Agree. I think he's the only true shut down CB in the NFL. Considering what the better CB's received last year in free agency , Revis would be a bargian at 11-12 mill. Plus the Jets can't franchise him so it is likely they will trade him this year.
You're forgetting Richard Sherman. He was the best CB in the NFL in his rookie year (last year) as a 5th rounder from Stanford.

They are not going to cut him.

Yeah, I get that feeling too, and so I'll pass.    He's not that expensive right now.   I think he's $6.5 Mill this year...   and then he'll have to be re-signed.  I appreciate that he has one more year on his contract and they likely won't be competitive this year,  but still....

I don't want to trade for someone where I'm paying full price and potentially more right now.   We have too many other needs to do that kind of deal as of now....

if he play like he did 2 years ago, why woulden't pepople trade for a 1st?

I mean you can't get a better CB, if hes lost skill because because of hes injury a first might be expensive but imagine this..

Goldson? Bethea

Revis Davies

I mean just look at it, we might have a defense for once..

btw diden't Davies have a attitude problem before indy or am i mistaken?

The Jets are so over there heads when it comes to salary cap and a dearth of offensive talent, they feel it is time to think about the rebuild. The biggest chip they have is Revis, and they feel they won't be able to resign him due to money concerns, so trade him this offseason so they can bring in new talent. I would imagine before the draft. I don't know what they would want for him, but we have the money to pay him, no doubt about that. Can you imagine him with Vontae at the corners. I love the idea since we would still have plenty of money to sign other players, and it could be our one big acquisition, although not FA. I wonder what draft picks it would take. Possibly not as much as you think due to the fact he is coming off an ACL, so that might reduce the Jets leverage. What do you think about going after him?

I'd trade him for a 1st and 3rd. I mean, this guy is probably the best CB in the league and we have enough cap room....

But, I doubt a 1st and a 3rd are going to get in done though. Especially since they are such high picks. Maybe we can ship a LB out there way as well.

why are the jets shipping him?

They also probably feel they will lose him the following year (2014) as his contract is up. Also is a stipuation in this contract that states the Jets cant franchise him. So if they can't resign him after 2013 , they will get nothing but a 3rd round comensatory pick. Really makes sense seeing they can only go so far in 2013 considering their cap and QB situation.

we are all asuming that he is the next AP and is going to be better coming off his knee injury? and second i rather tie up that money in a COUPLE of quality Olinemen to protect the number one pick,,,

he dosen't need to be better coming off, he was already the best by far IMO and we should still be able to get 2 good OL for the money we have, but it all depends on the price, I would give up a first for him, hopefully he would come cheaper because of hes ACL salary wise

I hope Grigson is not considering it, we need o-line to protect the future with A.Luck and that's the priority, if Grigson was going to trade for a player it would be for a proven offensive tackle or G and wouldn't be a waste or a stretch with what you would get with a rookie and could start right away already NFL experienced, sorry everybody but I think new elite LG/C/RG/RT is more important then any other positions right now and next year then the defense, If Revis can make it all next year healthy the I would say go for it next year! But right now if the Colts can trade the 24th pick for a proven healthy and wanting to win attitude o-line guy I say go for it!!!!!

Go Colts!!!!!

Ps. Stop with the wanting anybody else and waste cap money on others not a priority, Colts need right now the best we can get o-line guys to protect the future of the franchise A.Luck, if he gone too soon we'll have to start all over, we don't need D.Revis or W.Welker or any other players but the best o-line guys available. Yes there is a lot of money and it won't all be spent cept what is required by rules and there needs to be a little $ kept back to get a replacement player/players if one or more go out for the year on IR...

I am all for this a 20's first rounder maybe little bit more as in 2014 conditional pick. I won't give Fleener. The idea of teaming Revis/Davis is fantastic. Sign Kruger to help the pass rush which will help the CBs even more. We have the money. If we stay relatively healthy on D with a great young improving QB, we have the most important parts of building a team covered. We would be able to move the ball through the air & stop other teams from moving the ball through the air even if they have an elite QB & weapons. Really think its a great idea to entertain.

Jets owner seems too jumpy.  What they should do is ask for a #1 and a little more now.  If it doesn't play out, then just keep and play him and see how he pans out.  No reason at all to cut him, work out other solutions to the cap for the year. If he's great, dump even more salary from others on the roster and get in the signing frenzy and try to retain and rebuild around him. He's what, 27 right now?  If he's no longer the same, let him walk for a compensatory pick.

In the near future, Revis and Davis are going to get huge paydays.  Can we fit it in our monster plans?

I agree except know that there is no way we get all of the best O line talent.  It won't happen. Other teams need o line help and will spend for it too.  The talent pool there is small and demand great.  You have to have plan B in case the O line guys you target go to other teams.

The question is not "Should we get Revis". The REAL Question is "Should Revis be granted the Honor of coming to us?" Lol

I really hope Grigson doesn't give our Picks away. Yes Revis is Good, but how's his ACL? Is he still going to be the same? Can we really afford that Risk? And I refuse for us to pay him a HUGE Portion of our $46 million. I say we pass on him and get us a younger CB. But that's just me

Well see how we wasted 1st picks before (Polian) why are people keep saying we dont need a CB are you BLIND????

I'm up for getting Revis but I'm also satisfied with getting a younger cheaper but good CB or use the pick on it, and yes we need an oline, but for god sake have you seen Vaughn?

get Levitre / Vasquez  and  Williams, Jenkins, Revis,  Rhodes or whoever and maybe Goldson and or Byrd but thats maybe asking to much

btw I'm up for replacing the whole Oline but I think adding just 1 will still make a big impact, but I would like atleast 2

why exactly is the a dumb thread? We need a CB, Revis is the best CB, Hes owner want to get rid of him, he want a decent salary, Colts have alot of money I mean sounds pretty straight forward to me..  if people dont like him or think hes skill is declining that something else but I don't see why OP get so much hate for the topic

He wants a pay raise every year.. i doubt grigs wants that head ache on top of what it would cost to get him

Great Point..... plus why is everyone always wanting someone elses cast offs?  There is a reason they are looking to get rid of him...he plays for himself and for his glory, .....  never the team... The Colts are a true team...
