  1. Here's what I think. He told us what he's going to do, or at least expecting to do. He said: "We're gonna trade back (three times)" He loves the OL in the class. (yes, he said you could get one in round three, BUT I expect one higher) Asked about weapons for a young QB: He said, "protect them. block; keep them safe." Look at all the teams in the playoffs, they can protect. "Andrew used to tell me, "just block for me; I'll do the rest" "Do they want a superstar receiver? YES, but block for me; keep em blocked." Oh yeah, and there's a corollary to that. There are two ways to beat a great QB (offense); one is pass defend, but the other is sacking and disrupting. So, I'm guessing we trade back in the first for more picks; we are just as likely to pick an early round OL, DL as we are a CB or WR. and with that, I hope we end up with Brock Bowers
  2. No. He was considered a potentially A+, but a lot of draft experts doubted his arm strength and wondered if he was too "robotic." A LOT of the experts loved Ryan Leaf. Bigger arm, bigger physically. Some said he'd be a better version of Terry Bradshaw. Colts have later denied this, but I think they made their mind up at the combine when Leaf blew off his interview with Polian et al...
  3. We definitely need another LB. Wouldn't be surprised to see a second or third rounder go there. With the questions on Jelani Woods and the very real possibility that Drew Ogletree won't be back, I don't think we'll get rid of Mo-Allie Cox. I think I'd love it if we were able to get Cade Stover from Ohio State in the third or fourth. And I think right now the chances are good we'll trade back. The wild cards are if someone unexpected slides to 15 --- Brock Bowers, Nabor, maybe even Jared Verse...
  4. Ballard has signed big guys to big contracts. It's just mostly been our guys. Quentin Nelson, Shaq (and he would have made the HOF if he didn't get hurt), JT, Phillip Rivers, Matt Ryan. And he's stretched for big trades, Deforest Buckner (who he also extended with a big contract) and even alas, Carson Wentz. This year he's got to spend money --- or lose --- big FAs. Pittman, Grover, Kenny Moore...
  5. THAT explains why I haven't heard boo about him...
  6. Just throwing it out there. Check out the game he had against Colorado. Don't know how fast he is, but he plays big and has great hands...
  7. Have you WATCHED him play? that doesn't excite you. even the dang tiniest bit???? C'mon man
  8. That's not true about the roster when Peyton came on. At least not on offense. He joined a team with bookend tackles --- Tarik Glenn and Adam Meadows --- Marvin Harrison, Marshall Faulk, Marcus Pollard. pretty good team. And we still had growing pains. So I wouldn't expect a winning season next year. Lots of work to do...
  9. I'm gonna be waiting all day to see pics from today's session. Looking forward to seeing them all in Colt unis....
  10. yeah man. Gotta love that. getttttin started
  11. that was the first thing I thought when I saw his videos. we'll have to see if his speed plays at this level, but man, he looked good.
  12. THAT was awesome. I especially liked the parting shot from Morroco. "May we never pick this high again!" :)
  13. Have we heard exactly when the rookie mini camp is supposed to take place? I keep seeing that it could be either this weekend or next...
  14. The biggest reason for the crash was on Ballard. And I love Ballard. But he let too many guys go and the unit collapsed. He let Fisher go and we didn't have anyone ready. He let Glowinski go thinking Pinter would step in seamlessly. And there was a third guy he let go. Name escapes me. I guess he figure having 3 big time player would carry the unit. But OL play like 5 fingers. And we suddenly only had 3. From that standpoint I think we still have to comb remaining free agents for help at guard...
  15. He definitely can run and the catch the ball. Sounds like's had some injuries. And Miami fell off the map this year. I read that Mallory ran the fastest 40 among TEs at the combine. He looks damn good to me. I like Kylen, but he really hasn't fit that pass-catcher TE role yet. This guy looks like he could do it...
  16. yeah. I'm surprised we've only picked 1 OL at this point, was sure there was a guard in here somewhere. there are still some very interesting WRs left.
  17. Wow. I've never even heard of this guy. Watch his tape. He's Austin Ekeler... this guy could a really good addition..
  18. Interesting. I looked him up in Lindy's draft guide. They compared him to Brandon Facyson. Looks good in the vids...
  19. unusual body type for Colts DL. But he looks strong, relentless and very good at splitting lineman. We haven't had a potential 3 technique like this guy in a long time. Be interesting to watch how we use him....
  20. yeah. I saw that he wasn't great in the one-on-ones at the Senior Bowl. But if you look up BYU offense vs defenses, you get a better look. He's very athletic and AWARE. One of the things we were horrible at last year was dealing with stunts. This kid sees them and responds to them. I think he looks good. Does he need time and strength, probably. But he can play. He's sooo tall you wonder if rushers who can reallly dip in the NFL will give him trouble. But I like him. I know others were hoping for Dawand, but I just didn't see us going that way after Zach Banner way back in 2017...
  21. He looks pretty damn good to me. Don't know if the multiple-move routes will work as well in the pros, but man. He's quick, he gets open, he catches the ball and he's tough as hell. I saw him take a couple of HUGE shots over the middle in his tapes. Got back up. He's also very feisty. He doesn't seem to have the ultimate take-the-top off speed to be a TD threat on every catch, BUT... he looks good to me.
  22. Ballard did say they thought he was a good fit for their defensive scheme. So I'm hoping he turns out to be good
