Michael Vick expected to be released Friday.

Blows my mind that someone is going to pay him big bucks, but it will happen.

Thought I'm not sure Andy Reid wants to hitch his wagon to Vick for a second time.

Can't really fault Vick for that abysmal O-line in Philly though. KC already has a great line and if they were to use that #1 pick for Joeckel than Vick would probably have a great season. Especially in that weak division.

Just imagine the Vick/Jamaal Charles read option.

He's just injury prone IMO. His style is only going to get harder to maintain as he gets older and older.

I'm not sure a better Oline will change that, because his worst hits come from scrambling.

True, he's definitely undersized and his age isn't helping, but I feel that if he were to land anywhere, KC would be the ideal spot.

I think Vick could do well in a run first system like the Texans run. Something with a lot of play action, screens and bootlegs. I don't think he is best suited for a scheme that will ask him to do a ton of drop back passing. That is not his forte. I'm not sure where he'll wind up, but the situation would be ideal if he could be in a run first scheme I think.

Where do you think he lands?

Kansas City seems like a viable option now that Andy Reid is there. Maybe the Jets.

Eagles | Not releasing Michael Vick Tue Feb 5, 02:26 PM

The Philadelphia Eagles will not be releasing QB Michael Vick before the deadline Feb. 6, where $3 million of Vick's contract will become guaranteed. Eagles head coach Chip Kelly is still evaluating what the team is going to do at quarterback in 2013, and the team does not want to release Vick prematurely.

Our view: Vick could be a nice fit in the new offense Kelly is bringing to the NFL. We'll see if the team decides to keep him around after further evaluation.

Well the last time Vick was "released" it was a good thing for him. Now, I guess... not so much. ;)

I don't think he ends up with the Jets (not enough cap space, and too much money committed to the position already) or the Chiefs (Reid had to have learned his lesson). It would have to be a desperately desperate move of desperation by a desperate team.

Welcome to Arizona, Mike!

If he can still 'spin it' and heave it downfield, maybe BA would take a risk... none of that pistol / zone - read option college offense krapola for BA though... LOL

Vick has yet to have a GREAT season in his career and thats with having an elite LT in Jason Peters the last 3 years, Phillies O Line was nothing especially good but having Vick makes your O Line worse, if Vick starts a whole season its basically a given he will take at least 30 sacks do to his scrambling nature and holding onto the ball not to mention its all but guaranteed (given his track record of only doing it once) that he wont play a full 16 game season, yes I know he played 15 games 3 times but I dont think Howie Roseman said to Vick "Now we want you to play 15 games per season of mediocre football"

Vick's best career year (2010) was no better than what Wilson, Luck, or Griffin did as rookies.  He's not shown the ability to repeat that performance, he's not a guy who is worth big money, and I'd say at this point he is an average QB at best.

Not a starter in my opinion, a guy that can come in and win you some games but not do it consistent enough to be a starter

Maybe the eagles resign him for less money. It seems chip Kelly would want him more than most

He has stated he won't renegotiate his contract.  I personally wouldn't pick him up, but sure that some team will.  I would be hesitant to sign him as my starter with limited future and not sure how susceptible he is to being a backup.

Cutting and resigning isn't renegotiating. The eagles still might offer more than anyone else

Exactly right, GoPats. Jets are cash strapped & Reid isn't making the same mistake twice. AZ or bust. No other takers unless Vick agrees to be a backup QB.

Looks like he might stay with the eagles. They didn't cut him and they paid him the 3 million dollar roster bonus
