest1

      southwest1

They'd have to kick me out of the Rock n Roll HOF 100GFB. The security guard would be like "Hey SW1, I've gotta lock up & turn out the lights man. Maybe you need to see if a Summer internship is available dude."

    2. DillyDilly

      DillyDilly

Both R/R and Ft Ball HOF were great!!  If you have the opportunity to visit take it!

      southwest1

I'm glad you had a good time GFB minus the raindrops that is.

Yeah, I never travel anywhere near Ohio, but perhaps someday an altered itinerary on purpose is mandated in my case. Good advice.
