Colts Draft Contest
#1
Posted 06 April 2012 - 07:51 AM
Even though there is a whopping ten choices this year, the first round pick may not be much of a challenge. Therefore, contestants will have one choice at pick #1 and will get one point for getting this correct. If the first pick is announced prior to the draft, round one will be eliminated. On the other hand, contestants will have three picks in the second round (A, B, and C) and two choices (A and B) for all rounds thereafter. In round two, correctly choosing choice A merits 5 points, while correctly choosing choice B or C instead will merit 4 and 3 points, respectively. In the other rounds, correctly picking an A choice in the correct round wins 4 points, while correctly picking a B choice in the correct round merits 3 points. If one of your "A" selections is chosen in a different round than you predicted, you get 2 points, while if one of your "B" selections is chosen in a different round than you predicted, you get 1 point. If AND ONLY IF there is no clear winner at the end of 7 rounds, the contest will be extended for ALL participants and any selection you predicted in one of the earlier rounds that is instead picked by the Colts after the draft as a collegiate free agent will count for one point each.
Make your choices here, the old ColtPower site or the new ZetaBoard site (that has not been given an official name yet), but please do not make multiple entries. You can participate by listing the round, choice A, B (or C only in round 2), for each round, with the name of the player, position and school. You may also write with each choice a little blurb explaining why you chose that person.
Your 20 selections for new Colts this year are as follows:
Round 1 - #1 one pick for one point
Round 2 - #34 A, B, C
Round 3 - #64 A, B
Round 4 - #97 A, B
Round 5a - #136 A, B
Round 5b - #170 A, B
Round 6 - #206 A, B
Round 7a - #208 A, B
Round 7b - #214 A, B
Round 7c - #253 A, B
Please be a good sport and do not just copy other contestant's selections. You can easily do some research on your own, since plenty of free draft services are available on the web and with this group's knowledge, I'm sure there will be some stiff competition. You can make changes to your selections ONLY if there is a change in the Colts' selections, (such as a trade), but this can only be done before the contest is closed on Thursday at noon CST April 26, 2012, on the first day of the draft. Good luck and let the best GM win!

I know your new to this forum but we already have a guy that's going to do this but no biggie
I have seen Dr.T do it on coltpower, if I am correct
I normally do it about 10-14 days before the draft to keep the thread manageable. It is a LONG LONG way to the draft and the thread may become huge, with lots of updates if we started it now, that is why I was waiting. But if Dr.T wants to manage it, and tally the points at the end, I am all for it.
I do like the fact that in this format, the number of players we can select is much more. I will give my selections soon
Dr.T, thank you for saving me some time, lol. Are we going to give our contestants a choice of 5 UDFAs??? Just curious.

Thanks Chad! Didn't mean to step on anyone's toes, but I promise to run an efficient contest and make you proud.
Can't wait to see y'alls picks. This is the most informed group of Colts draftnicks I've ever seen. It should be fun to see who wins!
