Regardless of feelings about personality both Clemens and Bonds should walk in steroid cloud or not.
But what do I know. I find Babe Ruth to be the most overrated player of all time in any sport....

Craig Biggio not getting in was a travesty.

No players were inducted into the baseball HoF this year and I find that ridiculous.
Regardless of feelings about personality both Clemens and Bonds should walk in steroid cloud or not.

I totally agree..
Bonds and Clemens "early" in their careers were simply the BEST PLAYERS IN THE GAME. They got old and sold their soul for whatever reason. ..
But it does not detract what either did in the first 12 years of each players career. They were dominant. Then they took juice and became more dominant at an older age...
I can get the hate... but these writers simply have too much power. Nobody worthy? Jack Morris, Dale Murphy, Al Oliver, Ron Santo, ... there are plenty of "worthy" players.
These dorito eating writers need to try and promote the game instead of making it look as petty as it is.
Oh well.. I game up on BB a very long time ago.........

Wow, I am torn on this one... I think he is borderline. 3000 hits is a milestone, but is it as big as it once was?
A lot more worthy players than CB IMO.... Dale Murphy, Jack Morris, and Al Oliver ... stick out. They were dominant players in their prime.
Craig Biggio not getting in was a travesty.

I feel a "veterans committee" of some sort should be voting every one in and not sports writers who never played "any" sport let alone pro baseball.
It makes no sense at all.

Very good point concerning the voting for the Hall Of Fame, we've all see sports writers on sports talk shows telling us they are the guardians of the game no matter what sport and if some player or executive gets on their bad side they seem to be holding a grudge.
Bonds,Clemens or any of the PED era players get elected then there has to be a spot on the ballot for Pete Rose because as a player he is Hall Of Famer.
Jack Morris, I thought might get in this year but I guess not in the eyes of the BBWA.

You probably just overlooked it, but Ron Santo was inducted last year posthumously.
I like your choice of Jack Morris, and Clemens and Bonds were good/great players long before the roids.....steroids....that is ![]()
I also like Biggio for this year IF these guys were not selected.....I am with V-87 on this one. Biggio started as a catcher.....moved everywhere...very much like Murph of the Braves!!! Loved the Killer B's as players,.....but not when they came into Riverfront or Wrigley ![]()

AS for Murphy, Im not sure its such a travesty he's not in. I can get with Morris needing voted in, but Murphy shouldn't be.
He had 2 great years, 4 good years, and then 12 average years. He has a .265 career average. 19th ALL Time in strikeouts.... Is Carlos Beltran a HoF? Because as of right now, he trumps or nearly trumps Murphy in every single category. And after this season he will beat him in every single one....

Biggio will get in, he's just not a first or second ballot kind of guy.

You either have HOF numbers or you don't. Some guy with above average numbers that's been on the ballot for 14 years should not make it in because he's 'waited long enough' for it.

That's not entirely true. There are always varying degrees of greatness. There are some fairly high quality 2nd basemen in the HoF who were light years better than Biggio. Morgan,Carew, Alomar, Collins, LaJoe etc.just because guys are votes into the Hall doesn't mean they aren't worse than others there.

Just because there are better 2nd baseman in the HOF doesn't mean Biggio didn't deserve to go in on the first try. He's one of the best hitting 2nd basemen of all time.

That's exactly what it means. Very few people are first ballot guys. Biggio is not one of them. He will get in. His resume is fantastic, but in no way is he a first ballot guy.

If it takes a guy 10 years to get into the Hall he probably shouldn't be elected anyway. This isn't Congress. That's just my belief
