Lattimore

Knowing how Grigson took a chance on Chapman with a knee issue late in the draft knowing he would prob would be out all year. I think he will do the same with Lattimore. If he is health he would be a top 20 pick.

I Don't think BP would of touched Chapman or Lattimore. I like us taking a chance on these guys

Random question does any one think colts would sign A.J. Green? cause during the pro bowl him and Luck had an epic chemistry

That would be awesome!!!!

but how do you imagine that would work?  He isn't a free agent, and I doubt the Bengals would have any interest in releasing or trading him.

Sure. Why not?

Green has at least two more years to go on his contract.   And then the Bengals can always franchise him if they don't sign him to a long term deal...

Would the Colts be interested?    Sure.     But we're talking years and years before any of this is even possible....

Don't get your hopes up....      Just sayin....

From a standpoint of Chapman hasn't played a game yet,  you're right.

But in terms of how franchises are run,  Chapman was a very good pick.   When healthy, he was worth way more than a 5th round pick.    So taking him there was a steal.   Typically most 5's don't pan out.    So the risk/reward of taking Chapman in the 5th round was a very smart move.   I suspect 31 other teams were not happy when the Colts pulled the trigger on Chapman when they did.

No matter how it pans out,  I think taking Chapman was a wise decision.   I'll always be happy with Grigson for doing that.

And for what it's worth (not much, I know)  I expect Chapman to be a good player for the Colts for years to come.....

I'd love to take Lattimore if we could get him late in the draft.     But I don't think that will happen.

Lattimore is already talking about playing in the 2013 season for whatever team takes him.   Perhaps the surgery and rehab are going well.

I'm expecting a team that can afford to take him higher than most to grab him around the 3rd or 4th round.    We'll know more once we hear about the medical reports from the Combine.     But if they're bad,   and his stock falls,  I'd love to grab him late.

But I'm not counting on that.    I think he'll be long gone and not to the Colts.

honestly, given that we only have a 1st, 3rd, 4th and 6th round pick i would not waste a pick on a guy who will prob not be the same RB he was before he got hurt. especially with the needs at other positions.

All the top mock guys seem to think that since he is ahead of schedule apparently in his rehab, that he is probably going to be taken in the first couple rounds and NOT fall late.

Combine medicals will ultimately seal his fate. If they look promising as the word is right now about him, somebody will use a pick on him WELL before the 6th round. Only takes 1 team to 'over draft' you.

I dont see RB as a need at all.

I would have to wait and see how things play out before I say this would be a good idea or not.

If we can address most of our other needs via the draft or free agency and then we are looking at him as a late round pick or undrafted why not?  Especially if he goes undrafted then you really aren't giving up anything but I am sure we wouldn't be the only team thinking that.

If we have other needs to address though I think running is pretty low on our list of needs.  It looks like Brown will be back next year with Ballard who looks good.  There might be a place behind them to replace a guy like Carter but I also think the Colts like Carter he just seems to struggle with staying healthy.

Bingo.

We have too many other needs than to have that luxury.

I'm inclined to agree that RB would be a luxury pick as things stand right now, and I've consistently believed that the Colts running game troubles stem from the OLine, not the backs.

That said, I think we need to see what happens in FA. In my dream world, the FO is going to find several solid value upgrades to cover most, if not all, our areas of concern. At which point they will have the luxury to go straight up BPA in the draft, even if that is a RB.

Please don't wake me up just yet. I'm enjoying this dream.

IMO he's worth the risk in the 3rd round, he's a 1st round talent, and if he doesn't work out so what, how many 3rd round picks have we had over the years that didn't work out.

He's a player I'd be willing to take a gamble on

The 3rd rd.??? Thats absolutely insane. NO way on God's green earth we would waste a 3rd rd. pick on a guy coming off his injury and not to mention, RB is way way waaaaay down on the list of needs. A team might take a flier on him in the 6th or 7th but it won't be us.

Yea, let's Draft the guy so in the 1st Pre-season game he can blow his Knee out again. Yep, that'll be the best draft pick ever. What were we thinking not to make this thread earlier :sarcasm:

I'd prefer that RB we interviewed at the Shrine Game from PITT IF we even take a RB in the Draft
